Notoriously infamous for their blood-soaked, fiery live-perfomances and morbid ways, Watain have many times been refered to as "the new usurpers of the Black Metal throne". Their third album "Sworn to the Dark" was released in early 2007 and was welcomed worldwide as one of the most important releases of the genre in years. After having toured the world with bands like Dissection, Celtic Frost and Angelcorpse, it is now time for Watain's first headliner tour in Europe. Beware... This Singaporean Beast of evil has been around since the dawn of extreme metal, but unlike most of their contemporaries, they have refused to soften up and follow trends. Espère que ces dates françaises ne vont pas faire un bide...
Quoi qu'il en soit, c'était excellent à Gand dimanche dernier, et ce même si Impiety n'a joué qu'une demi heure pour cause de retard. Mais quel concert! Le "chaos maitrisé", avec une reprise de Darkness, "death squad". Quant à Watain, le concert le plus puant auquel j'ai assisté, au sens propre du terme!
En effet, je ne sais pas avec quelle matière ils s'enduisent, mais qu'est-ce qu'ils daubent!!! 1h20 de "heavy/black/thrash" décapante... passée à se boucher les narines!

Une centaine de personnes à Rennes dans la petite salle du Jardin Moderne.

Venu principalement pour Watain car connaissant très peu Impiety (réminiscences de 10 ans...), le groupe de Singapour m'a démonté et a convaincu tout le monde !! (Hail Mr Demonomancer !) La tuerie fut en sept temps.

Watain n'a pas démérité, mais n'a pas selon moi fait l'unanimité dans la salle. 8 titres interpretés, 4 du dernier lp, 2 du 2e, 1 du 1er et 'Somberlain' de Dissection.
