Le groupe vient de recruter un nouveau chanteur :
Long-running Scottish icons NAZARETH have announced that singer Linton Osborne will replace Dan McCafferty who stepped down last August due to health issues.

A band statement reads: "After extensive auditions, the band was knocked out by Linton’s voice, presence and style. And he’s a thoroughly good guy! Born in Edinburgh, Scotland and raised in Rosyth near Dunfermline, 41-year-old Linton has been singing and performing professionally for as long as he can remember. A long time fan of Nazareth and Dan McCafferty, on his selection as Nazareth’s new singer Linton simply says, 'It’s better than winning the lottery!'

As well as a passion for rock ‘n’ roll and singing, Linton also enjoys kickboxing and likes to stay in shape. His enthusiasm and energy has been a shot in the arm for the band, and a real boost after the keen sense of loss and sadness at the sudden retirement of our dear friend and brother, Dan.

Dan was pleased to hear that Linton, a ‘local lad’, had been chosen to follow in his footsteps. The two singers have met and get on very well. It seems that they have a lot in common, not least a love for old time rock ‘n’ roll, with the legendary Little Richard being a firm favorite of them both. Dan was heartfelt in expressing his feelings toward Linton and the band, wishing them good luck, safe travels and success in the future. We love you Dan.

Linton is thrilled to be a part of the bands continuing story and is excited about taking the music forward. Nazareth are now able to move ahead with rehearsals and will be back on the road very soon. See you out there…"

With a career spanning 45 years and 22 albums, Dunfermline rockers NAZARETH are back with Rock ‘N’ Roll Telephone, which is set for release on June 9th via Union Square Music.

The band’s 23rd studio album, their first since 2011’s Big Dogz, features 11 original heavy rockers and bluesy ballads. The deluxe digipack edition will include a second disc with two additional studio recordings and five live tracks, and will also be available in a double LP gatefold vinyl version.

A welcome return to form, this may be the last album to feature original singer Dan McCafferty, who has had to stand down from touring duties due to ill health. If this does prove to be Dan’s last stand, he retires on a high note with his legacy as one of rock’s greatest vocalists assured.

Rock ‘N’ Roll Telephone proves that the boys from Dunfermline, who determinedly walked to London for a chance at a career in music over four decades ago, perhaps weren’t taking quite such a risk as it may have seemed at the time.

Celebrating its 50th anniversary as a band in 2018, NAZARETH is marking the occasion with a hard-rocking new album, "Tattooed On My Brain". Scheduled for release on October 12 via Frontiers Music Srl, the effort will be available on CD, LP, and digital formats.

"Tattooed On My Brain" is NAZARETH's 24th full-length album and the first to feature new vocalist Carl Sentance (ex-PERSIAN RISK).

A track from the album, "Pole To Pole", can be streamed below.

"Pole To Pole" is available as an instant download with all digital pre-orders and on all streaming services.

NAZARETH bassist and founding member Pete Agnew says about the new album: "What I know and expect is that this record, because of our new lineup, will come under the highest scrutiny of any record in NAZARETH's history and after that, hopefully be judged as one of the best of NAZARETH's career.

"While there is always going to be hints of the classic NAZARETH sound on our albums, when you consider that all the musicians have been playing classic NAZARETH songs for most of their lives, what is fresh and inspired the new songs and new approach is the fact that we have a new singer: Carl Sentance.

"You can change band members and still keep pretty much on the same road, but there is nothing that changes a band's approach so definitively as the sound, style and performance of a new frontman. It also influences the way the other guys write songs, because mostly when you write a song for the band, you have in mind whether it will suit your singer's style and how he'll sound singing it. And, of course, with Carl, we have not only a new singer but a great new songwriter as well, so the whole project was always going to be fresher than a new laid egg, given all these ingredients we had to work with. Tastes fantastic, by the way."

While it is difficult to sum up in few words the history and the influence on the history of rock that an act like NAZARETH has had, there is no doubt that they have left an indelible mark. The band originally formed in Dunfermline, Scotland in 1968, releasing their eponymous debut album in 1971. The band broke through to a larger audience when, after supporting DEEP PURPLE on tour, they released the Roger Glover-produced "Razamanaz" album in early 1973. A string of hit records, including "Loud 'N' Proud", "Rampant" and their biggest success, "Hair Of The Dog" (featuring the smash hits "Hair Of The Dog" and "Love Hurts") followed, cementing the band's legacy in the history of hard rock. NAZARETH continued on throughout the '80s and '90s, making new studio albums and touring the world.

In 2014, original singer Dan McCafferty had to leave the band for health reasons and with his blessing, Carl Sentance is now fronting the legendary band. Rejuvenated and as energetic as ever, NAZARETH is back with an album that firmly shows their roots, but also sees the band progressing forward and seeing the future.

The band has a wealth of tour dates commencing this Friday, July 20 and running through August, before picking up again in November.

"Tattooed On My Brain" track listing:

01. Never Dance With The Devil
02. Tattooed On My Brain
03. State Of Emergency
04. Rubik's Romance
05. Pole To Pole
06. Push
07. The Secret Is Out
08. Don't Throw Your Love Away
08. Crazy Molly
09. Silent Symphony
10. What Goes Around
11. Change
12. You Call Me

NAZARETH is:

Pete Agnew - Bass
Carl Sentance - Vocals
Jimmy Murrison - Guitar
Lee Agnew - Drums

Parmi les groupes connus des années 70, c'est celui que je trouve le pire. Jamais pu apprécier plus que 2 ou 3 titres sur toute leur carrière ...

Nouvel extrait très moderne.
Frontiers Music Srl has announced the forthcoming release of legendary Scottish rock band Nazareth's new studio album, Surviving The Law, on April 15. Today, fans can get their first taste of new music from the band with the release of the single and video, "Strange Days". Watch the video below, and pre-order/save Surviving The Law on CD/LP/Cassette/Digital here.

It is difficult to sum up in few words the history and influence in the history of rock music that an act like Nazareth has had. Having celebrated their 50th Anniversary in 2018 with the release of their 24th studio album, Tattooed On My Brain, the long-running UK hard rockers will enter their 54th year of existence in 2022 with the release of their 25th studio album, Surviving The Law. The lineup for Surviving The Law is the same as the previous release, consisting of Jimmy Murrison (longest serving guitarist in the band’s history), Lee Agnew (drummer since Darrel Sweet’s death in 1999), Pete Agnew (founding member, on bass) and vocalist Carl Sentance.

Surviving The Law 'continues the new chapter that started for the band in 2018 with the arrival of vocalist Carl Sentance. In 2014, original singer Dan McCafferty had to leave the band for health reasons and with his blessing, Sentance began fronting Nazareth. Tattooed On My Brain saw Nazareth a rejuvenated band with a hard rocking album that had all the ingredients that make this band so great in the first place. As with Tattooed On My Brain, Surviving The Law was produced by Yann Rouiller at Sub Station in Scotland. The album features songwriting by all band members and continues the trend established with the previous album, showing that 25 albums into their career, the fire of rock 'n roll still burns as bright as ever at the core of Nazareth.

Nazareth originally formed in Dunfermline, Scotland in 1968, releasing their eponymous debut album in 1971. The band broke big when, after supporting Deep Purple on tour, they released the Roger Glover-produced Razamanaz album in early 1973 to critical and fan acclaim. They then released an impeccable string of hit records, including Loud 'N’ Proud, Rampant, and the smash hit Hair Of The Dog, which was released in April 1975. The album included evergreen songs such as the title track (later covered by Guns N’ Roses on their The Spaghetti Incident? album) and “Love Hurts”. The band has continued to release albums and tour the globe since, coming up on their 54th year of existence in 2022. Get ready for a very welcomed return from Nazareth.
