Ah non, tu parlais de la période avec Dead, Deathcrush, c'est la première période avec Maniac.

Le G@YK: Ouais, Mayhem au Wacken 2004, ça semble défintivement ridi-culte avec Maniac et sa coupe de cheveux de grand-père qui se coupe la main sur scène et finit à l'hopital.

Je n'ai que deathcrush et je le trouve plutôt bon...assez novateur pour l'époque!!
Pas encore écouté de Mysteriis...même pas une bribe de chanson.
Par contre le groupe fait vraiment pitié à voir aujourd'hui, c'est du même niveau que slipknot à la limite...

ben il va falloir que j'écoute ce que font spliknot alors, parce que sur la dernière tournée j'ai trouvé ça vraiment bien, même avec un chanteur habillé en sapin de noël

Musicalement peut-être...mais j'ai l'impression que le groupe a perdu toute crédibilité. Sapin de noël, lapin, momie, hitler,...je crois qu'il les a toute faite haha...

n November 16, Peaceville will release a comprehensive limited-edition deluxe set covering the influential Dead era of Norwegian black metal pioneers MAYHEM. The package will contain six picture disc LPs, a seven-inch single, 92-page book, posters, and DVD featuring the never-before-seen Jessheim and Sarpsborg live shows plus Henhouse rehearsals.

"We are glad to be able to honor the Euronymous and Dead era in this comprehensive box set that Peaceville and Finn Håkon Rødland put together for the band," said MAYHEM's Necrobutcher and Hellhammer.

MAYHEM, the Norwegian pioneers responsible for invigorating a global scene alongside originators such as VENOM, CELTIC FROST and BATHORY, formed in 1984, and with a long history of tragedy, intrigue and infamy have become truly revered legends of black metal. A large part of their legacy was established in the late '80s and early '90s when guitarist Euronymous and bassist Necrobutcher welcomed Hellhammer on drums and Dead on vocals to help shape a new era of darkness and Armageddon.

Marking 30 years since this particularly iconic and subsequently ill-fated union, the deluxe "Cursed In Eternity" set contains a full and expansive collection of work by the band during that period. This includes MAYHEM's legendary 1990 live dates in Norway and short German tour, plus the additions of the "Out From The Dark" and "Henhouse" rehearsal sessions. These six titles are all presented on a special limited picture disc format for this release, with the set also including a seven-inch single vinyl containing two studio tracks ("Freezing Moon" and "Carnage"), recorded initially for the CBR compilation "Projections Of A Stained Mind" and here featuring sleeve artwork made at the time by former vocalist Maniac.

Along with a full 92-page book recalling tales of their legendary shows and inspirational music from both band members and others from the scene, and including letters and previously unseen photographs sourced from personal archives, all in collaboration with the True Mayhem Collection, "Cursed In Eternity" also presents, for the first time, a DVD containing never-seen-before footage from the entire Jessheim concert, plus front-of-stage video from the Sarpsborg show, giving a priceless insight into how these shows were witnessed at the time. The DVD is completed by full footage of the Henhouse rehearsals.

As a final bonus inclusion, "Cursed In Eternity" features posters from the original designs and Zeitz photo from those iconic live shows.

Preceding this more notorious period, Mayhem ’s formative years were spent honing a selection of tracks of pure brutality, eventually leading to 1987’s iconic Deathcrush EP release - considered the launching point for the band onto the global map. Prior to this though, came 1986’s Pure Fucking Armageddon demo, featuring the trio of Manheim, Necrobutcher and Euronymous.

Command For Blood, Command For War initially included in the recent Pure Fucking Armageddon vinyl boxset, contains two early Mayhem rehearsals from Neccrobutcher’s own archive in all of their raw glory from back in 1986, recorded on the lead up to the eventual Pure Fucking Armageddon demo sessions.

The release features early versions of tracks which would remain a staple of Mayhem’s live set throughout the years, such as "Pure Fucking Armageddon" itself, and "Carnage". The title also includes cover songs of tracks originally written and performed by genre godfathers, Venom.

Je vais peut-être choquer mais De Mysteriis... J'ai jamais pu le digérer cet album. Il m'a jamais touché et souvent ennuyé. Un peu à la manière de Blackwater Park d'Opeth que beaucoup encensent (sûrement à raison) mais il n'a jamais pu bien passer avec moi. ça fait des années que je me dis que je devrais le ressortir et l'écouter mais j'ai toujours la flemme de le faire. Parce que oui je l'ai dans ma collection ce disque, je l'avais pris à l'époque où j'avais une bande de potes qui étaient quasiment tous des blackeux donc ça tournait la plupart du temps avec Mayhem, Burzum et Darkthrone et on se faisait donc bien chier en soirée c'était génial

Du coup j'ai voté A Grand Declaration Of War. C'est un disque qui m'a toujours régalé. J'aime ce qu'ils ont osé faire, cette audace qui aurait pu leur couter très cher, le coté martial qu'on retrouve dans l'album... C'est vraiment une musique à part à la fois dans Mayhem mais aussi dans tout le black.

Ordo Ad Chaos m'avait beaucoup plus à l'époque. Son coté suffoquant, sa noirceur. Bizarrement le suivant, pourtant similaire à mes yeux, passait beaucoup moins bien !

Ah et Chimera je l'avais trouvé correct. Black classique, bien fait, pas révolutionnaire où à mettre sur un podium mais ça s'écoute sans problème.
