ANNOUNCEMENT: WARLORD -- "Live Line-Up" ------- First let me say this. When Mark, Rick, and I embarked on this new venture of doing a new Warlord album, I had no intention of doing any live shows, mostly because of my health situation (as many of you know). However, when we were invited by Oliver Weinsheimer of 'KEEP IT TRUE' to headline that German festival, and when I received clearance from my doctor that I could physically endure such a trip to Europe, suddenly we were approached by Greek promoters as well. Now, Thessaloniki and Athens were on the table. I realized (along with Mark) that the Warlord fans would primarily want to hear "classic Warlord." And as you know, there is a distinction between the "classic Warlord" sound and the "new Warlord" sound (which will one day become "classic" as well). Although Rick is the perfect (ideal) singer for the "new" Warlord, I knew we had to find someone who could approximate the "higher range" style of the early Warlord vocalists. I had heard our friend "Giles Lavery" sing "Lucifer's Hammer" already and I asked him to send me an audition tape of five songs . . . here, you will find excerpts from that audition tape (no 20 minute trailer here), and you will understand "why" I (we) decided to go with someone like "Giles," who is not only a great vocalist in the higher range (as well as the AOR style), but he is someone who has been a Warlord fan since his youth, and is a person who understands the mindset of "the Warlord fan." In sum, "Rick is better suited to sing the new Warlord material while Giles is better suited to sing the classic Warlord material." So, here is a taste of "Giles Lavery" as the Warlord vocalist for the upcoming live shows.

Heavy metallers Warlord will be now fronted by Arrayan Path main man Nicholas Leptos. Richard Martin ''Damien King III'' Anderson is no longer the singer of the band even though he sang on the band's latest album The Holy Empire. Nicholas Leptos was chosen bearing in mind the new album from the band and the live shows as well.

Bill Tsamis made the announcement: "Although Rick Anderson did a phenomenal job for us on The Holy Empire and Giles Lavery performed extremely well during the Warlord shows in April 2013, I have had my eye on Nicholas Leptos now for a long time for a few reasons: (1) The music for the next Warlord album will offer a heavier, epic power metal soundscape in which the voice of Nicholas will elevate our sound into a whole new realm. His vocals are ideal for the powerful epic material that I am composing for the next Warlord album. (2) Nicholas has also proven that he can perfectly cover every Warlord singer 'live.' In short, Nicholas Leptos will not only be able to carry Warlord into an even more epic future, but he will also be able to present the classic Warlord material in a 'live context,' perfectly covering every Warlord vocalist that has come before him. Needless to say, we are very excited to have Nicholas on board. In a word, he is the ideal Damien King that we had been looking for since the inception of Warlord. 'To the swords to the guns'."

Frontiers Music Srl has announced the signing of legendary U.S. metallers WARLORD for the release of a new studio album in 2018.

Long admirers of the band and having gotten to know drummer Mark Zonder through his work with GRAHAM BONNET BAND and the upcoming group SPIRITS OF FIRE (which also features Tim "Ripper" Owens, Chris Caffery and Steve DiGiorgio), Frontiers approached Zonder about the prospect of doing a new WARLORD disc. Luckily for the label, Zonder and co-founder/guitarist William J. Tsamis were very much open to the idea.

Says Zonder: "After all of these years, WARLORD is with a 'real label.'

"It will be great to have WARLORD music shared with a worldwide audience, which is something that has been missing for many years.

"With my prior working experiences with Frontiers, I know WARLORD is in the right place and I am very appreciative of this great opportunity.

"We thank everyone at the label for their belief in WARLORD!"

In September 2013, Tsamis and Zonder announced that they had tapped vocalist Nicholas Leptos of ARRAYAN PATH and ASTRONOMIKON to be the new WARLORD singer. This lineup, along with bassist Philip Bynoe, will be featured on the upcoming album.

Zonder says: "This WARLORD release will be like all of the previous ones — 100% WARLORD. No changing of direction to keep up with the current fad, just good ol'-school WARLORD music. Maybe leaning back a touch to the early days and we promise a high-energy album that features the classic Bill Tsamis compositions and his classic guitar melody lines.

"As I always try to do, I'll give it my all in tandem with my favorite bass player Philip Bynoe, working together to create a solid foundation.

"This will be the first studio recording with Nicholas Leptos on vocals. We have performed live with him several times and are eagerly awaiting to capture his dynamic performances on tape. A classic WARLORD album in the making…"
