Il devrait y avoir d'autres pays supplémentaires l'an prochain.
Sonisphere Knebworth ends today at Knebworth Park in the UK. Adam Sagir is Head Of Press for the festival and has issued the following report:

Sonisphere UK is sold out today and in the process sold its millionth ticket. IRON MAIDEN’s only British show of the year, RAMMSTEIN’s first-ever outdoor appearance in the UK and ALICE COOPER’s first festival show for nearly 30 years clearly proved unbelievably compelling for hard rock and metal fans in the UK as up to 55,000 people attended each day. The second edition of the festival saw the same great atmosphere at Knebworth. The whole weekend ran without any major incident whatsoever and Team Sonisphere worked very closely with Hertfordshire Police to achieve a significant reduction in reported incidents of crime and in particular were pleased to see great improvements in the numbers of mobile phone, tent and car crimes.

In only its second summer, Europe’s only touring festival smashed through another milestone when it sold its millionth ticket yesterday. There were six shows last year, this year it’s 11 including the largest festivals Poland and Turkey have ever hosted. Next year it will be even more extensive.

SLAYER drummer Dave Lombardo told MusikUniverse.net that he was the only member of the veteran thrash metal act to take part in the "Big Four" jam in Sofia, Bulgaria because his bandmates "don't do that kind of thing."

Many fans were surprised to see that Lombardo was the only musician from SLAYER to perform with members of METALLICA, MEGADETH and ANTHRAX at the end of the June 22 "Big Four" concert broadcast from the Sonisphere festival in Bulgaria.

Lombardo explained to MusikUniverse.net: "I'm the only one who knows how to jam and have a good time! The other guys, they don't do that kind of thing. They just know their music when it's written and that's it — they don't know how to go up and improvise and enjoy themselves. Jeff [Hanneman; guitar] does a little bit, but not the other guys [bassist/vocalist Tom Araya and guitarist Kerry King]."

According to a message on the event's official web site, a severe thunderstorm hit Sonisphere festival in Pori, Finland this afternoon (Sunday, August 8) at approximately 4:00 p.m. Strong gusts of freak wind damaged the stages and knocked down tents and fences. Around 40 people were injured, two of them seriously, and are currently receiving treatment in hospital.

Sonisphere festival series producer Stuart Galbraith said in a statement. "Our first thoughts go out to the injured people and we sincerely hope they will have a full recovery."

The second stage was damaged beyond repair and to guarantee the safety of the audience, artists and crew the authorities closed the stage. The storm damaged MÖTLEY CRÜE's equipment, forcing the band's show to be cancelled. IGGY POP did play, performing an acoustic four-track set on the main stage, while the Sonisphere crew worked hard behind the scenes to dry everything out and make repairs to damage across the site.

Having borrowed the kit from SLAYER, ALICE COOPER is performing a full set on the main stage and IRON MAIDEN will also perform a full set, going on stage at approximately 9:50 p.m. and playing until approximately 11:50 p.m. The police and city authorities have agreed to allow IRON MAIDEN to finish later than originally planned.

"We're doing everything we can to ensure that the show can take place. The show will run so long as it can run safely," said Stuart Galbraith.

According to Billboard.biz, this year's Sonisphere festival, which visited 11 countries across Europe, had a total attendance of more than 700,000 across 19 dates.

At last year's inaugural event, around 300,000 fans attended the festival, which was staged on seven dates at six locations.

The Sonisphere cinecast from the Sofia, Bulgaria leg of the touring rock festival was seen by more than 100,000 fans, according to promoter Stuart Galbraith.

The global June 22 cinecast featured the "Big Four" of 1980s thrash metal — METALLICA, SLAYER, MEGADETH and ANTHRAX — and was beamed via satellite in HD to cinemas. It was distributed globally into hundreds of cinemas by New York-based BY Experience.

SLAYER's KERRY KING 'Feels Bad' That He Didn't Take Part In 'Big Four' Jam

Revolver magazine recently conducted an interview with SLAYER guitarist Kerry King. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.

Revolver: Why didn't you play in the Big Four jam on "Am I Evil" at the end?

Kerry: There's a damn good reason. It isn't too long an explanation. [MEGADETH's Dave] Mustaine came to me that day and [METALLICA's] James [Hetfield] came to me that day saying, "Hey, it would be really cool if you played." I knew Jeff [Hanneman, SLAYER guitarist] wouldn't do it, and I knew Tom [Araya, SLAYER bassist/vocalist] wouldn't do it. And I also knew after we played that neither one of them would edit our video that was going to cinemas in a couple hours, so I told James and Mustaine both, "Listen, man. I've gotta edit our video before I can even think about playing with you guys." So the entire time of the set change between SLAYER and METALLICA, I was editing that video. I came running to the tuning room after I got done picking the songs, and they were already onstage. And to make it an even better story, I found out at 1 a.m. the night prior, so I really had no chance to work on that stuff or anything. So I wanted to; it just couldn't happen. I've got a lot of flack for that but yeah, that's the story.

Revolver: You've mentioned the "Big Four" a few times, what is your relationship with METALLICA like these days?

Kerry: It's better than it's ever been. Not that we had any beefs with each other. Oddly enough we just completely ran in different circles. I went into this tour not really thinking METALLICA were my friends. I've known [METALLICA bassist Robert] Trujillo since [he was in] SUICIDAL [TENDENCIES], and I speak to Lars [Ulrich, METALLICA drummer] off and on, historically, but leaving this tour I feel like they're all my friends. I feel bad I didn't get to play "Am I Evil?" but I had a good time. When time allowed, I would go into Lars' world — you know, the little section right behind where he plays — and me and Dave would be back there watching the show. I got to see it there three nights out of the six or seven, and it was just fun.

Revolver: Have you talked about the possibility of doing it in the U.S.?

Kerry: Every chance I get. [Laughs]

Revolver: Were METALLICA originally supposed to be on the upcoming shows with MEGADETH and ANTHRAX?

Kerry: When ANTHRAX got brought up for the second leg, I'm like, "I'm into it." I said, "I just don't want it to have any adverse effects on the Big Four coming here." I was assured it wouldn't, so we'll see how that goes.

Revolver: You're playing "Seasons in the Abyss" on the Jägermeister tour, and last time you did that tour, you played "Reign in Blood". Why won't you be playing "South of Heaven" in your classic album tours?

Kerry: Well, that's definitely my least favorite of the three. One of those songs on there, "Cleanse the Soul", I hate that fuckin' song. There's a PRIEST song on there ["Dissident Agressor"], which I love, but I don't think that condones redoing a record, because you have a cover, for one, and a song that I, for one, hate and I think Hanneman hates as well. I think that was one that just slipped through the fuckin' sifter. Like, whoops, shouldn't have recorded that one. [Laughs]

Before the Jägermeister Music Tour's opening night in Dallas, SLAYER's Kerry King, MEGADETH's Dave Mustaine, and ANTHRAX's Scott Ian chatted backstage with SPIN.com about what's changed over the past two decades, an upcoming U.S. "Big Four" tour with METALLICA, and their "timeless" sounds. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.

SPIN.com: So who puts on the best show [on the tour]?

Mustaine: The best live show that I've ever seen is SLAYER. Their energy is just over the top. We try to play our best. But, as far as the energy and stuff, I've never seen anybody do what Kerry and SLAYER can do.

King: We're all totally different animals. I call MEGADETH nerd metal — not detrimentally, but they're guitar geeks. They blow away the guitar geeks. They're very good at what they do. And then you have guitar geeks come look at us, and they're like, "Yeah, it's kind of heavy." But the intricacies of the leads and stuff? C'mon, that's MEGADETH's specialty. We're just angry and throwing and spitting aggression. All four band (including METALLICA) started from one place and evolved into a four-headed monster. There's four very different things happening.

Mustaine: Same body; four different heads. That's a great way to put it.

SPIN.com: Who's the best guitarist on this tour?

King: It's got to be either Dave or [MEGADETH guitarist Chris] Broderick.

Ian: Yeah, I'd say either Dave or Rob [Caggiano] from our band. From a pure technical standpoint as players, they're insane. It's just like they're using a whole other language that I could never even learn.

Mustaine: Everyone's such a talent. Kerry's right hand is just so fast and articulate. And Scott has all these melodies. Everybody has their own niche. Chris Broderick is a better guitar player than I am because he's learned — I don't know the names of the scales or any of that shit. I'm self-taught, and to a degree that's what makes all us as raw as we are. I remember when Kerry and I played together — Kerry was in MEGADETH for a while when we couldn't secure another guitar player — and just the two of us playing together, it was just so cool. We were from two different worlds, but we were converging on this new style. And I knew that something was going to happen. When Kerry came over and helped us out — those concerts are legendary. Watch them on YouTube. The filming is shit. But the concerts were legendary.

Ian: You've got all these guys with just amazing right hands on this tour. The rhythm capabilities of everyone is second-to-none.
