The band's debut EP, "The Opening Ritual", will be re-released on Xzec Records later in the year as part of a DVD that will also include live video clips and a booklet with never-before-seen pictures.

Si je me trompe pas, il ne reste plus que Lee Payne du line up original et encore je suis pas sur et certain.

les extraits que j'avais pu ecouter étaient très loin de Dominator et Sultan's ransom.
Des éléments nouveau metal un peu partout avec des guitares sous accordées. J'espère me tromper mais cet album est une catastrophe annoncée

J'ai écouté les extraits, ça sonne beaucoup plus moderne ouais, mais pas néo pour autant loin de là, 'fin ça fait un peu bizarre quand même vu le groupe.

J'ai l'album depuis quelques jours, écouté plusieurs fois, eh ben j'ai perdu quelques précieuses heures.....à oublier d'urgence, bonjour le chanteur qui braille style néo metal par moments et la nouvelle orientation pseudo power metal à 2 balles. Une ou deux bonnes compos quand même.

Lamentable quand on connait la discographie passée du groupe

Du coup ils récupèrent leur ancien chanteur, Russ North qui officiait sur Dominator et A Sultan's Ransom.

D'autres changements de line-up sont annoncés :

"Russ has been previously unable to commit fully to the band due to contractual obligations in Spain. However these have been resolved and he has rejoind the band in England to start work on the follow up album to 'Eye of the Sun'.

"Jon Brown [drums] and Roy Chudobskyi [guitar] have been approached to rejoin the group to start work on the latest album demos. The opus will be called 'Throne of Damnation'. Lee Payne said it will be a return to 'A Sultan's Ransom' epic power, but with a modern cutting edge.

"CLOVEN HOOF would like to thank Matt [Moreton, vocals], Andy [Shortland, guitar] and Lynch [Orlin 'Lynch' Radinsky, drums] for the amazing session work on 'Eye of the Sun'. They were the perfect stand-in musicians. The HOOF will be forever in your debt. Watch out for Andy's and Matt's solo album called 'S&M', to be released in the near future."

NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal) legends CLOVEN HOOF are currently re-recording 24 of their classic songs for a two-part "best-of" compilation, "The Definitive Part One" and "The Definitive Part Two". The first part will be available via the CLOVEN HOOF web site at the end of January. It will then get a worldwide release in June to coincide with the band's tour of South America, where the group is planning on filming its first official live video.

"Russ North [vocals] has left CLOVEN HOOF to pursue a solo singing career away from heavy metal. The band wish him luck in his new venture. The Barbaars festival in Holland and the Newcastle Cluny shows will have to be cancelled as result of Russ's departure, but a vocalist will be in place for the Hard Rock Hell festival in December. A new singer will be announced shortly.

"Lee [Payne; bass], Jon [Brown; drums] and Ben [Read; guitar] are currently in pre production working with producer Tom Galley (PHENOMENA) on the next album. It is scheduled for release in the spring of 2010 and will be CLOVEN HOOF's darkest and most epic-like opus yet."

Mauvaise nouvelle du coup !

Peut être ils pourraient chercher dans le passé lointain du groupe pour le remplacer ? En tous cas ça vaudrait mieux que le petit jeunot du coin qui débarque avec sa culture hip hop metal, comme c'était déjà le cas avant que Russ north se barre la premiere fois, celui qu'ils avaient trouvé faisait vraiment de la peine.

Allez encore un ou deux ans et Russ reviendra encore !

Cloven Hoof avec une pochette pas complètement hideuse, ça serait plus vraiment Cloven Hoof.

^ Le plus hideux, c'est même pas la pochette... c'est plus la police utilisée pour le titre.

Heureusement, le logo est toujours aussi classe.

wahou c'est dég, en effet heureusement qu'il y a le logo pour rattraper le coup !

Je l'avais précommandé ce EP; il devait être envoyé courant Février. M'étais informé de l'état des opérations et voici ce que je viens de recevoir de la part du bassiste, visiblement très remonté contre l' ex chanteur Russ North!

Sorry The new EP ‘Throne of Damnation’ has had to have new vocals recorded so this has
put the release date back a little.

There have been major problems culminating in Russ letting us down for the Spain gig at
the last minute, and it hasn't been the first time either.

Not only has Mr North's unprofessional attitiude let the band down once again, but far
worse than that he let the fans down and that is totally unacceptable. Russ North will
never again be asked to perform with Cloven Hoof, his association with the band is over
for good.
His vocals were on the "Throne of Damnation EP", and they had to be replaced.

We are now happy to announce Matt Moreton is the new Cloven Hoof vocalist, and he sings
on the new EP. Matt of course sang on the Eye of the Sun album, and he did a fantastic job.

c'était peut être un enfoiré ce Russ North mais il chantait quand même sacrément bien. Dommage.

J'aime bien cette pochette!

Je n'ai que le 1er album de ce groupe, du heavy classique pour l'époque, mais très efficace, j'ai une certaine affection pour cet album. Je connais rien du reste de leur carrière, ça vaut le coup?
