Notez que le bassiste est afro-américain. Il est sur le line-up live qui est avec un autre chanteur cependant.

ANNOUNCEMENT: WARLORD -- "Live Line-Up" ------- First let me say this. When Mark, Rick, and I embarked on this new venture of doing a new Warlord album, I had no intention of doing any live shows, mostly because of my health situation (as many of you know). However, when we were invited by Oliver Weinsheimer of 'KEEP IT TRUE' to headline that German festival, and when I received clearance from my doctor that I could physically endure such a trip to Europe, suddenly we were approached by Greek promoters as well. Now, Thessaloniki and Athens were on the table. I realized (along with Mark) that the Warlord fans would primarily want to hear "classic Warlord." And as you know, there is a distinction between the "classic Warlord" sound and the "new Warlord" sound (which will one day become "classic" as well). Although Rick is the perfect (ideal) singer for the "new" Warlord, I knew we had to find someone who could approximate the "higher range" style of the early Warlord vocalists. I had heard our friend "Giles Lavery" sing "Lucifer's Hammer" already and I asked him to send me an audition tape of five songs . . . here, you will find excerpts from that audition tape (no 20 minute trailer here), and you will understand "why" I (we) decided to go with someone like "Giles," who is not only a great vocalist in the higher range (as well as the AOR style), but he is someone who has been a Warlord fan since his youth, and is a person who understands the mindset of "the Warlord fan." In sum, "Rick is better suited to sing the new Warlord material while Giles is better suited to sing the classic Warlord material." So, here is a taste of "Giles Lavery" as the Warlord vocalist for the upcoming live shows.

Merci pour la tracklist. Je ne vois que 2 voire 3 titres qui sont des nouvelles versions dans le lot, ça baisse.
Le bassiste est celui de Steve Vai il me semble, pas un rigolo. Les autres sont peut-être les mêmes musiciens que lors du concert à Wacken en 2002, à vérifier.

Quant au chanteur live (quel bordel, ils auraient pu prendre le même pour l'album!), il a l'air bien adapté aux vieux titres, voici un extrait de son audition :

Effectivement, il est bien adapté, mais je n'ai pas l'impression que l'autre aurait pour autant fait pâle figure.

Pour l'instant, je suis plutôt satisfait de l'album. Par contre, faut apprécier Lordian Guard, parce qu'à part Kill Zone qui rappelle le Heavy Metal qu'on trouvait sur les compils et les sorties de Metal Blade, on reste dans cette veine, par contre, avec un super batteur au lieu d'un truc programmé. Malheureusement, j'ai pour l'instant un goût de basse sous-mixée dans la bouche...ça valait la peine de prendre un vrai bassiste si c'est pour que n'on ne l'entende pas ...et sans rien enlever à Lavery qui est très bon sur Kill Zone, je ne vois pas en quoi Anderson serait moins adapté pour le vieux matériel.

La basse sous-mixée c'est peut-être dû au fait que c'est le même producteur que sur le précédent album, où c'était déjà le cas. Le son d'une manière générale doit être assez proche?

apres deux écoutes d'affilés l'alboume ce révele excellent.
je fus un peu deçu par les versions en live,mais le chant de Rick Anderson fait la difference.

Je trouve que Tsamis a de faux airs de Dick Rivers , et il est aussi taciturne que Blackmore.


A priori, j'ai trouvé le nouvel album excellent, pour au final me rendre compte que j'en ai pas retenu grand chose. Je pense que c'est surtout parcequ'il est très dense. Enfin, je pense que ça sera sans problème un des albums de l'année.

Car mi avril, j'ai reçu un mail de no remorses qui disait l'avoir et là, en voulant passé commande chez les grecs, aucune trace du nouveau Warlord

Le groupe a pris un nouveau chanteur (chypriote), qui cette fois "devrait" apparaître à la fois sur scène et sur album.

Heavy metallers Warlord will be now fronted by Arrayan Path main man Nicholas Leptos. Richard Martin ''Damien King III'' Anderson is no longer the singer of the band even though he sang on the band's latest album The Holy Empire. Nicholas Leptos was chosen bearing in mind the new album from the band and the live shows as well.

Bill Tsamis made the announcement: "Although Rick Anderson did a phenomenal job for us on The Holy Empire and Giles Lavery performed extremely well during the Warlord shows in April 2013, I have had my eye on Nicholas Leptos now for a long time for a few reasons: (1) The music for the next Warlord album will offer a heavier, epic power metal soundscape in which the voice of Nicholas will elevate our sound into a whole new realm. His vocals are ideal for the powerful epic material that I am composing for the next Warlord album. (2) Nicholas has also proven that he can perfectly cover every Warlord singer 'live.' In short, Nicholas Leptos will not only be able to carry Warlord into an even more epic future, but he will also be able to present the classic Warlord material in a 'live context,' perfectly covering every Warlord vocalist that has come before him. Needless to say, we are very excited to have Nicholas on board. In a word, he is the ideal Damien King that we had been looking for since the inception of Warlord. 'To the swords to the guns'."

Frontiers Music Srl has announced the signing of legendary U.S. metallers WARLORD for the release of a new studio album in 2018.

Long admirers of the band and having gotten to know drummer Mark Zonder through his work with GRAHAM BONNET BAND and the upcoming group SPIRITS OF FIRE (which also features Tim "Ripper" Owens, Chris Caffery and Steve DiGiorgio), Frontiers approached Zonder about the prospect of doing a new WARLORD disc. Luckily for the label, Zonder and co-founder/guitarist William J. Tsamis were very much open to the idea.

Says Zonder: "After all of these years, WARLORD is with a 'real label.'

"It will be great to have WARLORD music shared with a worldwide audience, which is something that has been missing for many years.

"With my prior working experiences with Frontiers, I know WARLORD is in the right place and I am very appreciative of this great opportunity.

"We thank everyone at the label for their belief in WARLORD!"

In September 2013, Tsamis and Zonder announced that they had tapped vocalist Nicholas Leptos of ARRAYAN PATH and ASTRONOMIKON to be the new WARLORD singer. This lineup, along with bassist Philip Bynoe, will be featured on the upcoming album.

Zonder says: "This WARLORD release will be like all of the previous ones — 100% WARLORD. No changing of direction to keep up with the current fad, just good ol'-school WARLORD music. Maybe leaning back a touch to the early days and we promise a high-energy album that features the classic Bill Tsamis compositions and his classic guitar melody lines.

"As I always try to do, I'll give it my all in tandem with my favorite bass player Philip Bynoe, working together to create a solid foundation.

"This will be the first studio recording with Nicholas Leptos on vocals. We have performed live with him several times and are eagerly awaiting to capture his dynamic performances on tape. A classic WARLORD album in the making…"

Et en parlant de live, le groupe se "reforme" pour des concerts, sans leur leader William Tsamis décédé. Je suis sûr que les guitaristes (pas encore annoncés) seront bons, mais je suis quand même (très) mitigé.

Warlord, the legendary cult U.S. metal band formed in 1980, announce today that they will undertake a limited number of special shows in 2024 to celebrate both the legacy of the band, as well as the music and memory of founding guitarist William J Tsamis who sadly passed away in May 2021.
40 years after the release of both the seminal "Deliver Us" MLP and the classic "And The Cannons Of Destruction Have Begun" full-length album, Warlord will perform a set with a focus on the earlier material that shaped and influenced what we know now as Epic Heavy Metal, becoming one of the subgenre's most important pioneers. The limited number of those special shows celebrating Warlord's and William J Tsamis' legacy, will be extremely emotional for both the performers and the fans, who will once again experience the music that marked part of their lives and their emotions. Those special 2024 shows will be built around that feeling and bringing it back, and not as a "reunion act".
The special touring line-up will be:

The guitarist position will be revealed at a later date. Says Mark, "We will be using guest players whom we will reveal later. Bill is irreplaceable"

"My great friend David Reece recommended Eric, at first mention i was a little reserved, as every guitarist will tell you that he or she can do this or that better than the next player... But Eric didn’t do that …and after hearing 2 or 3 songs that Eric tracked for us i was completely blown away, It was like listening to Bill playing those songs, I even had to check that i wasn't listening to the wrong file... Bill is, was and will always be totally irreplaceable, but Eric is a critical part in our ongoing mission to keep Bill and Warlord’s legacy alive and pay tribute to his work"
