2 nouveaux guitaristes recrutés :
After 17 years with German gothic metallers CREMATORY, guitarist Matze decided to leave the band in early 2015 to concentrate on his private life and to explore new musical horizons. He has since been replaced by two musicians: Tosse Basler, who has been in the music business for over 30 years and has played in bands like POISON ASP, FORTY SHADES, SCAPEGOAT, AVALANCHE and EVOLUTION, on rhythm guitar and clean vocals; and Rolf Munkes, who also has over 30 years of experience in the business, on lead guitar. Rolf is also a producer at his Empire Studios, were he has worked with such acts as MAJESTY, Tony Martin (ex-BLACK SABBATH), Neil Murray (ex-WHITESNAKE, Gary Moore), Don Airey (DEEP PURPLE) and Doogie White (MICHAEL SCHENKER'S TEMPLE OF ROCK).

CREMATORY will hit Kohlekeller Studio in September to record its new album with producer Kristian Bonifer. A spring 2016 release is expected.

Crematory : Monument

Sortie attendue pour la mi-avril :
CREMATORY new Album "MONUMENT" 15.04.2016

CREMATORY are finnish at the Kohlekeller-Studios to record their new studio album “MONUMENT” which will be released through Steamhammer/SPV for their 25th band-anniversary on 15.04.2016.

You can be thrilled for what to expect after the more modern and electronic chart album “Antiserum”!

On the musical side it´s going to be harder and darker, back to the roots! CREMATORY are well known for not making any compromises but going a step further with each album. With their new effort “MONUMENT”, CREMATORY are taking four steps back, but at the same time one step forward.

They return to the good old Gothic-Metal days in combination with the new established twin-guitar attack and their well-known talent for composing catchy tunes with keyboards and samples.

On the lyrical side, there will be the usual mix of German and English lyrics. Singer Felix went beyond himself on his vocal duties . The clean vocals will be handled by one of the new guitarists. This vocal co-operation will create a stir, as such a mix has never been heard in the scene or on any CREMATORY album!

Germany gothic metal act CREMATORY will release its thirteenth studio album, "Monument", on April 15 via Steamhammer/SPV.

Infinitely more strongly than on its predecessor, "Antiserum" (2014), the twelve tracks on "Monument" are based on brute guitar riffs and hard-as-nails drum grooves, replete with sinister keyboard hooks and that mix of growls and clear vocals — some in English, some in German — that is so typical of this band. The group's fans will be thoroughly delighted with "Monument" and its dynamic sound.

When the work on "Monument" commenced in spring 2015, a personnel issue had to be settled in the CREMATORY camp: Matthias Hechler, guitarist, clear voice and a style-defining member for 17 years, had left the band for private reasons. That his departure went off without animosity or internal quarrels was confirmed by Matthias in an interview on the "Live At Wacken 2014" DVD. Following his decision, CREMATORY made a virtue out of necessity, enlisting two successors: Tosse Basler (SCAPEGOAT, AVALANCHE) joined the fold as rhythm guitarist and clear vocalist, and Rolf Munkes is CREMATORY's new lead guitarist.

"Tosse and Rolf have brought a breath of fresh air to the band. They've really inspired us with their powerful style and phat guitar sounds," rejoices drummer Markus Jüllich, who composed the songs again with producer Kristian "Kohle" Bonifer before going on to produce them together at the Kohlekeller Studio.

The result is a gothic metal opus that positively bursts with energy, featuring twelve diverse numbers with different degrees of toughness, including double guitar parts and guitar solos. The opener, "Misunderstood", which is supported by the first video release, is probably the most metallic number of CREMATORY's career. Markus refers to the track as an "ideal introduction, not only to our new album but also to our upcoming shows." The ballad "Save Me", which Jüllich/Bonifer wrote some time ago and have now approved for release in view of the new lineup, presents a stark contrast.

"As far as I'm concerned, this number has an orchestral flair," Jüllich reckons. "It suits Tosse and his timbre perfectly." Talking of which: because of their new team, CREMATORY have honed the homogenous blend of frontman Felix Stass's raw growls and the clear voice of their new band member Tosse Basler even more finely than ever before.

The album carries its symbolic title with justification and the twelve impressive songs are undoubtedly a real monument to this group's amazing creative powers. In line with this, the cover artwork is both classy and sublime: for the third time in succession, CREMATORY, worked with Hungarian artist Peter Sallai. As in the productional collaboration between Markus Jüllich and Kristian Bonifer, the band has relied on tried and tested collaborators without repeating or indeed copying themselves.

CREMATORY is:

Felix Stass - Vocals
Harald Heine - Bass
Tosse Basler – Rhythm Guitar, Vocals
Rolf Munkes – Lead Guitar

German metallers CREMATORY will release their new album, "Oblivion", on April 13.

Like all great rock bands, CREMATORY has based its success on the creativity of a well-rehearsed songwriting team. With Germany's leading gothic metal act, it's drummer Markus Jüllich in collaboration with the producer of each individual album that's kept the group's compositions on course for more than 25 years. At the same time, Markus Jüllich has enough experience to know that the band's evolvement depends on fresh ideas and new influences. So, by enlisting guitarists Tosse Basler and Rolf Munkes and, soon after, bassist Jason Mathias he has ensured that the band has remained contemporary and diverse ever since their 2016 release "Monument", reaping the fruits his efforts on "Oblivion".

"In particular, the sound and the selection of songs reflect the impact our three new band members have had," comments Markus Jüllich. "Tosse is a fantastic rhythm guitarist who adds even more diversity to the material with his clean vocals, and our lead guitarist Rolf enhances the record with his solos. Jason has added lots of drive to the deep frequencies, which is why we've consciously opted for a loud mix of the bass parts."

Along with Markus's wife Katrin (keyboards and samples) and vocalist Felix Stass, the three new additions are important factors that ensure that CREMATORY find themselves in a contemporary and forward-looking position in 2018.

In fact, the band went one step further on "Oblivion": while Markus Jüllich and producer Kristian Bonifer were busy working on the basics of their new recording at the Kohlekellerstudio, Stefan Glass, Dirk Riegner and Walter Stobbe were asked to contribute additional input to the creative process.

"Dirk comes from the indie genre and helped to add an important new nuance to the characteristic CREMATORY approach," Markus Jüllich explains. "Stefan Glass is a specialist for orchestral arrangements and Walter Stobbe is a real riff virtuoso on the guitar." The result is thoroughly compelling as well as ingenious. CREMATORY's unmistakable style manifests itself on programmatic numbers such as "Ghost Of The Past" and "Revenge Is Mine", but also on the anthemnic "Wrong Side" and the melancholy title track. The Stefan Glass-inspired orchestral arrangements can be heard on the dark opener "Salvation" as well as on "Until The Dawn", "Blessed" and "For All Of Us". Walter Stobbe's penchant for heavy metal features on "Cemetary Stillness" and on the album's impressive finale, "Demon Inside".

CREMATORY has rarely sounded as multi-faceted and timeless as on "Oblivion". The group's classic trademarks, such as Felix Stass's deep growls, are still present, at the same time new influences emphasise their great commercial potential. Markus Jüllich says: "So far we've had a special motto to set the direction of each of our albums, but 'Oblivion' simply combines all our strengths and experience. Over the years we've learned to blend different styles into the typical CREMATORY sound without ever losing sight of the importance of playing in a way that benefits our music. The motto 'less is more' applies to our compositions 100 percent. CREMATORY songs never lose themselves in exaggerated effects but always go the whole hog. That's partly due to the fact that we've remained very much down to earth."

Which is exactly what CREMATORY's countless fans will be able to witness when the band embarks on its 15-show tour of Germany at the end of April 2018. As Markus Jüllich aptly puts it: "Even if we know exactly what matters when you tour, we want to learn something new with every new concert."

"Oblivion" track listing:

01. Expectation (1:27)
02. Salvation (4:36)
03. Ghost Of The Past (3:59)
04. Until The Dawn (4:36)
05. Revenge Is Mine (4:50)
06. Wrong Side (4:12)
07. Stay With Me (4:13)
08. For All Of Us (4:06)
09. Immortal (3:32)
10. Oblivion (4:52)
11. Cemetary Stillness (4:50)
12. Blessed (4:02)
13. Demon Inside (4:06)

CREMATORY lineup:

Felix Stass - vocals
Rolf Munkes - guitar
Tosse Basler - guitar
Jason Mathias - bass

German gothic metallers Crematory have called out their "lazy" fans for not buying tickets to the band's upcoming tour in support of the new album, Oblivion, and have threatened to break up unless "metalheads start honoring the value of real music and come back to spending money on artists' physical product."

Drummer Markus Jüllich made the desperate plea: "The end of Crematory? Will Oblivion be the last studio album and the tour in May the final one?

Crematory's new studio album Oblivion will be released on Friday, the 13.4.2018. We were planning to promote the album with a tour, starting at the 27.4.18 and running through all of May in Germany.

That will only happen, have you fans get off your lazy asses and start buying tickets for the announced shows. The presales are horrible and we will cancel the tour completely, if the numbers don't increase radically.

The most important thing is, that you buy our new CD and double vinyl edition, cause when I look at our sales statistics I could start throwing up! Nowadays we are selling way more downloads and streams then we sell the original products, and this will be the death for all bands, cause you hardly get any money from this shit compared to the CD compensation. So as a matter of fact, a band will hardly make enough money to put a good sounding album on the market.

The worst is, that streaming on iTunes, Spotify, Deezer, Napster and all the other bullshit platforms doesn't pay out for the band at all. Our last album Monument had 1,5 million streams and we don't even sell 1% of that in original vinyl or CD products.

This can't go on like this anymore! Its not only Crematory who is suffering from all that, but only we have the balls to stand up and tell you the truth. Wake up you Metalheads and start honoring the value of real music and come back to buying the products. We don't want music just getting wasted and being stored on harddrives, usb-sticks, sd cards in miserable mp3 quality.

We hope you understand how important that is to us. Because of this, we will give you something special with the new album Oblivion, so you think twice before you buy the shitty download or the even worse stream.

Every CD and vinyl LP comes with a 10 € merchandise voucher, that you can use on our concerts, or in our merchandise-shop at the Crematory website. That makes every CD or LP including the voucher even cheaper than a download and you get a great digipack with booklet, lyrics, pictures and poster.

So, please dear fans, buy CD's and LP's and forget the downloads, cause otherwise there won't be another Crematory album. Don't make Oblivion the final album and give us your support on the tour. Start buying tickets now, so we can have great shows together. Even after 27 years of Crematory we are still hungry to keep going, but all that is in your hands. Believe in you and especially in Crematory!"
