"We regretfully announce that METAL CHURCH is calling it quits.
"There has been far too much frustration and disappointment in trying to keep moving forward. The collapse of our record company, SPV, has made it next to impossible for us to continue in any kind of professional manner due to lack of tour support. This decision was not made lightly.

- Quoi ???"

Annonce officielle:
Seattle, Washington-based metallers METAL CHURCH have released the following statements:
"To all of our fans and friends...
"We regretfully announce that METAL CHURCH is calling it quits.
"The performance at Rocklahoma will be our last show. We have had to cancel the shows scheduled for August and that, among other things, has led us to have to make this decision.
"There has been far too much frustration and disappointment in trying to keep moving forward. The collapse of our record company, SPV, has made it next to impossible for us to continue in any kind of professional manner due to lack of tour support. This decision was not made lightly.
"We do have unfinished business in the studio, and with any luck we will have something that will be of interest to METAL CHURCH fans in the near future.
"We would like to thank all the fans that have stuck with METAL CHURCH through all these years, the lineup changes and the ups and downs.
"We can't tell you how much your support has meant to us, we appreciate each and every one of you.
"It's been a great ride."
"This Present Wasteland", the latest album from METAL CHURCH, sold 920 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
METAL CHURCH last year announced the addition of guitarist Rick Van Zandt (THE END, ROTTWEILLER) to the group's ranks. He replaced Jay Reynolds (also of MALICE), who left the band for "personal reasons."

"We'd like to clarify one thing...
The situation with SPV is NOT the reason that we have decided to stop, it is just one small part of the trouble this band has had in trying to keep going. SPV has always been great to us, and it's very sad that they are not going to be around in the same capacity anymore.
Our original statement didn't make that point clearly, and we apologize to SPV for any confusion."

RONNY MUNROE (METAL CHURCH) checks in with the following:
"Now that Rocklahoma is over, I'd like to take a minute to thank all the loyal supporters of Metal Church in the last six years and from the beginning, it has been an honor and a privilege to front such a legendary band and of course Kurdt Vanderhoof for giving me the oppurtunity.
As Kurdt has stated "there is some unfinished buisness" with MC as far as live material and when he decides the time is right to release it, we will let you know. I would also like to thank all members of Metal Church Steve, Jeff, Rick, Kirk and Jay it was a pleasure and I wish each and every one of you much success!

Former METAL CHURCH Bassist Arrested For Allegedly Running Pot-Growing Operation
According to The News Tribune, Stephen Wesley Ungerbuehler — who was known as Steve Unger (MySpace page) when he played bass for METAL CHURCH from 2004 to 2009 — was arrested Monday (August 23) for allegedly leading a three-county marijuana-growing operation in the Washington state. He was charged Wednesday with leading organized crime, unlawfully manufacturing a controlled substance and money laundering. Pleas of not guilty were entered on his behalf.
He's being held in Pierce County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
Ungerbuehler's attorney, Jay Berneburg, told The News Tribune his client "adamantly denies" the allegations against him. Berneburg said Ungerbuehler is a professional musician who travels and has earned his money legitimately through record sales, concerts and other contracts.
"This is another case of the war on drugs run amok," Berneburg said.
