Un groupe de thrash reformé de plus, les anglais sont de retour :
The original lineup of U.K. thrashers XENTRIX has reunited and is currently rehearsing for upcoming shows as well as preparing to write new material. So far, they have announced three dates with KREATOR and EVILE in April:

April 26 - Dublin @ The Academy
April 27 - Manchester @ Ritz
April 28 - London @ Forum

XENTRIX previously reunited with their original lineup in 2006 for a two gigs in their home country.

XENTRIX released four albums on Roadrunner Records: "Shattered Existence" (1989), "For Whose Advantage" (1990), "Dilute to Taste" (1991) and "Kin" (1992). They also issued "Scourge" (1996) on Heavy Metal Records with Simon Gordon on vocals and Andy Rudd on guitar

Bonne nouvelle, si on peut avoir quelques shows best-of sur les 2 premiers albums justement, je suis carrément pour.

Changement de chanteur/guitariste :
Veteran U.K. thrashers XENTRIX have parted ways with guitarist/vocalist Chris Astley and have replaced him with Jay Walsh (BULL-RIFF STAMPEDE)

The band says in a statement on its Facebook page: "It's been a while since we posted any XENTRIX news, and, to be totally honest, this has been down to the fact that we weren't sure if there would be anymore news or even any more XENTRIX.

"At the end of 2015, Chris Astley, our singer/guitarist, had decided he didn't want to be a part of XENTRIX or any other band for that matter, and so once again he was out of the lineup. This left us (the remaining three members) with the option to call it a day or try and find a replacement.

"We knew full well that the vocals are always the most difficult thing for any band to replace, but we wanted to carry on doing shows and making new metal music, so we set out on the arduous task of finding a new vocalist for the band. For the past 18 months, we've been trying to find that right person and it has been incredibly frustrating how many times we thought we had found the new addition to our lineup, only to discover, for one reason or another, it wasn't to be. We'd like to thank everyone that auditioned and demoed for us, we experienced some great voices and really cool people.

"But after a chance meeting at last year's Bloodstock festival, we found the right man for the job, and so XENTRIX would like to welcome Mr. Jay Walsh as our new singer/guitarist.

"We're super excited to have Jay on board and have already started writing and demoing new material. Most importantly, we can't wait to get back to doing what we love the most, playing live!"

XENTRIX 2017 is:

Kristian Havard - Guitar
Chris Shires - Bass
Jay Walsh - Vocals/Guitar
Dennis Gasser - Drums

Originally thrust into the public eye in the late '80s after their demo received a five-K review in Kerrang!, which in turn caught the attention Roadrunner Records, XENTRIX soon found themselves in the studio making "Shattered Existence".

Of course, their now-infamous cover of "Ghostbusters" remains a firm favorite with fans old and new as does the band's phenomenal second album, "For Whose Advantage?", which is regarded as a bonafide thrash classic.

The band went onto enjoy a short-but-successful career that saw them share stages with SLAYER, TESTAMENT, SEPULTURA, ANNIHILATOR, SABBAT, TANKARD and SKYCLAD before calling it a day in 1996, having become disillusioned with the U.K. metal scene.

XENTRIX released four albums on Roadrunner Records: "Shattered Existence" (1989), "For Whose Advantage" (1990), "Dilute to Taste" (1991) and "Kin" (1992). They also issued "Scourge" (1996) on Heavy Metal Records with Simon Gordon on vocals and Andy Rudd on guitar.

XENTRIX — with Chris Astley on guitar and vocals — played its first show in almost seven years in April 2013 at the Moses Gate in Bolton, England.

Prior to that, XENTRIX had reunited with its original lineup in 2006 for two gigs in the band's home country.

Pour cet été.
Veteran U.K. thrashers XENTRIX have inked a deal with Listenable Records. The band's new album, "Bury The Pain", will be released in the summer. The disc was produced by Andy Sneap and mastered by Russ Russell. The cover artwork for the album was created by Dan Goldsworthy and can be seen below.

XENTRIX made its live debut with new guitarist/vocalist Jay Walsh (BULL-RIFF STAMPEDE) in August 2017 at the Bloodstock Open Air festival at Catton Hall, Walton-On-Trent, West Midlands, United Kingdom.

Walsh joined XENTRIX as the replacement for Chris Astley, who left the band at the end of 2015.

Originally thrust into the public eye in the late '80s after their demo received a five-K review in Kerrang!, which in turn caught the attention Roadrunner Records, XENTRIX soon found themselves in the studio making "Shattered Existence".

reformation de Xentrix

Nouvel album.
Sur l'extrait le chant me fait penser à Grip Inc, la compo à Testament.
Xentrix have released the official video for "Seven Words", the title track of the band's new album, out November1 via Listenable. Watch the clip below, and pre-order the album here.

Hailing from the North West of England, Xentrix was formed in 1985 by guitar player Chris Astley. After numerous changes to the line up Xentrix signed to Roadrunner Records and entered the studio to record their first album Shattered Existence with producer John Cuniberti (Vio-lence, Forbidden, Joe Satriani).

Xentrix were one of the leading lights of the British thrash metal movement. They had music videos which all had regular air time on MTV’s Headbangers Ball. Gaining global notoriety, Xentrix had many high energy performances with audiences of thousands.

Xentrix released their comeback album Bury The Pain in 2019 with production from Andy Sneap and Mastering by Russ Russell, this new recording showed the band sounding heavier than ever, while still retaining their signature sound.

Seven Words is the 7th studio release from Xentrix and is a crushing compendium of all that has made this band what it is today. New tracks such as “Reckless With A Smile”, “Anything But The Truth”, “The Alter Of Nothing”, “Everybody Loves You When You're Dead”, and the title track “Seven Words” will take their rightful place next to the Xentrix classics.

Xentrix’s guitarist Kristian Havard Comments: “This LP is the culmination of the last 2 years of us experimenting and trying new ideas. It feels like a big step forward for the band, but without stepping away from our Thrash Metal past and I can’t wait for people to hear it.”

Recorded in the UK at Backstage studios in Derbyshire and Viscon studios in Lancashire, the album was mixed and mastered by Andy Sneap (Judas Priest, Exodus, Megadeth) and returning to create the cover artwork was Dan Goldsworthy (Accept, Corpsegrinder, Alestorm)
