⛅ 𝐆𝐔𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐈𝐀𝐍 𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐄𝐋 the third single from ALCATRAZZ's brand new album "𝐕" set for release Oct 15th. Pre-order at: https://smarturl.it/AlcatrazzV

The frantic opening track from our new album, featuring Nigel Glockler of @PlanetSaxon on drums and Donnie Van Stavern of Riot on bass guitar. It’s fast and intense, so hold on tight! 🔥
Inspired by the biography of an old stage actress not being able to perform again, the song is a lament of these difficult times, about the pain and sorrow of witnessing classic venues struggling to stay alive and the grief of not being able to perform nor attend concerts.

#Alcatrazz #GuardianAngel #V

As soon as the proverbial needle has connected with the proverbial first-etched groove of ‘Guardian Angel’, the first track from their fifth studio album V, it is quite literally pedal to the metal in the most glorious, traditional sense. Guitarist Joe Stump and guest-drummer for the track, Nigel Glockler [SAXON], front-foot it from that first split second, screaming guitar sprinting next to those thunderous drums, and then the voice of new Alcatrazz’s singer Doogie White tears into action, smashing the notes and hitting the vocal heights which Alcatrazz music demands.

Both vintage and timeless, the new album V treads the Alcatrazz textured-territories of old but with renewed vigor and verve. Whether it be the choral-echoes sitting inside the storming tempest which is “Nightwatch,” the staunch, speedy melodic metal of “Turn Of The Wheel” or the thick, bluesy chug of “House Of Lies,” there is little doubt that this Alcatrazz is going full-tilt with not one ounce of a shackle holding them back. In that regard, White’s supreme vocal work on all 12 tracks serves as the catalyst for their creative synergy, and not only that, his supremely positive energy brings the band closer than it has been since, well, 1986!

Produced by Giles Lavery and Jimmy Waldo, and mixed by Andy Haller (Elton John, Joe Cocker and System of a Down), V also includes guest appearances from Saxon’s Nigel Glockler (drums on “Guardian Angel” and “Blackheart”), Tank’s Cliff Evans (bass on “Grace of God”) and Donnie Van Stavern of Riot (bass on “Guardian Angel”, “Nightwatch” and “Target”), underscoring how perennially popular Alcatrazz’s music remains with their peers.

And just in case you’re wondering what V stands for? Alcatrazz’s fifth studio album of course… but it also stands just as resolutely for Victory; the victory that sees Alcatrazz 2021 stronger than ever despite all the odds.

Track Listing:
1. Guardian Angel
2. Nightwatch
3. Sword Of Deliverance
4. Turn Of The Wheel
5. Blackheart
6. Grace Of God
7. Return To Nevermore
8. Target

10. House Of Lies
11. Alice’s Eyes
12. Dark Day For My Soul

Sans plus pour moi ce nouveau single.
Los Angeles-born heavy metal icons, Alcatrazz, have unleashd the ferocious new single, "Don’t Get Mad…Get Even" (feat. Girlschool), taken from the upcoming album, Take No Prisoners, set for release via Silver Lining Music on May 19.

The track sees Alcatrazz collaborating with the legendary Girlschool in a full-force, head-banging fist-pumper.

“’Don't Get Mad...Get Even’ is a very Thin Lizzy, AC/DC-ish type of tune,” says Jimmy Waldo, Alcatrazz’s keyboardist and founding member. “To make it even better we have our friends Girlschool joining us on the chorus, we recorded this during our last European tour when both bands were together, it turned out fantastic!”

“On a day off during the tour, in a hotel room in France, we were suddenly asked to jump in and sing the chorus on a new Alcatrazz song,” adds Girlschool’s drummer Denise Dufort, “Jimmy Waldo had his mobile recording gear on the road, we all got round the microphone, we had fun doing this one, and it's a really good song, a great hard rock song!”

The video for "Don’t Get Mad…Get Even" (feat. Girlschool), by Natalia Jonderko Śmiechowicz, can be viewed below.

Alcatrazz are determined to make up for lost time, roaring forwards at warp factor 10 to deliver Take No Prisoners, their sixth studio album and the third in three years. Comprising of ten cracking, charismatic tracks, with each containing the unique fusion of classic American rock with the full grain hard-rocking attitude of British metal, Take No Prisoners sees Alcatrazz energetically soaring and exploring melodic progression with road-warrior riffs. "Little Viper" rides a scything guitar into a thunderous, Dio-like assault, whilst the band also show their calmer, more expansive side with the epic "Strangers", but when an album finishes at the burn point of "Bring On The Rawk", there can be no question that Alcatrazz’s collective boot is repeatedly kicking serious ass!

Comprised of Doogie White (vocals), Joe Stump (guitars), Jimmy Waldo (keyboards), Gary Shea (bass) and Larry Paterson (drums), and with Giles Lavery and Waldo producing, Take No Prisoners is a loudly, and proudly classic rock album which draws on the Alcatrazz traditions of technically excellent screaming guitars, thunderous rhythm and the sort of vocals and overall aura that evoke prime Dio and Rainbow. And, of course, a primed and fully-tuned up Alcatrazz, whose career is fast taking on Benjamin Button proportions. The Take No Prisoners tour should be a lot of fun.

"Back in late 2020 the brilliant Doogie White came in to help us out with our then already booked live dates after the departure of the previous vocalist (those dates were ultimately postponed to late 2021 due to the Covid lockdowns).

We all had a GREAT time...and thus, one thing led to another and before we knew it we had made two fantastic albums in a nearly 4 year period.

Now our schedule is getting busier and busier, as is Doogie's with his very fine solo work... and with that, the inevitable clashing of dates in our respective diaries, and needless to say, the impossibility of him being able to be in two places at one time.

We remain on very very good terms with Doogie and cannot thank him enough for his contributions to the band, he is very welcome on our stage anytime, as are all past Alcatrazz alumni.

Current Warlord vocalist and someone already known to many Alcatrazz fans (as co-producer and also contributing songwriter for Alcatrazz's past 3 albums) Giles Lavery will be stepping up for the 2024 live dates - and with that we will be reintroducing many songs from the Alcatrazz past, including some not played in many years.

Giles's first show is 22nd of March in New Orleans, lets all make him feel welcome and please lets also give a massive thank you to our dear friend Doogie White for everything he gave to this band since 2020, he is a true pro and a great person!

Doogie has a video message to the fans that we will share later today as well." - Jimmy, Gary, Joe, Larry.
