Australian melodic metallers LORD will release their new album, "Digital Lies", on February 22.
The official lyric video for the CD's title track can be seen below.
Stated LORD mainman Lord Tim: "For this release, we thought long and hard about other options regarding labels and, frankly, it's a mess out there. The larger labels are doing everything they can to protect their revenue and are being very cautious about who they deal with, and the smaller labels are at the mercy of a very volatile and changing market, and you can never be sure they'll be still in business once the time to pay up comes around. We've unfortunately had to wear the consequences of that in the past.
"We've chosen once again to distribute this release via Riot! Entertainment for Australia and New Zealand and Rubicon Music for Japan since we had such a great experience with them for our previous album, 'Set In Stone'. For the rest of the world, however, we've chosen this time to keep as much control over our product as we can by planning to export to stores around the globe and sell directly from our own web store.
"As I mentioned before, the market is so fickle now, trusting a label to even be there let alone pay up is a risk we just can't afford to take if we want to keep touring and releasing albums — simple as that.
"So what does it sound like?
"If you know what LORD sounds like… well, that. We're not reinventing ourselves or the genre at all. We haven't tried to go off in any new and weird direction. There's definitely an underlying dark technology vibe throughout the album as a theme, but other than that, it's the same diverse sound that we've had since we were out there as DUNGEON."

LORD is essentially a continuation of DUNGEON, one of Australia's longest running and highest-profile heavy metal bands that disbanded in 2005. LORD has released three full-length albums, two EPs and a digital-only release live album, and continues to play the DUNGEON back catalog live. The band has shared the stage with the likes of GAMMA RAY, NIGHTWISH, QUEENSRŸCHE and most recently ICED EARTH and continues to tour internationally. Their last critically acclaimed album, 2009's "Set In Stone", featured guest appearances by Craig Goldy (ex-DIO), Pete Lesperance (HAREM SCAREM), Glen Drover (ex-MEGADETH), Felipe Andreoi (ANGRA), Olof Mörck (AMARANTHE) alongside a host of other well-known musicians.

Australia's Lord issued a new music video for the track "Against The Wind." The song is taken from "The Dungeon Era" box set, marking the 25th anniversary of the founding of Dungeon, the band founded by Lord founder Tim Ian Grose (a/k/a Lord Tim). The box set was issued back in November 2014 via Dominus Records. "Against the Wind" originally appeared on the 2004 Dungeon release "One Step Beyond."
The clip was filmed in October 2015 at Top End Studios, Marickville, and in the Hayes' family residence in Kellyville. It was produced, directed and filmed by Lord Tim and produced and filmed by James Lopes with editing, color grading and 3D compositing by Lord Tim for A Dusk Music Video Production.

Australian metal band Lord have kicked off 2022 with a bang, releasing their "Blood Red Skies" EP, featuring a cover of the Judas Priest classic of the same name, as well as a recent cover of Iron Maiden's "Stratego"
Commented bass player Andy Dowling: "2021 was a big year for cover songs with the release of Undercovers Vol.1, and while we did originally vow to not do any more cover songs for the foreseeable future, here we are! This was a bit of a last minute release and some fun to celebrate what was a big year for Lord. We also think its a great way also kick off 2022 with a quick little tribute to two of the metal kings in Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. We hope this will keep our friends entertained while we continue to work on new Lord music for later this year."
The full EP, exclusive to Bandcamp, comes with the Iron Maiden cover of "Stratego", which was previously a YouTube only release, "Wilder Than The Wind (Dicks Out Mix)" being a bonus track from the 2019 studio album Fallen Idols, as well as a half hour podcast chat between Andy and LT, talking about the release, 2021 in review and plans for new music.
You can listen to "Blood Red Skies" and "Stratego" on Spotify and Apple Music. The full EP with limited edition CD and exclusive merchandise can be found on the band's Bandcamp store here.
"Blood Red Skies" can be originally found on the Judas Priest 1988 release, Ram It Down. "Stratego" can be originally found on the Iron Maiden 2021 release, Senjutsu.
