Anubis Gate - Covered in Black

Message par Everflow »

C'est pas prêt de sortir, le groupe fait appel à Kickstarter pour finaliser le projet.
Les 4 premiers albums ainsi que des inédits (2 CD complets quand même) de cette époque sont prévus.
Anubis Gate have launched a Kickstarter campaign for their new box set, Orbits. You can help fund the out of print first four albums that will be released as limited edition box set as well as unreleased bonus material. The progressive metal band needs to achieve $18,000 in order to finance this release.

The campaign will fund the re-release of the first four albums in the form of a limited edition 6-disc box set. It will contain the band's first four albums and two additional discs of bonus tracks. Originally released on the Spanish label Locomotive, these albums have been long out of print. After having released the first four Anubis Gate albums, Locomotive Music went into hiding, taking with them the rights and funds still owed the band. As a result, these albums became rarities, commanding high prices being sold second hand online.

Le 7ème album du groupe se nomme Covered in Black et sortira le 1er Septembre via Nightmare Records.
Danish progressive metal act Anubis Gate will release its seventh album "Covered in Black" on September 1st via Nightmare Records.

With six highly acclaimed albums, what can be said about a seventh album? It would be easy to say the following: It is our most mature album. Or how about this: We built on everything that came before it and added new twists and turns. Or this is our most accessible album perhaps.

But that wouldn't be quite true. In fact it might even be quite untrue. Except for the part about building on past experiences, since everybody does that.

What would have been mature was to make an album resembling our previous album "Horizons", going with the beautiful feel-good vibe of that album (though its topics were not all that feel-good)

Commented the band: "Instead, the writing of this album simply did not go in that direction. While 'Covered In Black' is a highly melodic affair, it is also challenging in a way none of our previous albums are. Dealing with, and dedicated to, people in dark places, this albums has a darker and more complex edge to it. Allowing ourselves to dig deeper into our collective pool of musical experiences and knowledge, the inspirations come from far across the spectrum. Ranging from classical chamber music, seventies prog and extending to thrash, with very eastern influences popping up,this is an album that is best heard as one piece, even if the individual tracks can stand on their own. Since we've come this far we also allowed ourselves that freedom.

"Is it a concept album? No. But it is a theme album. About people in dark places. From psychopaths, assassins to the more modern topics of being at the receiving end of what is bad about social media. Topics of lifelong failure and revenge are touched upon. The ten-song-long album has two suites, both consisting of three songs. One has the songs spread here and there on the album, while the other is connected as one long piece if you wish to listen to it that way. Wonderfully old-fashioned and just the way we like it. And it is, we feel, simply the best album we've ever done."

The album was produced by Kim Olesen and Jacob Hansen, as per good tradition.

Anubis Gate - Interference

Message par Everflow »

Album en juin.
Anubis Gate, Denmark's premier prog-power metal band, will unleash their new album, Interference, on CD and digital formats on June 2 via Animated Insanity Records (North America) and No Dust Records (Europe).

The band comments: Anubis Gate, are ready to present their new album of 10 original songs entitled Interference. Interference is a varied collection of material written and produced during the last six years.”

Musically this ninth Anubis Gate album is even more melodic while also harder edged. More direct while also containing the most experimental songs in their catalog. It has the hardest song, but also the most haunting song the band has done. The album is very focused, while also perhaps being their most varied to date.
