According to iTunes, SLIPKNOT's fifth album will be titled ".5: The Gray Chapter" and will be made available on October 21 via Roadrunner. The CD will include 14 songs, plus two bonus tracks for the deluxe edition.

"The Devil In I", the official first single from ".5: The Gray Chapter", can be streamed below. The disc follows up 2008's "All Hope Is Gone" and is the band's first without founding bassist Paul Gray, who died in 2010, and drummer Joey Jordison, who was let go late last year.
In a recent interview with BBC Radio 1's "Rock Show", SLIPKNOT singer Corey Taylor described "The Devil In I" as "completely different" from the song "The Negative One", which was released on August 1 via the band's official web site. "It's more melodic, but it's dark, [and] it's powerful, man," Taylor said about "The Devil In I". "It's something different. People are gonna lose their minds when they hear that."

Corey recently described the musical direction of the new SLIPKNOT material as "a great mesh of [2001's] 'Iowa' and [2004's] 'Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)'." He explained: "You've got the gorgeous melodies and the artistic direction of 'Vol. 3' and then you've got the absolute brutality of 'Iowa'. And I think people are gonna lose their minds when they hear it."
Je vais peut-être bien me faire taper dessus par certains pour ce topic, mais bon il a pas moins sa place que certains autres!
A voir si ça intéresse du monde, au pire ça alimentera encore des débats houleux...

J'ai le premier et le troisième album de ce groupe,et je trouve que c'est tout bonnement de la merde.
Même si par certains côtés, j'apprécie le travail sur la production, que ce soit celui de R.Robinson ou de R.Rubin.

Qu'est-ce que c'est nul!! Slipknot est mort depuis de nombreuses années de toute façon (cf les 2 derniers albums moisis). Dommage, j'appréçiais particulièrement les 2 1ers albums.

Tu as bien fait d'ouvrir ce topic. Les 3 premiers extraits sont du pur Slipknot, comme tout l'album au final. Une franche réussite !

Ça semble s'énerver plus que sur les 2 dernières galettes mais on reste loin du niveau des 2 1ers je trouve.

L'album s'écoute avec quelques titres pas trop mauvais, mais bon dans l'ensemble je suis pas très emballé!

L'un des guitaristes, Mick Thomson, s'est battu avec son frère et a été poignardé à l'arrière de la tête. Ils semblaient ivres d'après les officiers de police (et peut être en désaccord après avoir écouté le dernier Slipknot). D'après C. Taylor, Mick va bien :
KCCI.com is reporting that Mick Thomson of Slipknot was stabbed in the head during an altercation with his brother. The report reads:
Police said two brothers were injured early Wednesday morning in a knife fight in a Clive front yard.
Clive police said police were dispatched to 1905 NW 129th Street, where a caller said two brothers were fighting in the front yard with knives.
Police said Mickeal Gordon Thomson, 41, who lives at the home, and Andrew Thomson, of Des Moines, were involved in some sort of altercation inside the home.
According to police, the altercation spilled into the front yard, where the incident became physical.
Officers said both men appeared to be intoxicated and had serious injuries consistent with a fight. Police said Mickael Thomson sustained a stab wound to the back of his head. None of the injuries were life-threatening.

Très moyen. Quelques bons titres en début d'album mais dans l'ensemble le groupe s'auto-plagie et se force quelque peu.

Dans les mags ou sur les websine, l"album est super bien noté par contre. 8.5 dans Hard rock Magazine par exemple.
