Super voix forcement, bonnes melodies...

Joe Lynn Turner's popular AOR side project with German/American producer Dennis Ward, SUNSTORM, will release its third album, entitled "Emotional Fire", on February 24, 2012 in Europe (February 28 in North America) via Frontiers Records.

Born after Turner met with Frontiers Records' president Serafino Perugino, the SUNSTORM project was a way to dig up some old gems, written by the former RAINBOW, DEEP PURPLE and YNGWIE MALMSTEEN singer during the mid-'80s. The task was to create an ultimate Joe Lynn Turner melodic rock "dream collection." This brought on the release of the first SUNSTORM album in 2006 — which was met with much critical acclaim — and the follow-up, "House Of Dreams", three years later.

While the first two albums' basic inspiration came from the melodic rock catalogue of songs that Turner penned for himself or other artists of the genre, for this third album, Frontiers and Joe Lynn Turner decided to look at Turner's numerous vocal sessions he did in the '80s as a background vocalist for other artists. This brought on a resurrection of some of Michael Bolton's melodic rock gems such as "Gina", (originally included on "The Hunger" album, where Turner contributed background vocals), "You Wouldn't Know Love" and "Emotional Fire", which Bolton penned for the "Heart Of Stone" album by Cher (in which Turner also appeared as background vocalist).

"I sang background on the original 'Gina'," says Joe, "Michael and I did all of the parts but I tried to rock it up a bit more than the original… not so pop! Good song though! It's funny…I heard 'Emotional Fire' from Desmond Child during a writing session and then he asked me to sing background vocals on it! Crazy! It's like one big circle!"

With production and mixing once again under the expert hands of Dennis Ward (PINK CREAM 69, PLACE VENDOME, ANGRA) and a track listing rounded out by some amazing songs written by the likes of Soren Kronkvist (CRASH THE SYSTEM, ISSA), Tom and James Martin (VEGA, SUNSTORM, KHYMERA) and Daniel Palmqvist (XORIGIN, THE MURDER OF MY SWEET), the third SUNSTORM album, "Emotional Fire", is destined to reignite the melodic rock passion in every fan.

"I think this record has a good mix of songs," concludes Joe, "Just what SUNSTORM is supposed to be! Dennis Ward is a great producer and the players are amazing. I have to say I am pleased with the work we did and hope that everyone else will be pleased as well… Enjoy!"

"Emotional Fire" track listing:

01. Never Give Up
02. Emotional Fire
03. Lay Down Your Arms
04. You Wouldn't Know Love
05. Wish You Were Here
06. Torn In Half
07. Gina
08. The Higher You Rise
09. Emily
10. Follow Your Heart
11. All I Am

Je pense que Hughes en a eu ras le bol :D :D :D
Pas assez funky.

Et reprendre King of dreams, Street of dreams, Can't let you go, I surrender pendant 2 tournées consécutives : il a du frôler la dépression.
Ce qui peut expliquer des albums comme Music for the divune ou FUNK ... ;)

JLT is working on another Sunstorm CD. This is the 4th Sunstorm album. Alessandro Delvecchio is Producer and co-wrote all songs with other outside writers. Joe should finish the recording near the end of November. The release should be in the Spring of 2016, but there is not a definite release date yet.

Voilà les infos et un extrait :

Here is the first song from the upcoming Sunstorm album, EDGE OF TOMORROW! Influenced by the hard rock of 2014's Rated X project for Frontiers, the latest installment in the Sunstorm series sees Joe blending the AOR of the past albums with more rock influence. Check out the awesome "The Sound Of Goodbye" written by the one and only Jim Peterik.

Only the Good will Survive" :innocent:
Legendary hard rock vocalist Joe Lynn Turner's SUNSTORM project will release its fifth album, "The Road To Hell", on June 8 via Frontiers Music Srl. The first single from the effort, "Only The Good Will Survive", can be streamed below.

Any hardcore fan of hard rock will certainly be no stranger to the story of Joe Lynn Turner's career. From his early days with FANDANGO to his successful stints fronting RAINBOW, DEEP PURPLE and Yngwie Malmsteen and through his heralded solo career, the New Jersey-born singer has had his vocal talents on display for decades now.

Turner says: "The key to a great song is in the writing, performance, melody and lyrics. Anyone who loves melodic hard rock will not be disappointed with the first song! Personally, I love the positive message that it conveys to the listener... and the chorus is extremely memorable... The music is tight and compelling and played brilliantly. Turn it up loud and enjoy a great kick off to a rocking summer!"

Years ago, Turner got in touch with Frontiers president Serafino Perugino and after discussions between the two, the idea of unearthing some classic melodic rock gems to craft the definitive Joe Lynn Turner AOR album came about. This brought about the release of the first SUNSTORM album in 2006, and then came "House of Dreams" in 2009, "Emotional Fire" in 2012, and the definitively more hard-rocking "Edge Of Tomorrow" in 2016.

The new album, "Road To Hell", once again featuring production from HARDLINE's Alessandro Del Vecchio and guitars by DGM's Simone Mularoni, continues in the same hard rock direction that was started on "Edge Of Tomorrow" and that JLT's vocal talents shine so brightly in when performing this style.

"The Road To Hell" track listing:

01. Only The Good Will Survive
02. The Road To Hell
03. On The Edge
04. Blind The Sky
05. My Eyes On You
06. Future To Come
07. Everywhere
08. Resurrection
09. Calling
10. State Of The Heart
11. Still Fighting

SUNSTORM is:

Joe Lynn Turner - Lead Vocals
Alessandro Del Vecchio - Hammond Organ, Keyboards, Backing Vocals
Simone Mularoni - Guitar
Nik Mazzucconi - Bass
Edo Sala - Drums
As previously reported, Turner was hospitalized last Friday in Belarus "with a heart issue." The singer's hospitalization was first reported by the Russian state news agency RIA Novosti, which quoted the press service of the Ministry of Health of Belarus as saying that his condition was "stable" after he was treated at a Minsk facility for "myocardial infarction," commonly known as a heart attack. Turner's presence at the hospital was also reported by Belarus's most influential daily newspaper, the state-owned SB Belarus Segodnya.

Frontiers said in a statement: "[The] press release [announcing the new SUNSTORM album] and the release of this song were scheduled well ahead of this weekend’s news that Joe Lynn Turner was hospitalized. We at Frontiers, who have worked with Joe for years, wish to extend our sincere and heartfelt wishes that Joe has a speedy recovery and is back to commanding the stage soon, as he has done for decades. Get well soon, JLT!"

SUNSTORM, a project created, overseen, and directed by president and A&R director of Frontiers Records Serafino Perugino, was originally designed to showcase a musical style similar to singer Joe Lynn Turner's melodic rock/AOR roots. After five successful releases, SUNSTORM will now be a vehicle for one of the most impressive vocal talents to emerge in recent years in the form of RAINBOW singer Ronnie Romero. Romero's debut album with SUNSTORM, "Afterlife", will be released on March 12. Fans can get their first taste of the album with the release of the single and video for the track "Swan Song".

Given Turner's desire to work on heavier music styles and move away from the original melodic rock direction of the early SUNSTORM albums that Perugino wanted to bring the band back to (a demand often made by followers of the band), it appeared SUNSTORM might be at an end. But Perugino decided to follow his instincts and keep the project alive and move it back towards the original musical style that was established with the early albums. But with Turner out of the picture, who could replace the formidable vocalist?

Ronnie's name came about when the label decided that continuing the successful project was a must and that the music being crafted would put it back at the forefront of the scene… assuming the right vocalist was involved. And who better than Romero with his powerful vocal style?

With producer Alessandro Del Vecchio as usual handling the songwriting and Perugino overseeing the A&R and creative direction, the new SUNSTORM album will surely catch many in the melodic rock fanbase by surprise. For the first time, the amazing Ronnie Romero enters into melodic hard rock territory… and with outstanding results.

On joining SUNSTORM, Romero says: "For me, it's very special to join and take part in the new SUNSTORM album since it always was one of my all time favorite Frontiers projects. To accept the huge task and responsibility of replacing JLT is a challenge I just couldn't pass on. To work with Alessandro was fantastic. We have very melodic and strong songs throughout the album and I'm pretty sure the SUNSTORM fans are gonna love every track, as I do. Especially the singles, but 'Swan Song' is probably my favorite. A very melodic song, a lot of backing vocals (something that I always wanted to do, a special and different approach on the vocal production side for me), the band sounds fantastic and it will be one of the highlights on the album, guaranteed! Can't wait for the fans to listen to the album!! At this point, it's cranking in my car every day."

Del Vecchio says: "'Swan Song' is a very special song to me. Maybe you write a song or a letter or whatever and it's you conveying your instinct that something that will happen in the future? Like a future you are envisioning through your words? Here's what this song is about. Anybody can relate to losing a friend or breaking up in a relationship and crying out your own swan song. I honestly think this is one of the best songs Simone and I ever wrote together and it showcases Ronnie's melodic and emotional side of his voice and Simone's best soloing on top of a very inspired band. I couldn't be happier that Frontiers chose this song as the first single. The perfect bridge into our future as a band. Melodic, deep, inspired and anthemic. This is SUNSTORM at its best."

Lineup:

Ronnie Romero - Vocals
Simone Mularoni - Guitars
Alessandro Del Vecchio - Keyboards, backing vocals
Nik Mazzucconi - Bass
Michele Sanna - Drums

Frontiers Music Srl to announces the August 5 release of Brothers In Arms, the new Sunstorm album, the second to feature lead vocalist Ronnie Romero (Michael Schenker, Lords Of Black).

Romero’s debut album with Sunstorm, Afterlife, was released in early 2021 and showcased a rejuvenation of Sunstorm's previous musical formula, mixing melodic rock/AOR with more '70s oriented hard rock, ala Rainbow (for which Romero performed as singer). That recipe is perfected on Brothers In Arms with new guitarist Luca Princiotta (Doro, Blaze) joining the lineup of Romero, bassist Nik Mazzucconi, drummer Michele Sanna, and keyboardist Alessandro Del Vecchio.
