LaX a écrit :

FOREIGNER — Mick Jones (lead guitar), Kelly Hansen (lead vocals), Jeff Pilson (bass, vocals), Michael Bluestein (keyboards), Tom Gimbel (rhythm guitar, sax, vocals), Bruce Watson (guitar) and Chris Frazier (drums) — is universally hailed as one of the world's most popular rock acts with a formidable arsenal of hit songs that continue to propel sold-out tours and album chart action. Now they will perform and record their forthcoming album, "The Hits Unplugged And Live", at a private event benefitting JDRF (formally known as Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) on August 24 at The Ford Motor Company Conference and Event Center in Dearborn, Michigan.

Limited tickets to this event are available by contacting ford@jdrf.org or 313-248-1655. FOREIGNER is donating their performance that evening, and their royalties from the record to JDRF, a charity close to the band's heart. This new collection of never-before heard live acoustic recordings will be available on Sony in early 2016.

The evening's one-hour set will feature some of rock's best-known hits, including "Feels Like The First Time", "Cold As Ice", "Hot Blooded", "Juke Box Hero", "Waiting For A Girl Like You", and FOREIGNER's iconic ballad, "I Want To Know What Love Is". The show will be opened by an acapella performance by beloved Detroit student choir Mosaic, who will also join FOREIGNER on stage for "I Want To Know What Love Is". Guests will enjoy a strolling dinner that will feature select menu items curated by FOREIGNER frontman and celebrated foodie Kelly Hansen prior to the performance. Also taking place that night will be a charity event featuring significant FOREIGNER memorabilia.

JDRF is the leading global organization focused on type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. JDRF's goal is to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people's lives until they achieve a world without T1D. JDRF collaborates with a wide spectrum of partners and is the only organization with the scientific resources, policy influence and a working plan to bring life-changing therapies from the lab to the community. As the largest charitable supporter of T1D research, JDRF has invested nearly $2B in research over the past 45 years and is sponsoring scientific research in 17 countries worldwide.

"We are so pleased to be collaborating with JDRF for such a meaningful program," says FOREIGNER founder/lead guitarist, Mick Jones, Songwriters Hall Of Fame member who either wrote or co-wrote every FOREIGNER song. "Type 1 diabetes is a cause close to our heart, as our longtime tour manager's daughter was diagnosed with T1D in 2003 when she was 4 years old. There is tremendous anticipation around our first ever live acoustic album, and we're glad we could donate our performance fees and royalties to benefit such an important cause."

"We are thrilled to have Ford Motor Company as a partner who brings opportunities like the iconic band FOREIGNER to help raise awareness for type 1 diabetes," said Margo K. Lucero, JDRF's senior vice president, corporate and international development. "JDRF's mission is to accelerate life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent and treat T1D and its complications, and we are so grateful to Ford and FOREIGNER for the support in helping us move closer to our goal to create a world without T1D."

This is just one of the Mick Jones's philanthropic efforts, which also include a longtime partnership with The Grammy Foundation's effort to support music in schools. FOREIGNER invites a local high school to join them on stage at each concert they play, providing these choir's the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform #1 hit "I Want To Know What Love Is" live with the band. FOREIGNER makes a direct donation to each school's high school music program, as well as donating a portion of the evening's CD sales to The Grammy Foundation. Over the years, FOREIGNER has raised well into the six-figures through this program, inviting more than 220 high school choirs to join the band on stage, allowing more than 6,000 students, teachers and parents to enjoy this life changing experience.

With ten multi-platinum albums and sixteen Top 30 hits, FOREIGNER has defied all odds of a heritage band with continued Billboard chart action and album sales, now exceeding 75 million. FOREIGNER has experienced a true renaissance in recent years, thanks in part to their legendary songs being featured in films like "Anchorman 2", "Magic Mike" and "Orange Is The New Black".

Et un petit EP pour leurs 40 ans :
FOREIGNER turns 40 in 2017! To get the celebration started early, the band — Mick Jones (lead guitar), Kelly Hansen (lead vocals), Jeff Pilson (bass, vocals), Tom Gimbel (rhythm guitar, sax, vocals), Michael Bluestein (keyboards), Bruce Watson (guitar) and Chris Frazier (drums) — has some exciting plans for their fans during the remainder of 2016.

On Record Store Day's Black Friday event on November 25 — the same month the band entered Atlantic Records studio to record their first album in 1976 — FOREIGNER will release a 10-inch vinyl EP, "The Flame Still Burns" via Rhino Records. The highly collectible EP features a brand new recording of the title track, a song Mick Jones wrote for the film "Still Crazy". "The Flame Still Burns" was performed by a fictional band in the film and went on to win the prestigious Ivor Novello Award for songwriting. However, this electric version has never been officially recorded by FOREIGNER until now. The EP also contains a live version of "Juke Box Hero" and the original 1977 recordings of "Feels Like The First Time" and "Long, Long Way From Home".

A new video for "The Flame Still Burns" will premiere online on November 21 as part of iHeartRadio ICONS Featuring Foreigner Presented by Citi MasterPass at the iHeartRadio Theater in New York. The exclusive 60-minute live event featured an intimate question-and-answer session and live performance, hosted by Jim Kerr of Q104.3's "Jim Kerr Rock & Roll Morning Show" which will stream on iHeartRadio.com and broadcast on iHeartRadio Classic Rock stations at 8 p.m. local time.

FOREIGNER has been universally hailed as one of the world's most popular rock acts with 10 multi-platinum albums and 16 Top 30 hits that continue to propel sold-out tours and album sales, now exceeding 75 million. Also on October 26, they embarked on a brand new journey into the literary world with "A Foreigner's Tale", Mick Jones' first-ever official biography that will be made available in various formats, including a limited edition.

Produced in conjunction with Rocket 88 Books, "A Foreigner's Tale" tells the story of FOREIGNER in the words of founder, guitarist and producer Mick Jones and is sumptuously illustrated throughout. It will only be sold via ForeignerBook.com where fans can register their interest in the book and be sure of getting a copy when it is published in 2017. Registration is not a commitment to buy, but will ensure fans get the information on the book first, a pre-order discount and the chance to have their name printed in the book.

"The Flame Still Burns" EP track listing:

01. The Flame Still Burns
02. Feels Like The First Time
03. Long, Long Way From Home
04. Juke Box Hero (live)

Un live symphonique va sortir :
Audio snippets of all the tracks that are set to appear on FOREIGNER's "Foreigner With The 21st Century Symphony Orchestra & Chorus" can be streamed in the YouTube clip below.

"I Want To Know What Love Is", "Cold As Ice", "Waiting For A Girl Like You", "Hot Blooded", "Juke Box Hero". FOREIGNER's timeless anthems continue to rock the charts with 10 multi-platinum albums, 16 Top 30 hits and album sales now exceeding 75 million copies. For the first time ever, FOREIGNER will present all its hits with a 58-piece orchestra and a 60-piece choir with "Foreigner With The 21st Century Symphony Orchestra & Chorus" available on April 27 via earMUSIC.

In May 2017, the band performed two sold-out shows in Lucerne, Switzerland, together with the 21st Century Symphony Orchestra & Chorus, conducted by Ernst Van Tiel. "Foreigner With The 21st Century Symphony Orchestra & Chorus" represents this year-long collaboration between FOREIGNER founding member and lead guitarist Mick Jones and Grammy-nominated composing/arranging team Dave Eggar and Chuck Palmer, exploring the deep symphonic potential of these classic and iconic songs. Eggar, Juilliard protégé and cellist/pianist/composer, and Palmer, producer/writer/percussionist, have toured, performed and recorded with artists such as Paul Simon, James Taylor, Patti Smith, COLDPLAY and many more.

Says Mick Jones: "I could never have imagined when I set out to create FOREIGNER 40 years ago, that we'd still be touring around the world and performing the music we love all these years later. Dave Eggar and Chuck Palmer's orchestral arrangements have shown us a new symphonic dimension of our music, which I hope our fans will enjoy."

le 15 mars 2019 sort en bluray/dvd/cd le concert de 1978 au Rainbow de Londres.

FOREIGNER and Eagle Vision have announced the release of the concert film, "Foreigner Live At The Rainbow '78", which is available on DVD, Blu-ray, and digital video from March 15.

After the band's self-titled debut album had spent a year in the U.S. Top 20, rock's conquering heroes played a sold-out show at London's celebrated Rainbow Theatre on April 27, 1978. Opening with "Long, Long Way From Home", fans were treated to a magnificent display of musicianship and performance, including hit singles "Feels Like The First Time" and "Cold As Ice", as well an exclusive preview of two tracks from the upcoming "Double Vision" album, "Hot Blooded" and "Double Vision".

Featuring the classic FOREIGNER lineup of Mick Jones (lead guitar, keyboards, backing vocals), Lou Gramm (lead vocals, percussion), Ian McDonald (guitars, keyboards, sax, flute, backing vocals), Al Greenwood (keyboards, synthesizer), Ed Gagliardi (bass, backing vocals) and Dennis Elliott (drums, backing vocals), this show captures the essence of a group who would go on to become one of the world's best-selling bands of all time.
Forty years later, this definitive performance by the original band has been restored from the original film reels, remixed and remastered for this release.

"1978 was an absolutely magical time for the band," remembers Mick Jones, "and to come back over to the U.K. to play a headline show at the legendary Rainbow really was a dream come true. The audience was amazing that night. We couldn't have wished for a better show."
As FOREIGNER's music continues to resonate with fans old and new, the band celebrated their 40th anniversary playing amphitheaters and arenas throughout 2018.

Track listing:

07. Starrider
