JON OLIVA'S PAIN recently entered the studio to begin recording its fourth album for an early 2010 release via AFM Records. Drummer Christopher Kinder states, "Jon Oliva [JON OLIVA'S PAIN mastermind; also of SAVATAGE and TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA] has completed vocal tracking on a few songs, with many additional trial runs now on tape. When he returns next week [from a trip to Iowa to assist in programming the TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA light show] , he will finalize all his lead tracks and then we head on into massive, massive back-up singing."
Kinder adds, "It is once again awe-inspiring to witness pure genious and power when it come to Jon Oliva's vocal tracks and his songwriting.
"Part of the staple JON OLIVA'S PAIN sound has become [Jon's] ability to change characters and voices at will and to create incredibly interesting, thought-provoking, passionate and downright insane vocal melodies. [Producer] Tom Morris and I have been pushing him to the edge (as Jon Oliva requested), and we have met that challenge with great enthusiasm and also a bit of joy watching him suffer.... .
"Oliva's tenancious attitude, drive and full desire to do the best he can is only partially over-shadowed by the seemingly impossible task of singing songs that would require most of us to swallow mass consumptions of razor-blades in order to deliver what would be considered as torture to any metal music lover.
"We are all stoked, to say the least, and proud of his commitment to giving all of you... all he has!
"[Guitarists Matt] LaPorte and [Tom] McDyne will finish things up this week. The string sections are almost complete as well.
"Matt, Kevin [Rothney, bass], myself, Oliva and guest singer Todd LaTorre (CRIMSON GLORY) will dive into back-up singing next week. From there it's final reviews and begin mixing in early November.
"Special thanks to Howard Helm, who has once again stepped in to lay down his amazing piano and keyboard tracks. Howard also played on 'Global Warning'. Also appearing on this CD will be the great Casey Grillo (supreme drummer of KAMELOT and an all-around great guy). I am privileged to call him my friend and welcome his contributions to the record. Casey will be helping to fill our need for a wartime drum corps section for the song 'Death Rides a Black Horse'."
Quality video footage of JON OLIVA'S PAIN's May 31, 2009 concert at De Boerderij in Zoetermeer, Netherlands can be viewed below (courtesy of "letthemetalflow").
JON OLIVA'S PAIN's latest album, "Global Warning", was released in the U.S. in May 2008 via Locomotive Records. The CD features a guest appearance by guitarist Ralph Santolla (OBITUARY, ex-DEICIDE, DEATH, ICED EARTH) on two songs: "Adding the Cost" and "You'll Never Know".

Bonne nouvelle !

The cult band around Savatage mastermind Jon Oliva is right now working on the forth JON OLIVA´S PAIN album, that will be released on February 19th. The album title has already been revealed: "Festival".

JON OLIVA'S PAIN, the band led by SAVATAGE mastermind Jon Oliva, has set "Festival" as the title of its fourth album, due on February 19, 2010 via AFM Records. A March/April European tour will be confirmed soon, culminating with the filming of a live DVD consisting of music from the four JON OLIVA'S PAIN CDs and a healthy dose of SAVATAGE classics.
Drummer Christopher Kinder recently stated about the forthcoming JON OLIVA'S PAIN CD, "Part of the staple JON OLIVA'S PAIN sound has become [Jon's] ability to change characters and voices at will and to create incredibly interesting, thought-provoking, passionate and downright insane vocal melodies. [Producer] Tom Morris and I have been pushing him to the edge (as Jon Oliva requested), and we have met that challenge with great enthusiasm and also a bit of joy watching him suffer.... .

Personne n'a écouté?

plutôt "look at the world"... attends les chorus en plus...
