Ils bossent sur leur prochain album

Italian metallers SECRET SPHERE have finished laying down 18 new song ideas for the follow-up to 2005's "Heart & Anger". Pre-production on the new CD will start in two weeks at the studio of Federico Pennazzato, the group's new drummer.

Commented guitarist/mastermind Aldo Lonobile: "The general sound of the new songs is heavier than before — more dramatic and dark. We're still writing the concept behind [the new album]. We are taking many influences from a famous movie director, so the writing process will [take] a bit longer, but we will take the necessary time to compose quality songs."

Italian power metallers SECRET SPHERE will release their seventh album, "Portrait Of A Dying Heart", before the end of the year through Warner Music (Japan) and Scarlet Records (rest of the world). The CD will feature a 40-page booklet, including the novel "She Complies With The Night" on which the album is based.

A trailer for "Portrait Of A Dying Heart" can be seen below.

SECRET SPHERE earlier in the year announced the addition of former VISION DIVINE and THAUROROD vocalist Michele Luppi to the group's ranks.

Said Luppi in a statement: "'Portrait Of A Dying Heart' is by far one of the best album I've done."

He added, "I wanna thank [the other members of SECRET SPHERE] for their trust and belief, and I'm willing to share all my experience and passion in order to write and perform our music the best way we can... For us and, most of all, for you."

After 12 years, six albums, and tours around the world, Roberto "Ramon" Messina decided to leave SECRET SPHERE due to musical differences.

SECRET SPHERE's sixth album, "Archetype", was released in Europe in September 2010 via Scarlet Records.

Ils vont ressortir leur 2ème album, qui a été ré-enregistré pour le coup et présente un nouvel artwork :
Secret Sphere have revealed the cover artwork for the re-recording of their 2001 classic ‘A Time Never Come’, which will be available starting from April 28th, 2015 on Scarlet Records. The artwork has been revamped by celebrated artist Nathalia Suellen (DARK MOOR, Almah).

‘A Time Never Come’ is Secret Sphere's now legendary second release, the one that jumpstarted the band’s career and is now considered one of European Power Metal’s finest moments. The album, originally sounding like a cross between Queensrÿche, Helloween and Fates Warning, with plenty of captivating melodies and great orchestral arrangements, has now been completely re-recorded by Secret Sphere’s current line-up, including renowned singer Michele Luppi, with whom the band released their latest masterpiece ‘Portrait Of A Dying Heart’ and mixed by Simone Mularoni (DGM) at Domination Studio.

This is how Secret Sphere’s mastermind Aldo Lonobile commented the event: “Due to an overwhelming demand, we had initially planned to re-release ‘A Time Never Come’ exclusively for the Japanese market, but later on we thought that would have been cool to make it available in all the other territories. This is album has been a milestone for our career and this year marks the 15th anniversary of us entering the studio to record it. We didn’t want it to be a nostalgic move but give the album a new life, with new arrangements and new graphics. Mission accomplished if you ask me!”

Power metallers Secret Sphere recently joined Frontiers Music Srl and promised new releases, including a new album and their first live release. Indeed, they just announced the release of One Night In Tokyo on October 14th! During the band's last Japanese tour, in support of the Special Anniversary Edition of their signature album A Time Never Come, Secret Sphere had the chance to record their show in Tokyo in its entirety. To enhance the celebration, the band agreed to the label's suggestion to release a brand new version of "Lie To Me," featuring a duet between Michele Luppi and former Nightwish singer Anette Olzon.

The result is a stellar performance in a very welcoming atmosphere, a night to remember, where the band played their classic songs with true passion and energy to a wildly receptive audience. The same passion and energy that you can expect from the band's next studio release, which is currently in the writing stages.

Guitarist Aldo Lonobile says: "Since I started the band, the idea of recording our first live album in Japan was the ultimate goal! All my musical heroes described their experiences in Japan with a happiness and a warmth that you could almost feel. That was the truth, among the most loyal fans in the world, and I am 100% happy that Frontiers liked the idea to release our first live album!"

Prochain album en juin :
Frontiers Music Srl will release "The Nature Of Time", SECRET SPHERE's ninth studio album, on June 2.

The new recording celebrates 20 years of hard work that started back in 1997 with the release of the band's widely praised debut album, "Mistress Of The Shadowlight". Since then, SECRET SPHERE has evolved and developed its unique style into what has become a trademark sound, making it one of an elite group of bands putting the Italian metal scene on the global map. The addition of extraordinary singer Michele Luppi (also currently serving as keyboardist and background vocalist for the legendary hard rock act WHITESNAKE) in 2012 brought the band to the next level. This was evidenced by his first release with the band, "Portrait Of A Dying Heart", receiving wide fan and critical acclaim and landing on many metal journalists best releases of 2012 lists.

"The Nature Of Time" proves to be the ultimate showcase of the band's skill in composing highly orchestrated songs and introducing their foray into a new age of heavy rock and metal music. High-class songs with amazing choruses, big vocals, majestic orchestral arrangements, and amazing, mind-blowing, guitar heroics are the order of the day.

"The Nature Of Time" explores the "back-to-life" concept, an inward looking search of the self that can positively impact everyone's everyday life.

States guitarist Aldo Lonobile: "The long writing process of this album has been a constant 're-living' of memories and feelings that started with only instrumental pieces that were put together only in order to vent my then current state of mind: a way to express emotions purely, without any kind of 'holding back,' so to speak. I then talked to Michele and we decided these were the perfect basis for a new SECRET SPHERE record"

Adds Luppi: "What can I say about this album? We spent a few months writing songs in a way that opened the doors to our new age of heavy rock... definitely a new beginning for each member of the band, a new approach that got inspired by the concept of the album itself.

"It's not easy to open and talk about love and kindness. We chose the most direct way, no masks, only passion, energy and light guided each note leaving any kind of fear behind. Eventually, with time, we became US, not individuals... THIS IS US. Some of these songs earned a very special place in my heart."

"The Nature Of Time" track listing:

- The Calling

Chapter II - The Seven Virtues
