Robert Gonnella, former singer of German thrashers Assassin, has founded a new band called Raging Rob - a hint to the Assassin song “Raging Mob” and the band with the same name which Rob headed while living in China in the 90s and 2000s.

The band is working on new music and hope to release it sometime in 2015. Stay tuned for updates.

In the beginning of 2014, after almost 30 years as front man, Robert Gonnella left Assassin and formed his own band Raging Rob.

The new group is rounded out by ex-Assassin drummer Frank Nellen on drums, Warrant's Dirk Preylowski on lead guitar, and ex-Human Bastard members Maik Jansen (rythm guitar) & Rudi Görg (bass).

Currently the band is preparing a live set including old Assassin songs & Raging Mob tracks (Robert's former Chinese band). Raging Rob is composing new songs for a debut album to be released in 2015, followed by a string of live shows to support the release.

German thrash metal pioneers ASSASSIN will release their new studio album, "Combat Cathedral", on May 20. The effort will be made available via Steamhammer/SPV worldwide on CD, limited-edition LP (500 copies only on red 180-gram vinyl + CD) and as a digital download. The cover art was created by Marcelo Vasco, who also worked with SLAYER, MACHINE HEAD, SOULFLY and BORKNAGAR.

After founding member and vocalist Robert Gonella left ASSASSIN in 2014, new singer Ingo "Crowzak" Bajonczak joined the group and it turned out that he was the right choice for the band. From the first to the last note, the album contains loads of energy and ultra-heavy riffing, making it clear that ASSASSIN is still at the top of the list of German thrash metal bands.
