The proposed European tour featuring reformed Swedish doom metal legends CANDLEMASS alongside CATHEDRAL and GRAND MAGUS has been officially called off. "Unfortunately, it was rather clear we couldn't get the finances together so we had to say no to that one. Bummer!!" stated CANDLEMASS bassist Leif Edling. Read Edling's latest tour report, featuring entries on the band's recent appearances at the Göteborgskalaset and Wacken Open Air festivals, at Candlemass.se.

Escapi Music has set an October 25 North American release date for the debut album from CREOZOTH, the new band featuring CANDLEMASS members Lars Johansson (guitar) and Jan Lindh (drums) alongside vocalist Michael Storck (X-PLODE, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) and bassist Tobbe Moen (ex-REDFUN, OZ).
According to Lars, the term "Creozoth" has a fictional origin: "It is about a man who eats so much that he explodes in a Monthy Python movie… it is also a 12000 year old plant that lives in the American desert, and also a deadly poison that killed many railway workers," he said.
Based in Stockholm, Sweden, CREOZOTH have been in existence for two years and are fully prepared to unleash their self-titled debut on the world. The CD was written and produced by Johansson at Soundland Studio in Upplands Väsby, Sweden and features "hard, fast or slow 'n' heavy, cool riffs, catchy choruses, tasty songs, [and] wild solos," according to Lars.

Swedish doomsters CANDLEMASS have recorded four new songs with producer Andy Sneap at the new Polar studios in Stockholm, Sweden. “The songs are pretty much in the same vein as the stuff on the [self-titled 2005] reunion album, maybe a bit darker," says bassist/songwriter Leif Edling.
CANDLEMASS's next studio session will take place in May. The band's new album is tentatively scheduled for release in October 2006
