San Francisco Bay Area metallers TESTAMENT are working on the follow-up to 2012's "Dark Roots Of Earth" for a tentative early 2015 release.
During a brand new interview with "Robb's MetalWorks" conducted on August 23 in Corpus Christi, Texas, the band's frontman, Chuck Billy stated about the status of TESTAMENT's new disc (see video below): "We're writing the record right now. And hopefully it'll be out March next year. And it's gonna be some good stuff."
Speaking to Horns Up Rocks! at this year's Revolver Golden Gods in April, Billy commented on the musical direction of the next TESTAMENT album: "I never know what the final product is gonna be on any record we do — they all seem to be different — but I would love it if it kind of went back to what we did with [1999's] 'The Gathering'. Something about that record, to me, hit a nerve with new fans and fans in general. So I think if we could take that, what we were, especially with [bassist] Steve [DiGiorgio] being back, and that's the album Steve was on with us, go back to that style of writing and performing… But who knows?!"

Vocalist Chuck Billy, guitarists Eric Peterson and Alex Skolnick, bassist Steve DiGiorgio (who re-joined band this January) and drummer Gene Hoglan are completing work on their new album these days. If all goes as planned, it could get into our players in April 2015, just weeks before Metalfest.

Chuck, how are you progressing with the new album and how much do Testament songs generally change over the course of the creative process?
They are constantly changing. They all just start with parts and ideas and hooks. They keep developing. I think we are at a stage where me and Eric [Peterson] have done a lot of demoing, just us two, and when we get out on the road over the next two or three months together we will have a lot of time to just work out what we have done on demoing and hopefully, by the time we get back in June/July we will hopefully be ready to get into the studio. This is nice that we get to go out and go on tour but we are actually looking forward to getting together and working on some new material together.
Peterson pense qu'il sortira début 2016 en fait, l'entrée en studio ne serait de toute façon pas prévue avant septembre :
On the topic of when TESTAMENT plans to begin recording the new album, Peterson said: "My main goal is to get home [from tour] in June, finish it up and get in the studio by September." As for the CD's possible release date, he said: "Well, you know, it's tough to have it out later in the year, because if you put it out past October, people will say, 'Oh, that's last year's record, and it's only been out for a couple of months. So I would lean more towards early '16. And that's right around the corner. We will serve no wine before its time. So it's gotta be right."

Testament - »The Brotherhood Of The Snake« sortira le 28 octobre prochain!
Le nouvel album a été enregistré par le producteur Juan Urteaga (EXODUS, HEATHEN, MACHINE HEAD), le guitariste Eric Peterson et le vocaliste Chuck Billy, mixé et masterisé cette fois-ci par le renommé Andy Sneap (ACCEPT, ARCH ENEMY, CRADLE OF FILTH, KREATOR, MACHINE HEAD, MEGADETH).

J'espère que ce n'est pas le meilleur titre de l'album, ça tabasse mais assez bof. Mais bon on verra l'album, je pense qu'ils auront du mal à faire mieux que "Dark Roots..." mais je ne demande qu'à être surpris !
