Neuf chansons du nouveau Guns 'N' Roses Chinese democracy, terminées et masterisées, sont apparues sur le web. Et ont été enlevés aussi vite des sites controversés. Des ces neuf titres, six avaient déjà atterris sur le net dans des versions non-définitives, tandis que trois autres titres sont nouveaux (Rhiad And The Bedouins, If The World et un morceau sans nom). Selon le NME, qui a écouté ces chansons, ce nouvel album contenait, outre la guitare habituelle, des influences flamenco et une touche orchestrale. Le leader Axl Rose (seul membre original encore en activité) travaille déjà sur ce disque depuis 1994 et commence à coûter cher à sa firme de disques. Puisque l’album aurait déjà coûté 13 millions de dollars jusqu’ici.(20/06/08)

VELVET REVOLVER/ex-GUNS N' ROSES drummer Matt Sorum has told Joe Bosso of MusicRadar.com that he thinks GUNS N' ROSES will get back together. "I'm sure it'll happen eventually," he said.

Sorum isn't so sure about his involvement in a reunion, however. "They could be having meetings about it right now. They could be in a bomb shelter, with Axl [Rose, vocals] and Slash [guitar] and Duff [McKagan, bass]. And Izzy [Stradlin, guitar]! Maybe Steven Adler [original GUNS N' ROSES drummer] — I don't know. I'd probably be the very, very, very last guy to get the call."

As for the status of VELVET REVOLVER's search for a new lead singer following the departure of Scott Weiland, Sorum said, "We are looking. We are actively looking. We rehearsed for a couple of weeks. We tried out a couple of guys. We have a guy right now that we're still… let me see, what would be the correct word… massaging, as you will — sort of checking it out, feeling it out, letting him work with us. I'd rather not [say who it is] — just because I don't want it to get out that he might be the guy. I mean, we like him, he's awesome… It's really weird because [chuckles] Slash and Duff and myself — especially the three of us — we were kind of like, 'Wow, this guy shows up to a rehearsal on time, he's really nice, he's easy to get along with,' and it actually kind of scared us, 'cause we thought, 'Is this possible?' God, I was worried for a minute that it was almost like, you know, when you get in a relationship with a girl, or a guy gets in a relationship with a girl, or a girl gets in a relationship with a guy, and maybe they're really, really, really nice, but for some reason you don't really like them. [Laughs] I'm kind of worried that we might be so used to the drama. [Laughs] I kind of looked around at the guys. I said, 'Man, this guy is a super-nice dude. You think we can go with that or what? [Laughs]'"

Ce qui est interessant c'est de voir la part que prennent ces jeux videos (rockband , guitar hero ) dans la "nouvelle" distribution de la musique aujourd'hui .

Planned Guns N’ Roses Deal Underscores Power of Video Games to Sell Songs

A decade and a half after releasing its previous album, Guns N’ Roses plans to put out a new song in September — on the video game Rock Band 2. MTV expects to announce on Monday that the sequel to its popular Rock Band game will include “Shackler’s Revenge,” a track from the Guns N’ Roses album that has been in the works for more than a decade, said people familiar with the deal who spoke on condition of anonymity because the arrangement has yet to be announced.

Reactions From Around the WebThe inclusion of the song on a game suggests that the Guns N’ Roses album “Chinese Democracy” will come out this fall, after years of delays. Axl Rose, who has selected replacements for the other original members, has said that the album is finished, but a release date has not been announced.

MTV and Universal Music Group, Guns N’ Roses’ label, declined to comment on the deal.

Former GUNS N' ROSES drummer Steven Adler and his lawyer Barry Sands attended a court hearing in Los Angeles on Friday (July 25) regarding Steven's recent drug-related arrest. (See video from X17 below.)

Prior to the hearing, Steven told X17 cameras he was nervous, but looking to move on and sober up.

"I'm feeling much better," he said. "I made a recent mistake. I had a relapse after 37 days. I just wanna take care of this and move on. I'm back to seven days sober, so I wanna keep that going — seven days, seven weeks, seven months, seven years. It's the first day of the rest of my life right now. I wanna keep the sobriety going and keep my health going. I'm just glad I've got my friends behind me. I've got Slash behind me, Duff, Izzy, Axl… [they're] all behind me. I've got their prayers."

After the hearing was over, the 43-year-old rocker's attorney said that the court date was moved to August 20, and his client hasn't been charged with a crime.

Steven added, "The bottom line is, I made a mistake, I relapsed. You've gotta pay for your mistakes, and I'm just paying for it. And whatever I have to do to take care of this to keep this in the past so I can move on to the future, I'll do it."

When asked what advice he had for young rockers who may be going through a similar ordeal while struggling to maintain a music career, Adler replied, "Have your loved ones videotape you using and then watch it when you're sober or not using and seeing how terrible you look and terrible you act, and I'm pretty sure that'll help you not wanna use anymore."

Los Angeles police spokesman Richard French told the Associated Press that Adler was arrested around 4 a.m. on July 18 by officers called to a home where a man reportedly was creating a disturbance and refusing to leave.

The warrant stems from a 2005 case where Adler was charged for being under the influence of a controlled substance and driving on a suspended license. He then sealed his fate by missing a court date in April of 2006.

The drummer told Lynn Hernandez of Tulsa, Oklahoma's 97.5 KMOD radio station at the Rocklahoma festival about a week before his arrest that he was planning on being part of the cast of "Sober Living", a spin-off of VH1's "Celebrity Rehab".

"Sober Living", which was described as a cross between "Surreal Life" and "The Real World", would put a number of "Celebrity Rehab" alumni together in a luxurious Beverly Hills mansion for 30 days while they try to rebuild their careers without drugs and alcohol, according to the New York Post.

Like "Celebrity Rehab", the new show would prominently feature Dr. Drew Pinsky ("Loveline"), who oversees the celebs during their stints in televised rehab.

Steven Adler last month underwent detoxification and treatment at a center in the Los Angeles area on the second season of the hit reality series "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew". The series, consisting of eight one-hour episodes, is slated to premiere October 2008 on VH1.

Selon plusieurs sources (100% mag sur M6, Wikipédia et plusieurs sites sur le net) Chinese Democracy sortirait le 23 novembre 2008.
Perso je ne sais pas si c'est vrai mais il devrait bien sortir un jour cet album...même si je ni crois plus trop.

"Après de longues années d'attente, «Chinese Democracy», le nouvel album de Guns N' Roses, devrait enfin voir le jour le dimanche 23 novembre. Aux États-Unis, il sera disponible en exclusivité dans les magasins Best Buy.

Des sources ont confirmé l'information à Billboard.com. En Amérique, les disques sortent généralement le mardi. La décision de GNR est liée à la façon dont Best Buy calcule ses ventes, soit du dimanche au samedi. On veut aussi attirer les gens qui font leurs emplettes en vue de l'Action de Grâce américaine.

L'extrait «Shackler's Revenge» fera ses débuts officiels grâce au jeu vidéo «Rock Band 2». Un extrait de la pièce «If the World» peut aussi être entendu au générique du film «Body of Lies», à la fin du long-métrage.

L'étiquette Interscope compte de plus relancer l'album «Appetite for Destruction», lancé en 1987, sur vinyle le 28 octobre."

Ils en ont parlé a la tv mainstream (100% mag") je crois ! Et ils ont aussi dit que Dr Pepper allaient être en faillite si ca se faisait, rapport au défi qu'ils avaient lancé pour la sortie de l'album avant le 31/12
