Harry Conklin (Jag Panzer) de retour dans Satan's Host

Bon, le seul intérêt de cette reformation c'est la présence du fantastique chanteur Harry Conklin (Jag Panzer), sinon Satan's Host était quand même un groupe plus que médiocre (pour être gentil) à l'époque du premier album en 1986, je ne sais pas comment ils ont fait pour devenir "kvlt" dans certains milieux. A moins que la thématique pseudo-satanique et la rareté suffisent...

Après le départ de Conklin, Satan's Host avait ensuite complètement changé de style pour un death/black jusqu'à récemment, avec une imagerie clownesque et des clips trve ivole 666 grotesques à mourir de rire. Je me demande quand même ce qui motive un mec aussi talentueux que Conklin à revenir dans ce cirque...

Denver, Colorado-based black metallers SATAN'S HOST check in with the following update:

"Satan's Host welcomes back Leviathan Thisiren (aka Harry Conklin- JAG PANZER, TITAN FORCE) back into the Grotto.

The group has upcoming appearances on March 27th at Club Inferno at PT's in Denver, Colorado; and at the Keep It True festival in Koenigshofen, Germany on April 23rd.

Due to the large cult following of the 1986 debut album Metal From Hell and 1987 bootlegged unreleased Midnight Wind, virtuoso guitarist and founder Patrick Evil states, "the idea for a reunion with Harry has been building up for a number of years, I felt that this was the right time to go ahead with it, me and Harry have felt that we had unfinished business to attend to, and we're heading full force!"

Along with drummer Anthony Lopez and bassist Margar, the group has been in pre-production on the upcoming release featuring Harry on vocals on Moribund Cult Records tentivly due summer/fall 2010.

The band is going into Flatline Studio with super producer Dave Otero (CEPHALIC CARNAGE, MARTRIDEN) in July.

Power~Purity~Perfection…999, which was released via Moribund Cult in October 09 and helmed by Dave Otero, has been well received around the world and has gained high rank within the metal world with many outstanding reviews on the effort.

“The new material is in the same vein as PPP…999, but a bit more explosive and surprising, we’ve added some very interesting twists to the music and the concept, Pat is a cornucopia of Evil Music, regardless what has been said or stated in the past, he has always been the strong hold of the music and the life force of Satan’s Host”, Anthony Lopez quoted.

The band also has a new DVD Assault of Evil…666, slated for release April 13th, 2010 via Moribund Cult Records which features the Great American Scapegoat tour ’08. Bonus material includes performances from the last 2 decades, and the band’s Samhain 09 show."

Je pense qu'il a décidé d'être présent à toutes les éditions du Keep It True maintenant quel que soit le groupe avec lequel il joue...

je n'ai qu'un seul album de Satan's host c'est clair que c'est très moyen, du coup, j'ai pas creusé plus loin mais peut être que Harry, le chanteur qui nous veut du bien,Conklin va vouloir sortir un nouvel album, et vu comment son chant est hallucinant, ça peut toujours le faire.

Ben officiellement il n'y en a qu'un.

Réédité uniquement en bootleg CD, ainsi qu'un deuxième album jamais commercialisé qui a lui aussi fini par circuler en bootleg, avec un son ignoble (et une reprise de Jag Panzer).

J'ai le nouveau ex-chanteur comme ami fessebouc. Il m'avait ajouté moi et un pote après qu'on soit devenu ami avec David Shankle. Faudrait que je fasse le ménage dans mes contacts.

Le seul truc fun que je trouve sur le deuxième album aujourd'hui c'est Tyrant qui bat ses records personnels de notes aiguës.

Mais c'est plus kitsch qu'autre chose.

Il n'y a qu'un seul album officiel avec Harry Conklin (dont Romain parlait), c'est à dire Metal from Hell, c'est ça que je voulais dire.

+ Midnight Wind qui n'était pas "officiel".
J'excluais (abusivement) tous les albums suivants de la reformation dans les années 90 qui n'ont plus rien à voir, le groupe a complètement changé de line-up et de registre en passant du heavy metal au death/black metal. Le seul point commun ce sont les paroles ultra clichées.

J'imagine que c'est pour ça qu'ils ont gardé le même nom, mais je suppute.

harry concklin chante sur celui là.
j'en esperais beaucoup,je suis deçu,le groupe poursuit sur son style black/death us avec du chant heavy metal.
j'aurais prefere qu'ils enregistre enfin "midnight winds" tant pis

Midnight Winds, j'en avais trouvé un cd, mais c'était un pressage suisse limité à 200 exemplaires je crois, un truc pas officiel évidemment...

Ben il est pas mal du tout le dernier satan's host! Tu l as écouté ? Je le trouve presque meilleure le Jag panzer, enfin surtout parcequ il est plus surprenant et original. Mais c'est bien meilleur que ce que j'ai pu entendre au Keep it true

Pas acheté mais écouté une fois, et je partais avec un à priori très négtif, et je ne suis pas du tout rentré dedans.
A part le chant extraordinaire de Conklin, je n'ai pas aimé grand chose musicalement.

Moi je n'ai écouté que leur album des 80's...et j'avais trouvé ça franchement mauvais (le son atroce n'aidant pas).

Pareil, c'est rigolo Satan's Host, Harry Conkin crie comme un damné et battait tous ses records de suraigus sur le premier album, mais musicalement je trouve ça très limité. Mais si Cardinal dit que le nouveau est différent, je lui donnerai une chance.

j'imagine qu'il est différent parce que le premier je l'ai pas vraiment écouté (un titre en streaming y a x années). Là le chant est bien varié et y a un côté bien épique sur certaines compos. Par contre y a pas de chant suraigu même si y a de belles démonstrations techniques côté chant, mais ce que j'aime le plus sur ce disque c'est les grattes qui sont bien moins saoûlantes que les dernières Prod de Jag Panzer, pis le côté dark progressif me plait bien. Me le suis encore écouté cet après midi et je reste convaincu qu'il faut lui donner une chance

Franchement un des tous meilleures albums de Heavy sorti cette année (c'est même écrit sur le sticker du CD

Apparemment c'est bien parti pour occuper Harry un moment ce projet... un album compil' réenregistré va sortir pour novembre

"Satanic metal warlords SATAN'S HOST will enter Flatline Studios on July 18 with producer Dave Otero (CEPHALIC CARNAGE, COBALT) to begin recording a "celebration album" to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the band's debut LP, the cult classic "Metal From Hell". The as-yet-untitled compilation will contain a few new songs and revamped versions of classic tunes that span the band's career, with returned original vocalist Leviathan Thisiren (a.k.a. Harry Conklin of JAG PANZER and TITAN FORCE) offering his unique take on the songs. Tracks set to appear on the CD include brand-new songs "For The Love Of Satan" and "Conviction", the title cut to "Metal From Hell", "Witches Return", "Nightside Of Eden", "H.E.L.L.", "Dark Priest (Lord Ahriman)", and the title track to "Satanic Grimoire". A November release via Moribund Records is expected.

In other news, a special "making-of" documentary for SATAN'S HOST's latest album, "By The Hands Of The Devil", can be viewed below.

bon je suis le seul à écouter ce truc, mais pour moi c'est l'album de l'année! supra-accrocheur ce truc et conklin est énorme!

j'ai tellement aimé même musicalement que je me suis payé le précédent ("Power, Purity, Perfection - 999") et c'est vraiment super coolos dans le style Heavy-Black-Thrash ricain... bon faut aimé les trucs à la Bewitched mais ça tombe bien je suis fan

'tain ce groupe je pouvais pas les supporter au Keep It True mais je vais finir par avoir la totale

mais franchement les defenders jeté une oreille sur le dernier c'est excellent et rafraichissant dans le style heavy metôl

Colorado's SATAN'S HOST will be releasing Celebration For The Love Of Satan on November 22nd in North America and a day earlier internationally via Moribund Records. The new disc is a compilation of two new songs and songs from each album that spans the career of the band, except from earlier 2011 release By The Hands Of The Devil, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the release of the cult classic and debut album Metal From Hell. The new disc was once again recorded with producer Dave Otero at Flatline Audio in Denver, Colorado and has exclusive artwork by world-renowned artists Chris Moyen and Joe Petagno (MOTÖRHEAD) and photography by Brent Boutte of Mirrorlife Productions.

Satan's Host recently re-signed with Moribund Records for another two-album deal with exclusive options. The band will also be one of the headliners at the Up The Hammers festival in Athens, Greece in March 2012 and will also be appearing at the Gothic Theatre for the fourth-annual Raven Eggs and Kegs Radio Show Halloween Bash hosted by Raven on October 21 in Denver, Colorado.
