Ward's brand new photos of Blackie Lawless and W.A.S.P. (Mike Duda, Mike Dupke, and Doug Blair) for the DOMINATOR tour have been delivered to Blackie's record label Demolition in England. Watch for them in magazines and billboards in your town. W.A.S.P is currently on tour in Europe.

W.A.S.P.-singer had to cancel part of the show. He had to go to the hospital as he had pain in his chest. The pain started in the afternoon but the band decided to do the show anyway. That's why they cut the setlist. After a couple of hours he left the hospital and they continued to the next show (Lund).

W.A.S.P. has dismissed as false reports that the group cut short its April 28, 2007 gig in Karlskrona, Sweden after frontman Blackie Lawless complained of pain in his chest.

Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet reported in today's edition (Wednesday, May 2) that W.A.S.P. played a shortened set in Karlskrona, Sweden so that Lawless could be rushed to a local hospital for observation.

However, according to a posting on W.A.S.P.'s official web site, Blackie "is perfectly fine and this is just a sick rumor."

Back in July 2006, W.A.S.P. cancelled a number of European festival appearances after Lawless was diagnosed with an abnormality in one of the arteries leading to his heart. Blackie stated at the time, "I have been extremely lucky to be able to avoid a problem that could have been potentially life threatening years down the road if I hadn't been fortunate enough to be diagnosed early. Thanks to that I have avoided a potential serious problem!"

W.A.S.P. is touring in support its latest album, "Dominator", which came out late April via Demolition Records.

Excellent cet album, ca faisait longtemps qu'un album de heavy rock / US metal m'avait pas emballé comme ça.
Ils ont enfin reussi a trouver un son qui s'éloigne des prods "bruyantes" et sales des 90's vers laquelle tous les groupes ricains des 80's se sont tournés.

W.A.S.P. had to abort their concert in Karlskrona, Sweden on Saturday, April 28th, after 50 minutes when frontman Blackie Lawless had pain in his chest.

The band came back on stage after about 10 minutes and did a final song, 'Blind In Texas', but after that Blackie was immediately taken to the hospital. He was released from the hospital after a few hours of observation and stood on stage in Lund, Sweden the following day.

The 51-year old frontman had problems with his heart as recently as last year.

W.A.S.P. released their new album, Dominator, in the UK on April 16th, Scandinavia on April 20th, and the rest of mainland Europe on April 27th via Demolition Records. The CD will arrive in South America and Russia in early May.

Says Lawless: "The title is from a quote from American President Abraham Lincoln when he saw the casualty reports from the battle of Gettysburg, and after reading that he said: 'Tonight the Heaven's are hung in black.' So I took that idea and I wrote it from a point of view of a US soldier in Iraq who's on the verge of dying and he's standing at the Gates of Heaven but St. Peter tells him that because of all the fighting that has been taking place, they have no more room in Heaven, and that he must come back some other time. So based on that understand that the verses are St. Peter talking, and the chorus is the soldier."

De toute façon Blackie c'est plus trop son truc les concerts depuis quelques années, j'ai retrouvé une vieille interview ou il dit clairement que son truc à lui c''est la composition. Les concerts c'est l'instant présent et il ne se reconnait plus trop la dedans... il donne tout ce qu'il peut mais il a 50 balais ! C'est plus l'extraordinaire showman qu'il a été... c'est comme ça... mais bon il a tellement donné aussi.
sinon à gibert il n'ont plus le dernier album ! il est épuisé ! le gars m'a dit que c'est une de leur meilleur vente depuis que l'album est sorti ! plutôt une bonne nouvelle ça !

Et nul doute que Lincoln devait lire Shakespeare, même si je suis loin d'être fan de Shakespeare (de belles phrases mais quelles histoires pourries... a une ou 2 exceptions pres...) je pensais pouvoir lui accorder la paternité de l'expression.

... en tout cas c'est bien un de smeilleurs titres de Blackie depuis Crimson Idole !
