Nouvel album prévu à la fin du mois


Long-running Swedish death metallers DISMEMBER have posted the cover artwork for their new album, "The God That Never Was", at this location.

Due on January 27 via Regain Records, the follow-up to 2004's "Where Ironcrosses Grow", was once again produced by drummer Fred Estby at Sami Studio in Stockholm. The group's current lineup is completed by Matti Kärki (vocals), David Blomqvist (guitar), Martin Persson (guitar) and newcomer Tobias Christiansson on bass.

With regards to the upcoming CD, Estby said, "Musically we're trying to do better with every album. Most of us are in our 30s and we have got to prove ourselves a little bit more every time. We fought hard with this album.

"Me and David, who have done most of the music throughout the years, are terribly conservative. We realized a long time ago what kind of riffs that will work and which ones that will have to go. No, you won't hear cheesy guitar licks on a DISMEMBER album, but at the same time the band have to keep on moving in order to keep things interesting."

On the album's lyrical approach, Fred said, "It became very hostile towards religion. I have always written lyrics like that, while Matti has been more into war and serial killers. This time we decided that we had had enough of the crap going on in the world today and decided to write about everything that pisses us off."

As previously reported, DISMEMBER have scheduled a CD-release show on February 3, 2006 at Tantogården in Stockholm, Sweden. Also appearing on the bill will be INSISION. On January 14, Estby and vocalist Matti Kärki will appear as DJs at a gig in Italy, at a venue called Keller Birreria on Statale Briantea 32 Curno (BG). They have promised to air some songs from the upcoming album, according to a posting on the group's web site.

DISMEMBER were previously signed to Karmageddon Media (formerly Hammerheart Records) and Nuclear Blast.

Regain Records recently reissued a major part of the band's back catalogue, including "Pieces", "Indecent & Obscene", "Massive Killing Capacity", "Death Metal", "Hate Campaign" and "Complete Demos".

Il est vraiment classe cet album, dans la grande tradition du death old school suédois. Rien de révolutionnaire donc, mais toujours aussi entraînant et yeah!!! Ce qui aiment Dismember adoreront.
Un groupe droit dans ses bottes, ça fait vraiment plaisir à entendre.

Gné ??? Tu n'aimes pas la pochette de 'Death Metal' ?? Pour moi c'est une des plus belles du style ! S'il y avait le picture lp et le TS, je me ruerai dessus (car j'adore l'album aussi )

Sinon nouvelle pochette sympa, bien dure, ça annonce un album de garçons pas bien contents !

Pictured is the cover art (by Erik Danielsson of Trident Art) for DISMEMBER's new double DVD, Under Blood Red Skies, due later this month from Regain Records.

As previously reported, Under Blood Red Skies will feature two live shows (live in the Netherlands and live at Party.San Festival 2008) plus a great documentation with tons of backstage material.

The band recently commented: "We have been working hard as hell on this DVD for so long now and it feels great to finally have it released. We have been filming stuff on every tour (and almost every gig) since 2004, so we have had tons of material to choose from. To break that down to make it fit in a DVD format with interviews with all the band members has been a tough one indeed. But the final outcome will surely be worth all the effort and time we put down in this project. It will be a very honest look into the life of being in Dismember, and it will include a lot of scenes that will make people laugh.

You'll get to see how we work in the studio and how it is being on tour with its ups and downs. There will be some cool backstage footage and live material from the Masters Of Death tour we did with our good friends; ENTOMBED, GRAVE and UNLEASHED, plus tons of other interesting stuff from all around the world."

Pourquoi avoir pris le nom d'un titre de Judas Priest ?
Ça m'évoque Judas Priest, en aucun cas Dismember.

Ban... vaut mieux tard que jamais, je l'ai enfin ce disque.
Et ben comme d'hab : les fans adoreront, ceux qui s'en branlent s'en branleront, et les blasés à la cons diront que les démos c'était mieux.

Pas de surprise, du très très bon Dismember, avec tous les ingrédients : le tout ça tout ça du death old-school, le son made in Sweden, les solos mélodiques heavy, le chant puissant et déchiré de Karki... Pas mal de touches malsaines doomisantes à la Hellhammer, c'est jamais dégueux.
J'y ai trouvé aussi pleins de clins d'œil à Like An Ever-Flowing Stream dans l'ambiance et dans les riffs. De toute façon, Dismember fait partie de ces groupes intemporels qui s'auto-plagient avec talent d'album en album, et moi ça me va très bien.

Encore un bon cru donc, ce groupe m'a toujours fait bander grave. Pourvu que ça dure !

Ca me rappelle l'article qui leur était consacré dans un HS Hard Rock Mag, papier intitulé "Death Babies".

un des tous premiers groupes de death scandinave. J'ai pas suivi toute leur carrière, mais leur 1er album est dans mon top 20 de LEDEATHMETAL.
