Un titre est en écoute sur soundcloud mais le player rame chez moi :Seminal UK death metal band CRUCIAMENTUM have completed work on their much-anticipated debut full-length album “Charnel Passages”.
Ever since the band’s inception in 2008, with their “Convocation Of Crawling Chaos” demo (considered one of the best demos in modern day death metal), their split 7” EP with Vasaeleth, and their “Engulfed In Desolation” EP defining their repertoire, CRUCIAMENTUM were already being recognized as one of the most prominent present day death metal bands. With only these select releases amongst their arsenal, CRUCIAMENTUM would already play notable metal festivals such as Maryland Deathfest, Chaos In Tejas, Martyrdoom, and Rites Of Darkness (twice) over in the U.S. and respected festivals in Europe such as Killtown Deathfest, Hell’s Pleasure, and Black Mass Ritual on top of the band playing exclusive shows and doing mini tour runs (in the U.S. and in the EU/UK) alongside bands such as Dead Congregation, Grave Miasma, Sonne Adam, Anhedonist, and a pre-“Sorrow and Extinction” Pallbearer.
The band would ultimately follow this with an almost-indefinite hiatus. And after some time during where the members of CRUCIAMENTUM were putting their energies into other musical endeavors, the band would reconvene to write and record their debut full-length album after all this time since their formation.
On “Charnel Passages”, one will witness CRUCIAMENTUM deliver their strongest material to date. Taking their paradigm of virulent, crawling dark death metal majesty and creating a massive opus with a strong, warm, clear production (courtesy of Greg Chandler and his Priory Recording Studios) while maintaining that old school death metal aesthetic and vibe not exceeding 1993, “Charnel Passages” will be recognized as one the defining death metal monuments of the year.
