"Well, the first stage of this tour is behind us and thank God for that. As with all tours I have ever been on over the past 20 years, all tours have bugs in the beginning. Fortunately we have top notch professional people out here from every band and we are now in smooth waters.
"My dream for Gigantour is alive and all of the bands are having a great time. But I don't know who is having a better time — you, the fans, or us, band guys. The backstage environment is one of the best I have ever been in, and I will tell you that we are all, and I mean every band, playing better every night. The DVD is going to be awesome!!!
"Thank you for supporting this dream, thank you for staying metal!
"Tomorrow night [August 2] in Dallas I am supposed to play a song with DREAM THEATER on behalf of Darryl [sic]. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I have fun since I have never jammed with another band like this. Wish me luck!"

THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN have been forced to pull out of their remaining Gigantour live dates because of an injury to guitarist Ben Weinman. Weinman severely re-injured his arm Sunday night (having originally injured it several months ago) during the tour's stop in Atlantic City, NJ and was told by a specialist yesterday that he will be unable to perform until further notice.
Weinman commented, "We were enjoying playing every night as part of Gigantour, and to not be able to finish the tour is an enormous disappointment to us."
DREAM THEATER drummer Mike Portnoy joined MEGADETH on stage for a rendition of "Peace Sells" during the two bands' joint appearance at the Toronto stop of the Gigantour festival tour on Saturday (September 3). MEGADETH skinsman Shawn Drover reportedly played guitar alongside brother Glen while Portnoy sat behind Shawn's kit.
