Rock and metal flagship, Avantasia, will release their 10th studio album and Napalm Records debut, Here Be Dragons, on February 28. Today, the band unleashes the energizing first new single, “Creepshow”.

Tobias Sammet on the single and video: "'Creepshow' is a perfect single. It’s short and catchy, and it emphasizes a facet of my work that has taken a backseat in my music in recent years. It’s light-hearted and the opposite of melancholic. And it's fresh, boisterous and unabashed - a straightforward kick-ass anthem. Also, even though it may seem like a reminiscence of my earlier writing, I think we managed to turn the whole thing into a trademark Avantasia tune, as we accentuated with the music video. We rented a haunted castle in North England and celebrated a night in the world of spectres and undead creatures. This is the most vibrant and eccentric music video I’ve ever shot in my entire career, not dead-serious, but certainly of serious quality! Alors la pochette est magnifique ! Elle me fait penser aux artworks de Magnum.
Malheureusement ce premier titre mais boudu con c'est déjà vu et revu dans Avantasia avec ces putains de riff rock "bonne humeur" et ce refrain de merde... Entre ça et les blabla de Sammet "meilleur album d'Avantasia" "vous avez jamais vu ça" beh si connard on a déjà eu pareil et même limite mieux avant. Manfinbon ça sent aussi le single super "easy listening" pour être entendu à la radio et toucher un max de gens.
Pour une fois la vidéo est meilleure que la musique. Trop "easy listening" et trop "happy metal" je trouve. Et je ne parle pas du solo qui arrive comme un cheveu sur la soupe. Bref, j'espère que ce premier titre ne reflète pas l'album...
Avec un tel titre et visual cela serait vraiment con de n'avoir fait que des chansons de ce type. Je me demande si Tobias est capable de mettre son hard rock tout gentil tout facile pour refaire une bonne compo power avec des mélodies accrocheuses...
Putain que je trouve ça faible... Je sais même pas pourquoi je suis allé y jeter une oreille à vrai dire.
D'autant que le chant de Sammet m'irrite au plus haut point.
Le chanteur de H.E.A.T fait une prestation correcte, mais Avantasia sert la même soupe depuis plus de 20 ans et le meilleur ne semble pas être à venir .
Toujours pas plus accroché à ce dernier titre, cela reste un assemblage confus d'idées je trouve (le passage du premier couplet au refrain est juste.... nul!)
Pareil. Déjà, j'ai l'impression d'entendre toujours le même single d'Avantasia mais ça encore ça peut passer... Ensuite, je ne suis plus dans cet atmosphère "nounours Avantasia" avec ces riffings rock tout téléguidés et gentils.
Plus : Kaverick je ne l'entends pas du tout dans le refrain. Est-ce moi qui ai du mal ou c'est pareil pour vous ? J'accuse le melon Sammet "quand je chante c'est moi avant tout"
Alors... Autant je n'aime pas vraiment les titres présentés avant la sortie de l'album. Les paroles "Youhou we are the creepshow on est trop bizarres nous mais on est cools regardez la liberté yeah" ça m'agace bien... Autant le disque a quand même des titres assez chouettes qui me feraient presque acheter l'album. On est loin du plat Ghostlight et plus proche du très bon The Mystery Of Time. Après, c'est sûr, rien de bien nouveau dans le style et parfois du copier-coller :Michael Kiske le boomer joufflu sur un titre power Metal classique, on corse des riffs pour Ronnie Atkins, on fait une chanson typée hard rock FM/ballade pour le vieux chat Bob Catley... Il est vrai qu'on aurait peut-être aimé plus de variété mais en tout cas ça fonctionne ! C'est entrainant, ça met de bonne humeur, on s'écouterait ça un soir d'été avec les potes en buvant des coups. J'ai beaucoup aimé l'enchainement de titre "Unleash the Kraken", "Avalon" et "Against the Wind"...
Ouais franchement c'était mal parti mais il se pourrait que je me prenne le disque...
