Le groupe suédois a changé de line-up et label, tout en travaillant sur le prochain album.

Nuclear Blast welcome Swedish doom metal kings WITCHCRAFT to their label roster.

After a five year hiatus, the band is currently recording the follow up to 2007's The Alchemist, together with renowned producer Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios (KREATOR, OPETH, AMON AMARTH, PARADISE LOST, KATATONIA). The album's working title is Legend, and the release will feature the band's new guitarists and drummer for the first time:

Simon Solomon – guitars
Tom Jondelius – guitars
Oscar Johansson – drums

Furthermore, band leader Magnus Pelander will from now on focus on his unique vocals without playing guitar anymore.

Commented Pelander: "There's magic going on in the studio and we can hardly wait to eventually give something back to our loyal fans! We know you guys have been waiting for this!"

Un single sort dans quelques jours.

"It's Not Because Of You", a brand new song from Swedish doom metal kings WITCHCRAFT, will be made available via the band's Facebook profile on Monday, July 30. The track will released digitally via iTunes as well as on limited seven-inch vinyl on Friday, August 17. The single will also include a special non-album cut called "Take Me With You When You Die". The vinyl version will be issued in at least three different-color versions — black, copper and green — and made available via Nuclear Blast mailorder only.

"It's Not Because Of You" comes off WITCHCRAFT's fourth album, "Legend", which will be released on September 21 via the band's new label home, Nuclear Blast Records. The follow-up to 2007's "The Alchemist" was recorded with renowned producer Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios (KREATOR, OPETH, AMON AMARTH, PARADISE LOST, KATATONIA) in Örebro, Sweden. The CD marks the recording debut of the band's new members Simon Solomon (guitar), Tom Jondelius (guitar) and Oscar Johansson (drums). Going forward, WITCHCRAFT leader Magnus Pelander will focus on his unique vocals without playing guitar anymore.

Commented Pelander: "A friend of mine had an idea about a cover for 'Legend'. I developed the idea and gave it back to my friend who then passed it on to another friend who happened to be a designer. The designer then pushed it in a new direction. The result is already legendary."

Added bass player Ola Henriksson: "The album cover is meant to reflect the music and I think it does that with its heavy, dark and clean design."

Morceau plutôt "léger" (en terme de climat général) effectivement, même si perso j'aime bien en l'état, les breaks de gratte sont pas mal en plus.

pas mal. Plus léger et clean que tout ce qu'ils ont fait jusqu'à maintenant. Mais les mélodies sont bonnes et les arrangements bien foutus. Je sais pas si je prendrais autant mon pied sur tout l'album autant que sur "the alchemist". Mais c'est pas pourri, loin de là.

The Swedish classic / doom rock masters from Witchcraft have announced a brand new album to be released via Nuclear Blast. The successor of 2012's "Legend" will be entitled "Nucleus" and is said to be pursuing the more raw side of older recordings. Nuclear Blast comments:

"With an all new line-up (Rage Widerberg on drums and Tobias Anger on bass) the band sounds more hungry and powerful than ever again. In combination with the thrilling, yet very down-to-earth production by Pelander himself, Philip Gabriel Saxin and Anton Sundell it just throws you in dreamy sonic landscapes that will mesmerize and haunt you alike."

New album "Nucleus" is scheduled for an early 2016 release, with more details and a finalized release date coming soon.

Swedish classic / doom rock masters WITCHCRAFT have announced the release date, tracklist and cover for the band's eagerly anticipated new album.

»Nucleus« is scheduled for a January 15, 2016 release worldwide via Nuclear Blast and will be available as CD, lavish digipak (also as a t-shirt bundle), vinyl (black, clear, splatter, gold) and digital download.

The first single, 'The Outcast' will be released on 7" vinyl (black, clear) and as digital download on December 4 and will exclusively be available via the Nuclear Blast Mailorder. The single will include the NIRVANA cover 'Even In His Youth'.
