Pour rester un peu dans l'esprit, voici un groupe grec IRON ENSEMBLE qui reprend du Maiden "classiquement", et annonce notamment Alexander the Great (extrait sympa ci-dessous).
IRON ENSEMBLE is a septet from Greece consisting of a harp, piano, guitar, two violins, viola, violoncello and contrabasso. The band, which covers IRON MAIDEN songs in a unique way, has just released its first single, "Alexander The Great". The CD single includes a 10-minute version of "Alexander The Great", plus the same song divided in six parts, as a suite (total running time: more than 20 minutes). The eight-page booklet includes artwork by Tommy Pons as a foldout poster.

The second part of "Alexander The Great" can be streamed in the YouTube clip below.

IRON ENSEMBLE is:

Dimitris Aggelidis: violin
Costas Panagiotidis: violin
Ali Basegmezler (session): viola
Dimitris Travlos: violoncello
Dimitris Kamarianakis: contrabasso
Elias Koskoris: guitar, solo arrangements
Mary Tassouli: harp, piano, orchestration

For more information, visit http://www.ironensemble.com.

The original version of "Alexander The Great" appears on IRON MAIDEN's 1986 album "Somewhere In Time".

Asked in a radio interview a few years ago why IRON MAIDEN has never played "Alexander The Great" live, singer Bruce Dickinson answered, "Because Adrian [Smith, guitar] can't remember the guitar solo!" While Dickinson may have been joking, he did go on to say that, when the song was originally written, they put the solo through a load of then-very-advanced music computer wizardry, and it just couldn't figure out the time signature.

Un pull moche à offrir à Noël? Voilà :
Apparel maker Middle Of Beyond has just released an officially licensed IRON MAIDEN holiday sweater. Made of 100% acrylic, it is black, dark grey, light grey, red, tan, and white in color and is decorated with an Eddie central image and a repeat pattern. It can be purchased for $85 at this location.

"Ugly Christmas sweater" or "tacky Christmas sweater" parties have been a holiday staple for several years, but there have been very few places to actually buy these sweaters. That has since changed, according to Time magazine, which reports that vintage stores, the Salvation Army, and Goodwill are reaping the benefits of this craze, as are fast-fashion shops like H&M and high-end retailers such as Nordstrom.

The market for ugly Christmas sweaters is so large that several stores even exist solely for the purpose of selling the festive apparel.

"Ugly is the new beautiful this Christmas especially when it comes to sweaters," said Mindi Kahn of That Ugly Christmas Sweater Store in Dallas, Texas. "What was once considered a hipster holiday fad is now becoming a regular yuletide tradition."

According to the "Ugly Christmas Sweater Party Book: The Definitive Guide To Getting Your Ugly On", the popularity of parties celebrating the garish garments began around 2001.

Middle Of Beyond is an independently owned and operated company created by tattoo artist Ezra Haidet.

IRON MAIDEN has settled a lawsuit over the writing credits for the band's classic song "Hallowed Be Thy Name".

A year ago, retired rock band manager Barry McKay took MAIDEN's Steve Harris and Dave Murray to court over the 1982 track, claiming reproduced major parts of another song, "Life's Shadow", co-written nearly a decade earlier by musician Brian Quinn, under the name Brian Ingham.

"Life's Shadow" was a collaboration between Quinn and Robert Barton, who later recorded the song for the self-titled 1974 album from his band BECKETT. At the time, BECKETT was managed by Rod Smallwood, who went on to become the manager of IRON MAIDEN.

In court documents, Harris's lawyers admitted he saw BECKETT perform in 1973 and said that BECKETT's debut was one of his favorite albums when it was first released.

Although McKay has said that Harris and Murray have been ordered to pay £900,000 (approximately $1.25 million) in costs and damages, a spokesperson for IRON MAIDEN told BLABBERMOUTH.NET that the actual figure was much lower.

"We do not believe that Brian Quinn was the one who wrote these six lines in question over 40 years ago as was claimed by Barry McKay," the MAIDEN spokesperson said. "However, due to escalating legal fees and the potential huge costs of a court case, it was pragmatic to reluctantly settle this action with McKay for £100,000 [approximately $139,000], a fraction of what he brought the action for. A serial litigant like Mr. McKay would have foreseen this."

In response to MAIDEN's statement, McKay said: "To call me a 'serial litigant' is sour grapes. Harris and Murray and their managers appear to me to be bad losers. However, I am now also representing three other songwriters who also allege that Steve Harris and Dave Murray have profiteered from lyrics that they wrote. If that makes me a 'serial litigant,' so be it. Musicians who have their intellectual property exploited by others who did not write or compose it are entitled to professional assistance."
