Leif Edling n'arrange pas son surmenage en bossant sur un nouveau projet Heavy/Doom, appelé THE DOOMSDAY KINGDOM , avec Marcus Jidell à la guitare (AVATARIUM)) et Niklas Stålvind au chant (WOLF). le groupe a enregistré une demo.

Du mal avec le chant perso. Instrumentalement parlant c'est du Edling donc bon pas trop de soucis, mais vocalement on dirait un mec de The Voice qui fait une cover de Candlemass avec trop d'effets.

Faut arriver à suivre, entre Candlemass, Krux, Avatarium, et maintenant The Doomsday Kingdom, on dirait qu'il compense son manque de concerts.

Le EP démo en écoute ici :

C'est plus cru et 70's que Candlemass.
Moins metal que Krux et plus torturé qu'Avatarium j'ai l'impression aussi (à chaud), mais bon les différences ne sont pas non plus énormes, les compos auraient pu être utilisées dans ces groupes...

En tout cas tous les titres sont réussis pour moi

Yes, pareil, un panaché du meilleur et du pire de Leif avec un chant loin d'être top. Je suis un fan boy donc j'accroche mais tout en sachant qu'il est capable de faire et produire bien mieux. J'achèterai quand ça sortira en CD.

Sortie de l'EP "Never machine" le 25 novembre, album en vue pour mars. Le tout chez Nuclear Blast, donc singles bidon et non représentatifs de l'album en perspective avant sa sortie

Très bon, vivement que ça sorte en cd en mars, j'avoue avoir extrêmement de mal à positionner ou différencier les projets de Leif Edling au niveau musical ces 10 dernières années, Candlemass, Krux, Avatarium, Doomsday Kingdom, c'est du pareil au même pour moi, tant que ça reste du bon, ça ne me dérange pas !

Bah si, y'a le chanteur qui change à chaque fois.

Quoique pour Candlemass et Krux ça ne marche plus. Et le guitariste d'Avatarium est également celui de Doomsday Kingdom.

Sérieusement il y a quand même des nuances entre toutes ces sorties (plus ou moins moderne, plus ou moins heavy, plus ou moins sophistiqué, etc.), mais c'est sûr que l'ADN ténébreux d'Edling est immédiatement reconnaissable dans chacun d'entre eux.

Cette fois l'album arrive! fin mars 2017.

After releasing the Never Machine EP earlier in 2016, the Swedish doom act The Doomsday Kingdom have finally announced their self-titled debut album. The Doomsday Kingdom will be released worldwide on March 31st via Nuclear Blast. The all-star group, consisting of members and ex-members of such bands as Wolf, Candlemass, Avatarium, Soen, Evergrey and Narnia have recorded 8 "epic doom tracks, including a pinch of NWOBHM and haunting catchy melodies."

"I'm extremely happy that The Doomsday Kingdom album is finally finished and ready to be released!", states Leif Edling, the band's bassist and main songwriter. "It's been a long windy road to say the least, and many things and circumstances have been leading up to it. It is an album that I'm extremely proud of, from the cover artwork to the songs and sound. One of the best things I've done in my life!"

The band is scheduled to play their first ever live performance together on the stage of the Roadburn Festival in April 2017.

L'album tourne en boucle depuis hier ! Le chanteur de Wolf est "Candlemassizé", morceaux entêtants, solos superbes.

Le seul point négatif et c'est valable pour tous les projets de Edling, j'ai du mal à positionner / différencier ce projet

Je me repasse aussi le dernier EP de Candlemass, du Krux et du Avatarium et des bouffées de bonheur m'envahissent ! Pourquoi je me casse le fion à écouter autre chose que Leif Edling hein ? Ah oui, parce qu'il n'a pas de projets thrash / death et qu'il faut varier la vitesse du headbang

CANDLEMASS bassist and songwriter Leif Edling is selling a few remaining copies of the box-set version of the self-titled debut album from his THE DOOMSDAY KINGDOM solo project. The disc, which originally came out last April via Nuclear Blast, contains eight epic doom tracks with a pinch of NWOBHM and haunting catchy melodies. Joining Edling on the effort are WOLF singer Niklas Stålvind, guitarist Marcus Jidell (AVATARIUM, SOEN, ex-EVERGREY), drummer Andreas "Habo" Johansson (NARNIA), as well as several guest artists.

Only 100 hand-numbered copies of THE DOOMSDAY KINGDOM "mega box set" exist, containing the following:
