Concernant les rééditions Metal Mind, faut quand même avouer que c'est pas la grande qualité au niveau du produit fini, c'est un label polonais qui ressort tous ces vieux albums Roadrunner.
Heureusement j'ai les LPs d'origine, par contre pour tous les fans de thrash technique, jetez vous dessus, c'est vraiment un groupe excellent.
Si ça interesse quelqu'un je peux poster le live Eindhoven 88 dont je possede le bootleg.

Yeap. Le son est retravaillé bizarre; et puis niveau livret, ce que j'en ai vu, ça fait un peu photocopie de mauvaise qualité. Au début, je pensais que c'était un label pirate (je pense aux rééditions de Suffocation en particulier).
Bon, maintenant, s'il rééditent des trucs introuvable comme Toxik, ça peut quand même le faire : c'est mieux que rien.
Bon, ils viennent même de se reformer. Pourquoi j'suis pas étonné?
Legendary New York progressive thrashers TOXIK are back! Following the recent re-release of their two albums, TOXIK has reunited and is currently rehearsing with the lineup consisting of:
Mike Sanders - Vocals
Josh Christian - Guitar
Brian Bonini - Bass
Lou Caldarola - Drums
The band's original drummer Tad Leger is not taking part in the reunion because he's very busy with other projects — as a guitarist.

mouaip je me suis chopé la réédition de "Think This", un brin trop compliqué pour moi ce groupe... 2,3 passages sympa mais ferait pas un très long déplacement pour les voires...

Je ne connais pas du tout le deuxième album, Think This, comparé à World Circus, il vaut quoi?
Et il y a eu un changement de chanteur entre les deux skeuds, y a t'il une grosse différence au niveau de la voix?

Entitled "Dynamo Open Air 1988", the set will include the group's performance at the Dynamo Open Air festival in Eindhoven, Holland on May 23, 1988 as well as the band's concert at the Dynamo club in Eindhoven that took place two days earlier. A DVD+CD combo will also be made available in a limited run of 2,000 copies.

Reunited progressive thrashers TOXIK have posted a five-and-a-half-minute "teaser trailer" (see below) for "This is Toxik", the official documentary shot and produced by Marabella Productions in New York City.
According to the band, "Plans are underway now for an all-new DVD release directly from [TOXIK] in 2009 which will include live footage from New York in the early stages of the band before the 'World Circus' release, live clips from the 'Think This' tour, a full reunion and history documentary of the band complete with interviews from many of the members....and the DVD will be capped off with MP3 releases of the ALL-NEW material currently being worked on and written!!!"

J'ai acheté l'album récemment. Au début, j'étais plutôt rébuté par le côté complexe-décousu, n'étant pas passionné par les trucs techniques qui font tsoin tsoin, bien que séduit par le côté Thrash mélodique avec le chant haut-perché. Après un certain nombre d'écoute, je trouve ça salement yeah!
J'ai la version de Displeased Records, le packaging et bon, mais les bonus ne sont pas spécialement intéressants: Spontaneous en livre plus des versions démos instrumentales.
On remarque que les gars ont un look semblable à celui des gars de Riot époque Thundersteel. Look New-Yorkais à la fin des années 80.

"Think Again", the brand new DVD release from legendary cult metal thrashers TOXIK, will be self-released by the band on August 20.
According to TOXIK drummer Tad Leger, "Think Again" "contains both vintage and brand new never-before-seen footage. The main feature is a 1989 headlining set from the Paramount Theater in TOXIK's hometown of Peekskill, New York. This performance came shortly after the release of 'World Circus' and the energy level of the band is truly at its peak for TOXIK's first headlining show. The set contains all the tracks from 'World Circus' and an early version of 'Spontaneous' that appeared on our second album, 'Think This'.
"The Paramount was by far the largest stage we had ever played at the time and we constructed a massive drum riser out of hundreds of milk crates that were swiped at night from local supermarkets. The footage was taken from the crowd and has a great live feel. This was NOT [professionally] shot, so please don't expect an anamorphic HD picture. We did use professional post-production studios to get the best transfer possible, however.
"We did a brand new interview with Mike [Sanders, vocals], Josh [Christian, guitar] and myself, that has some great stories and moments recalled from our years in TOXIK. I edited in tons of pics into the interview from our archives, that we hope you'll enjoy.
"Josh provided me with a SUPER-rare video of TOKYO from 1986, who became TOXIK shortly after this show and recorded the legendary TOXIK demo. It's a very cool glimpse into the roots of the band and both Mike and Josh are kicking ass! Also in the extras is a gallery of close to 100 images of posters, back stage passes, ads, pics of us and our awesome road crew. Even King Diamond from when we toured with him."
Hailing from New York's Hudson Valley area, TOXIK released a pair of classic thinking-man's thrash metal albums in the late '80s. An upstart record label named Roadrunner Records (later home to SLIPKNOT and NICKELBACK) released the band's two astounding masterworks, 1988's "World Circus" and 1989's "Think This". Both releases saw TOXIK take the aggression and brutality of speed metal and mix it with the technicality and proficiency of progressive hard rock.
TOXIK left the Hudson Valley region and toured the United States and the world, playing shows with the likes of PANTERA, SEPULTURA, EXODUS, KING DIAMOND and others in their quest for metal ascendancy before their premature implosion in 1992.

Clair que c'est un putain de skeud, et Heart Attack est génial, on la beuglait d'ailleurs il y a peu chez Guardian il me semble.
Bref, faudra que j'embarque ce DVD.
