3ème album de ce groupe toulousain, que certains ici doivent connaître. Ils montent en puissance car ils viennent de signer chez Napalm.
Following their 2019 album, Prokopton, November 19 will see Toulouse-based symphonic melodic death metal force, Aephanemer, return with their third and thunderous full-length record, A Dream Of Wilderness, via Napalm Records.

Starting out as an unbelievably successful DIY ride that suddenly turned towards international acclaim, the indisputable Aephanemer is one of the most exciting melodic death metal sensations of the modern age. Fast-paced metal fronted by the guttural growls and fierce screams of extraordinary vocalist Marion Bascoul meet flickering twin leads, elements of Scandinavian death metal, Slavic traditional music and epic synths. If Prokopton was a noteworthy, impressive sophomore album from one of Europe’s best up and coming melodic death metal bands yet, A Dream Of Wilderness sees the French four-piece doubling down on its songwriting skills: Faster, tighter and heavier, Aephanemer’s upcoming album unleashes an anthemic adventure of brutally fast riffage and epic melodies.

As today’s first single release proves, A Dream Of Wilderness promises to be an exciting and refreshing mixture of metallic elements that are both technically superior and emotively rousing. “Panta Rhei” showcases the band’s ability to combine blistering, speedy riffs with a thrilling symphonic sound that takes you on a journey right into a melodic death metal fairy tale.

Aephanemer says: "We are more than happy to finally unveil our new song and video: 'Panta Rhei'! We are very excited as it is the very first glimpse at our new album, A Dream of Wilderness, to be released on November 19, 2021 through Napalm Records! We hope you will like it!"

Watch the video for "Panta Rhei” below.

Aephanemer doesn’t seem to fear boundaries. Their new album delivers a wide metal range that represents a dark and gloomier yet no less powerful side of the band, while otherworldly dimensions of blast beats, furious riffage and heavy, razor-sharp death metal anthems will have you headbanging as fast as you can. Especially in this day and age of staying "true" and limited within a sound and scene, A Dream Of Wilderness is a welcome diversion and a brave record artfully blending brutally fast symphonic death and raw melodic metal into a multi-faceted epic!

The record was mixed by Dan Swanö at Unisound AB, and mastered by Mika Jussila at the Finnvox Studios.

Nouvel album bientôt.
Avec les influences néoclassiques très marquées vient un petit côté Bodom sur l'extrait.
Following the roaring success of their latest album A Dream Of Wilderness (2021), Toulouse-based melodic death metal powerhouse, Aephanemer, strikes again with their fourth studio offering, Utopie, slated for a release on October 31 via Napalm Records.

Today, the trio has unleashed the opening single, “La Règle du Jeu”, a blistering ripper with frantic tempos, carnivorous growls from frontwoman Marion Bascoul, and an epic balance of death metal and classical influences!

The band comments: “We’re really proud of ‘La Règle du Jeu’ – it’s one of the most energetic and catchy songs on the album, and we feel it captures the balance we’ve been aiming for between our favorite melodic death metal influences and classical music arrangements. We hope listeners will like it!”

Find the music video for “La Règle du Jeu” below.

Blending ferocious melodic death metal with cinematic grandeur, Utopie sees the trio unleash an ambitious, razor-sharp assault of epic melodies, relentless speed, and philosophical depth, pushing their sound into bold new territory. Led by the commanding presence of Bascoul, the band delivers a fiercely technical and emotionally immersive record — lyrically exploring the uniquely mythic urgency of modern times.

In support of Utopie, the band will embark on a European tour in early November, with special guests Valhalore, Dark Oath and Waldgeflüster. Find all upcoming live dates at aephanemer.com.

With Utopie, Aephanemer recalibrates their formula, surging with heavier classical influences, blistering riffage, majestic orchestrations, and Slavic folk undertones — etching a sound equally ancient and futuristic.

Aephanemer reveals: “With Utopie, we set out to create a sound that brings together the elements we’ve always loved — the intensity of melodic death metal and the depth of classical music. We spent a lot of time shaping melodies, drawing inspiration from polyphonic writing, and building orchestral arrangements that feel both powerful and natural to us. It was a challenging but fulfilling process, and we sincerely hope listeners will connect with what we’ve crafted.”

Lyrically, the record engages with the concept of utopia not as escape, but as confrontation — dissecting philosophical ideals with their refined sonic scalpel, and pushing for a world of harmony between living beings.

Actively bucking genre conventions, Aephanemer continues to reinvent their path in the melodic death metal landscape. Utopie is more than just an album — it’s a storm of sound, an ideological reckoning, and a powerful new chapter from one of Europe’s most vital and visionary metal bands!

Beh c'est un super titre et la pochette est superbe. J'aimais aussi beaucoup la précédente avec le sanglier. Il va falloir que je pense à aller découvrir ce groupe de façon plus sèrieuse...
