Ca y est, je l'ai reçu hier... Et c'est tout bon

Je en connaissais pas du tout Chitral Somapala, mais sa voix est très intéressante...Sur certains passages, notamment dans "Life of agony", il a des intonations qui me rappellent Roy Khan.

Je n'ai pas encore tout écouté, mais les compos sont bonnes et accrocheuses...J'apprécie particulièrement "16", même si je trouve que les vocaux death n'apportent pas grand-chose à la chanson.

Seuls (petits) bémols relevés jusque-là :

- L'intro. J'imagine qu'elle a une signification particulière, parce qu'elle dénote beaucoup avec le reste,
- PE, mis à part sur "Sacred", je trouve que ta basse est mixée un peu en retrait

Je donnerai ma note après quelques écoutes de plus

Le line up de Civilization One a subi une modification. A partir d'aujourd'hui, nous n'aurons plus de claviériste, mais un deuxième guitariste à la place. Ce dernier s'appelle Christian Münzner, il joue dans Majesty, mais surtout il a joué dans le fantastique groupe Necrophagist.

CIVILIZATION ONE are pleased to announce the addition of Christian Münzner (MAJESTY; ex-NECROPHAGIST) as a 2nd lead guitarist. Chris is a neoclassical shred monster who will add another dimension to the CIVILIZATION ONE musical attack.

The band's new songwriting necessitated adding another guitarist to the fold, as it would have been impossible for a single guitarist to perform all of the parts live. Now the band will have the classic two guitar lineup which they envisioned since their formation -- with an emphasis on dueling leads -- as exemplified by such heavy metal greats JUDAS PRIEST, IRON MAIDEN, NEVERMORE, and ARCH ENEMY. CIVILIZATION ONE will no longer have a keyboard player in the band.

CIVILIZATION ONE features in its ranks vocalist Chity Somapala (ex-FIREWIND, AVALON), guitarist Aldo Lanobile (SECRET SPHERE), drummer Luca Cartasegna (ex-SECRET SPHERE), and bassist Pierre-Emmanuel Pélisson (MALADAPTIVE; ex-HEAVENLY).

CIVILIZATION ONE will have their debut album, "Revolution Rising," released in Japan on September 26th via Spiritual Beast Records. This Japanese release will include the bonus track "Out in the Rain." "Revolution Rising" has recently been released in Europe, where it has received great praise from both fans and press alike.

Les percussions frappées sont quand même plus anciens que les claviers. Et bien plus intéressants!

Un petit point sur le line-up du groupe, qui a connu quelques bouleversements dignes de Megadeth ces derniers temps.

Restent du line up du premier album Chity Somapala (chant) et moi-même à la basse. Aux guitares, nous avons maintenant Christian Münzner (ex-Necrophagist, Majesty) et Björn Daigger (Majesty), et Holger Rodammer.

Si le line up était international sur le premier album, il est maintenant entièrement basé en Allemagne, à part moi. Nous sommes en train de travailler sur le 2ème album.

- 31/05/2008 : Börsencrash Festival (Wuppertal, Allemagne)

Les guitaristes et le batteur ont quitté le groupe, ne reste plus que Chity et PE :

CIVILIZATION ONE members Chitral "Chity" Somapala (vocals) and Pierre-Emmanuel Pélisson (bass) have issued the following statement :

"We are sad to announce that we parted ways with Christian Münzner (guitars), Björn Daigger (guitars) and Holger Rodammer (drums).

With the exception of the very first CIVILIZATION ONE concert at ProgPower UK, this lineup has played all the shows following the release of our first album, 'Revolution Rising'. We were looking forward to recording the second album, 'Calling The Gods', together. However, during the last months and for various reasons, it has proven more and more difficult working all together. In the end, we thought it was best to go on our seperate ways. There are definitely no hard feelings on our side and so we wish Chris, Björn and Holly all the best in their future projects.

"As for CIVILIZATION ONE, obviously the schedule for the following months has to be adjusted. We're very sorry that we are forced to cancel the two remaining shows for 'Revolution Rising' in France (Rockalies festival in St Martin de Fontenay) and in Germany (Power of Metal festival in Paderborn). The recording of 'Calling the Gods' will also be delayed, until we figure who is going to handle the vacant positions in the band. But please be sure that 'Calling the Gods' will come out and will more than meet the expectations following the critical success of our debut album."

ah dommage, j'ai vu le groupe deux fois en peu de temps ( neuborn open air festival et au dragonslayer festival) , ce line up me plaisait bien. Le gratteux Christian était vraiment excellent.

CIVILIZATION ONE to perform in Sri Lanka

CIVILIZATION ONE, the band led by singer Chitral "Chity" Somapala (ex-FIREWIND, FARO, AVALON) and bassist Pierre-Emmanuel Pélisson (MALADAPTIVE, ex-HEAVENLY), has scheduled a concert in Colombo, Sri Lanka on November 29th for the TNL onstage show at the SLECC (Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre).

It will mark the first time a Western metal band plays in Sri Lanka, and will be a homecoming for Chity Somapala, the Sri Lankan-born singer who has been living in Europe for 22 years. Back in his home country, he did the remarkable "Lion Beer Song" which was played on radio/TV commercials throughout the country and during international cricket events.

TNL Onstage is organized by TNL RADIO, the biggest radio station in the country, and will present Sri Lanka's finest bands along CIVILIZATION ONE. It will also be the first show with new members Michael Stein (ex-ANCIENT CEREMONY, DORNREICH) on drums and Kai Mühlenbruch (GALLOGLASS, SEVENTH AVENUE) on guitar.

On s'est sentis une âme de pionniers sur ce coup. L'Amérique, le Japon, l'Autralie c'est galvaudé, autant aller là où aucun autre groupe de metal n'est allé avant

Plus sérieusement, c'est clair que Chity est super content. Il a toujours essayé d'emmener au Sri Lanka les groupes dans lesquels il a joué, mais ça n'a jamais pu se faire jusqu'à présent (pour des raisons de coûts d'organisation). Cette fois, les organisateurs ont réussi à organiser le truc donc on s'envole la semaine prochaine. Je vais écrire un carnet de bord du voyage avec photos et tout qui sera publié dans le magazine allemand Heavy Oder Was. Si je trouve le temps et le courage, je le traduirai en français et je le posterai ici

Petit résumé de la news en anglais ci-dessous : on a donc fait le concert au Sri Lanka. 4,000 personnes déchaînées au rendez-vous. Pleins de photos sur le myspace http://www.myspace.com/civilizationone . Du coup on va sortir une édition spéciale pour le Sri Lanka, l'Inde et les Maldives. On compte bien retourner au Sri Lanka après le 2ème album, et essayer également de faire d'autres pays d'Asie du Sud Est (notamment ceux nommés précédemment).

On a un nouveau gratteux, l'anglais Tim Mills (ex-Iced Earth), et on continue la composition de l'album. Tous les titres sont là à peu de choses près, faut juste en finir certains et arranger l'ensemble.

Commented the band: "Close to 4,000 screaming fans witnessed the show. As a result, we will release our debut, 'Revolution Rising', as a special edition in Sri Lanka, India and the Maldives in 2009 for all those die-hard fans. We will come back to Sri Lanka and hopefully other parts of southeast Asia with the release of our second album, 'Calling the Gods'."

CIVILIZATION ONE is currently working on material for "Calling the Gods", tentatively due next year.
