Alors .... n'y allons par 4 chemins, cet album est ce qu'il a fait de mieux depuis ... Slave to the grind (en même temps, il avait mis la barre tres haut depuis).
Le line up qui l'accompagne sur ce disque est de qualité :Metal Mike Chlasciak (Halford) à la guitare, le bassiste Steve DiGiorgio (Death, Sadus,Testament...) et le batteur Bobby Jarzombek (Riot, Halford,Painmuseum).L'album lui se veut tres catchy et teinté d'une grosse production....
Le tres bon cotoie le moyen et l'album explore le métal au sens le plus large du terme (vous avez vu comment on brode quand on sait pas faire de chroniques !!)..
En fait on a l'impression qu'il y'a 2 types de morceaux ...
- les morceaux qui se veulent modernes avec un Bach tres agressif
- les morceaux où Bach tente de raccrocher à ce qu'il faisait à la grande époque (la ballade co-écrite avec Desmond child en témoigne, et me rappelle d'ailleurs le dernier Scorpion produit par DC justement )... certains titres auraient pu atterir sur Subhuman Race.
En ce qui concerne Bach maintenant, ses talents de vocaliste ont été préservés... J'avais un peu peur compte tenu de ses dernieres prestations live , mais j'avoue avoir été bluffé !
Donc, un "bon" album qu'il me faudra réécouter pour confirmer car pour le moment je n'accroche qu'a la moitié des morceaux .

Edit: A noter aussi que Axl Rose himelf apparait sur 3 titres dont une reprise de Aerosmith...

Ahlala... Je l'ai bien sur acheté rapidement, surtout que Kylen et Oso m'en avait dit le plus grand bien... Et quelle deception aux premieres ecoutes... Mais quelle deception ! Des grattes un peu sous accordées, des compos aggressives et parfois bien basiques... Je n'ai d'abord retenu que les deux ballades sympas et la tres bonne cover de "Back in the saddle" avec une super rythmique.
Par la suite, et Chacal avait raison, si on considere que c'est pas du Bach "tata", et vu le line up qu'il s'est pris (j'y avais pas fait attention au début), il y a de bons brulots heavy. Par contre d'autres titres sont limites insupportables. Oui sa voix est toujours bonne en studio, mais bon, l'epreuve du live parfois c'est pas la même chose, alors...
J'en attendais vraiment autre chose, une bonne semi deception globalement...
J'irai bien sur toujours le voir on stage, mais cet album ne ressortira pas souvent par la suite je crains bien...

très bonne surprise pour moi, j'etais aussi très inquiet, mais finalement rassuré.
Un album un peu moins immédiat que ce qu'il a fait avec Skid Row, mais bien fait, hormis les 3titres avec AXL qui se suivent dans le tracklisting de l'album, ça fait un peu "fait un tour et puis s'en va", perso je les aurais éparpillé sur l'album mais bon, très bon.
je ne l'ai écouté que quatre fois pour l'instant et il ne m'a guère marqué. (je l'ai reçu via amazon que mardi dernier)
C'est bien produit, c'est bien chanté mais les compositions sont loin d'être géniales.

bon je l'avais eu a 7 euros sur amazon et j'ai été déçu je m'attendais vu le line-up de tueur a un truc mieux que ca mais la non a la limite le meilleur morceaux reste le morceau signé par desmond child.
Y a beacoup trop de titres divers et varié, ca par un peu trop dans tous les sens pour assimilé la bête mais je m'en retourne au 2 premier albums de SKID ROW c'est quand même autre chose.
Mouais...
Un peu décevant cet album. J'aime bien American metalhead qu'on avait eu au bang your head 2005, et les 2 ballades. By our side est excellente. Une bien belle power ballade gueularde comme on en a plus de nos jours...
Le reste est ultra... bruyant je trouve !

Je serais d'ailleurs curieux de savoir comment il s'est vendu aux USA, apparemment il y a eu un petit buzz autour de sa sortie, accentué par la présence d'Axl sur les trois titres ...

finalement,pour le monde entier ca tourne autour de 100 000,pas vraiment un flop mais pas vraiment un succes .
BAZ a déclaré qu'il ne ferait peut être plus de nouveaux albums vu que ca ne servait a rien vu que les disques(et le sien encore plus) ne se vendent plus...
en même temps si c'est pour nous pondre un autre album du même calibre qu'angel down,effectivement vaut mieux arreter...

"Let's talk audio here. Just like you and the rest of the planet, since Sunday I have spent every waking moment I can listening to 'Chinese Democracy'. Recently I purchased a brand new turntable, partly because it has a USB cord on the back so you can make MP3s of your albums. Funny thing, I have not made one MP3 yet since I bought it. Fact is, any ear can hear that albums sound far richer, clearer and more natural by far than mp3's and even standard CDs. Once I started listening to my albums again, the only use I now have for MP3s is their portability. It's definitely cool to carry your whole collection around in your pocket, but as far as sound goes, analog whups digital's ass, hands down, no contest.
"Which leads me to 'Chinese Democracy'. Picked up the 180-gram vinyl double album and the CD as well for the car. This is the first brand new album I have bought in over 15 years, for sure, possibly 20 years. All I can say is, we as music fans have lost a lot with the so-called (premature? one can only hope) 'demise' of the LP. As soon as I ran my fingernail down the side, splitting the cellophane and opened the gatefold sleeve, I knew I was in for a full-on rock'n'roll 'experience' getting into this LP. I pulled out disc 1 and was immediately struck by how 'heavy' this vinyl was. It's like my dad's old original copy of 'Led Zeppelin 2'. Not flimsy, lightweight vinyl like records became in the late '80s. 'Chinese Democracy' is a heavy, thick 'platter' of a record. I couldn't wait to crank it.
"For your information, the Bach stereo system consists of : the 'Ion' turntable through a Pioneer VSX-52 Amplifier. I run this through an AudioControl C-101 equalizier, with Adcom poweramps. My speakers are JBL Control 10s with a Velodyne sub-woofer on a hardwood floor. Yes, I can make my whole house literally shake if I want, and yes, the lights actually dim for a second in my living room when I fire all the gear up. I dig it. In short, it kicks ass.
"As soon as I dropped the needle on 'Chinese Democracy', I was captivated by the sound of this record and the thought, talent, and care put into this piece of art from all involved. The power, clarity, separation and production of this music is nothing short of incredible. As loud as I want, I can still hear the vocals, guitars and everything else perfectly clear, with the bass rumbling my guts (and below) just like it should. When Axl rips into the line 'even with an iron fist' in the first song, the blood in my veins starts to boil and the intensity does not let up until the end of side four. What I hear on this record is unbelievable pathos, 100% of Axl's heart and soul on record for all of us to hear. When he sings a song such as 'Street Of Dreams', it's like Janis Joplin at her best, with Quincy Jones' quote of 'melody is king' operating in full effect. The melodies on this record rip my heart out. To hear them sung by the beautiful/deadly instrument that is Axl Rose's voice is something that is to me, truly special, not to mention really cool to own and be able to blast 'on stun' whenever I choose. Four times today so far, but who's counting.
"I cannot stop listening to this record. 'Scraped', 'Riad N' The Bedouins', 'Street Of Dreams', 'IRS', everytime I listen I have a new favorite. Brain, Bumblefoot, Robin Finck, everyone on the record played their asses off; the production is stellar; I haven't even got to the lyrics, still too blown away by the sheer sound to tackle the words.... yet! The album is, above all: Original. Heartfelt. Without compromise. How many records can you honestly describe in that way today? This is like nothing I have ever heard. And I can't wait to hear it again. Which is, to me, the definition of great rock'n'roll."

je suis sur qu'il est sincère ! son enthousiasme est agréable a lire, me souvient d'une interview ou il disait avoir chialé sur son vtt en écoutant "live insurection" de Halford...
