Astral Doors (heavy rock/metal, Suède)

Je sais pas si vous connaissez ce groupe, ils seront en première partie de Blind Guardian lors de la prochaine tournée. C'est du Heavy Metal que je situerais entre les groupes des années 80 avec ce qu'on appel du heavy speed de nos jours; La voix du chanteur est très proche de c'elle de Ronnie James Dio, la production est très bonne et les musiciens jouent très bien.

Bref si vous aimez le Heavy, j'vous conseil de porter une oreille, voir 2 sur cet album qui est une bonne surprise pour moi en ce début d'année.

pour les fans de Dio en plus de la voix ,musicalement forte ressemblance .

Astral doors était vraiment bien

Le nouvel album est dans la même veine que "Evil is forever" et est donc un véritable petit bijou!
A acheter sans hésitation si vous êtes fan comme moi (par contre, je suis moins fan des albums plus anciens...)

le dernier album d'astral doors " astralism " , je vous le conseille vivement .
il est dans la continuité du précédent ( je trouve ) " evil is forever " .
du hard des anées 80' avec un son et des compos bien maitrisées .
je trouve les solos de guitares plus évolués ( quel feeling ) .
un groupe qui mérite de percer et de connaître un succès légitime .

je vais aller prendre ma place pour aller les voir en 1ere partie de " blind guardian " ( 01/10/06 ) , en espérant qu'ils jouent assez de temps sur scène .

Je viens de me réécouter "Evil is forever", ça faisait longtemps. C'est vraiment très bon

Par contre, ça ressemble beaucoup beaucoup à Dio

Sinon, à tous ceux qui aiment la voix de ce chanteur (Nils Patrick Johansson, de son petit nom), je conseille vivement "Far from the madding crowd" de Wuthering Height, qui est un petit chef d'oeuvre

"Astralism" est déjà leur 3e album après "Evil is forever" et "Of the son and the father" (qui n'est d'ailleurs pas terrible).
Sinon, la voix de Lars Patrick Johansson me rappelle étrangement celle de Tony Martin, le chanteur intérimaire de Black Sabbath quand Dio et Iommi se font la gueule.
Je suis d'accord pour dire que sa voix ressemble à celle de Dio mais pour ma part, plus directement à celle de Tony.

Bon ben je commence à bien l'ecouter, et franchement c'est excellent !
Gros son sur cet opus, et dés la premiere ecoute, la voix m'a fait penser enormement à un autre...Et au bout de trois ecoutes j'ai enfin trouvé : Jo de Nightmare ! Et du Dio aussi parfois. Pour moi c'est assez flagrant !

Y a des titres super heavy, comme "Tears of a titan", qui me fout le banging ou que je sois !

S'ils sont en premiere partie de BG, je vais peut être me bouger jusqu'à Paris.

Ils ont fait qu'un album avant celui ci ?

Ben non, y'en a 2 avant "Astralism" et celui juste avant est vraiment du même tonneau, donc excellent!
Y'a aussi un mini LP mais je ne le connais pas.

Je suis passé à la fnac hier matin, j'ai hésité à prendre le dernier, puis comme j'avais pas mal d'autres priorités, j'ai laissé tombé....
Donc prochain achat : Astral Doors !

Ils ressortent l'album avec un bonus, et avec un mastering différent apparemment, mouais j'aime pas trop ça

Swedish metallers ASTRAL DOORS will re-release their third album, "Astralism", as a digipack, featuring a newly written bonus track, entitled "21st Century Medieval". "The sound on the album has been polished and has been remastered by a profesional," the band write on their web site. "This is how it was meant to sound from the beginning. Sounds insane but the first version slipped through without our approval. If we've had the last word the first version would never been released, that's for sure."

Les suédois black-rainbowiens sortiront leur prochain album le 15 janvier.

Swedish metallers ASTRAL DOORS have issued the following update:

"The upcoming ASTRAL DOORS album will be called 'Requiem Of Time' and it'll be released in Europe January 15 and in North America February 16 through the brand new German bandpool/label Metalville, created by some of the best people in the metal business.

"'Requiem Of Time' is a mixture of classic hard rock, like on the debut, 'Of The Son And The Father', and more modern metal like on the previous disc, 'New Revelation'. Call it what you want; it contains the best songs the band has ever written.

"Release date for Japan will be announced soon.

"Another headline story is that Mika Itaranta has left the band due to personal reasons. We wanna thank Mika for all the fun we've had. Cheers mate and good luck with everything.

"We also wanna introduce you to our new bass maniac, Ulf Lagerström. Ulf is a close friend to the band and was our first choice; a great bass player and a damn good songwriter. Pour une fois l'album ne sera pas mixé par Peter Tägtgren.

"All the previous releases from Astral Doors have been mixed by the master Peter Tägtgren (HYPOCRISY, PAIN). He has done a great job for us and we love and respect him very much. This time around however, we decided to give our very own guitar player, Martin Haglund, the chance to be in control of the mixing process. Martin has really improved as a sound engineer and technician the last couple of years, and we felt that he could do as great job as his best friend Tägtgren. The release is set to January, but we hope that we can give you a sample from the upcoming release within a month or so. Martin's mix is just incredible and we can't wait to share it with the entire world. Requiem Of Time, our fifth album is nothing but a killer. Songs like 'Testament Of Rock', 'Power And The Glory', 'When Darkness Comes' and 'St. Peters Cross' will be classics for any Astral fan, that's for sure!"

Vu que leur label Locomotive Records a fait faillite, on dirait que Chris Boldenthal (leur manager) a monté un label ou distributeur, c'est pas très précis :

Je continue mon monologue pour dire que l'un des guitaristes s'en va, en bons termes, mais qu'il ne sera pas remplacé.

Guitarist Martin Haglund has left Swedish metallers ASTRAL DOORS. He explains in a statement, "This decision has not been easy to make, but its needed. I have reached a point where I feel I have to focus more on my kids and support them in their hobbies and interests, [and] by doing that I'm not able to give ASTRAL DOORS 100%. I don't want to be the one that's holding the band back so I let go. I will continue playing, writing and record music but on a more suitable level. I'll keep the metal flowing that's for sure.
"Being a member of ASTRAL DOORS has given me experiences and memories that I'll bring to the grave. I am truly proud of my time in ASTRAL DOORS and what we have accomplished and brought to the hard-rock scene.

"Thanks and hugs to all of you!! Now ASTRAL DOORS will reload and hit you harder then ever!!"

Adds ASTRAL DOORS singer Nils Patrik Johansson: "Martin is a great guy and we wish him all the best. He did a great job with the mixing of our previous album, that's for sure. Hope the job he did with that album will open a lot of doors for him as a producer.

"ASTRAL DOORS will not bring in a new guitar player in the band to replace Martin: Joachim Nordlund (the founder of ASTRAL DOORS, together with Johan Lindstedt and Nils Patrik Johansson) will from now on handle all guitars himself."
