je l'ai eu aujourd'hui et perso je trouve que c'est du bon eldritch entre les premiers plus prog' et le coté plus bourrin d'un "reverse"

Au fait il y aura des invités sur le prochain Eldritch, Blackened Day, prévu pour le 20 avril.

On the song “Broken Road” there are 2 talented special guests such as Ray Alder (Fates Warning, Redemption, Engine) and Nicholas Van Dyk (Redemption). And on the song "The Deep Sleep" there is one more talented special guest such as Gabriele Palermo (Tragedian). On all the other tracks you can hear Laura Scappini (In Memory) doing all the backup vocals

Le 22 mars, ELDRITCH enregistrera un concert en Italie, pour son premier DVD live officiel.

Les italiens d'Eldritch sont en train de travailler sur un DVD et double CD live.

Le show enregistré durait deux heures, et était divisé en deux parties : la première, constituée de titres extrait de l'album "Reverse" (2001) et des albums suivants, et la seconde de morceaux issus des trois premiers opus...

Pour info, les parties de claviers ont été assurées par Oleg Smirnoff (Vision Divine), membre d'origine du groupe Eldritch.

Je fus un grand fan d'Eldritch...je jetterais une oreille et un oeil sur la version dvd du live.Les titres de la version cd sur myspace m'ont pas trop convaincu.Notamment le voix de Holler sur From dusk till Dawn (que j'adore).A tester..

C'est du moins ce qu'annoncent les thrashprogueux italiens pour leur prochain album :

Italian progressive-aggressive metal band ELDRITCH is currently writing material for its eighth album for a late 2010 release via Diversity Media/LMP. A new posting on the group's MySpace page reads, "The ELDRITCH guys are really concentrated on giving their fans a 'back-to-the-roots' album!! At the moment we can't say too many things, but it's sure that the next album will be nearly the perfection one!

Si seulement c'etait vrai...Eldritch est pour moi a l'état de souvenirs.Les 3 premiers albums renferment des merveilles.Un El Nino II...

Je préfère ce qu'ils font maintenant, alors ce retour aux sources je l'attends pas plus que ça mais j'aime bien les premiers albums aussi donc à suivre

Veteran progressive metallers ELDRITCH will release their eighth studio album, "Gaia's Legacy", on September 25 via Scarlet Records. A concept effort dealing with global warming based on Al Gore's documentary "An Inconvenient Truth", the CD sees ELDRITCH going back to its technical progressive roots, with lots of influences raging from thrash to AOR and a modern approach still in the band's distinctive style. Frontman Terence Holler wrote all the lyrics after a deep search of information on every kind of source for the last three years.

"Gaia's Legacy" was produced by Marco Ribecai and Eugenio Simone at Syncropain Products Studio in Pisa, Italy, and mastered by Göran Finnberg (OPETH, IN FLAMES, EVERGREY, DARK TRANQUILLITY) in Sweden. FIREWIND's Bob Katsionis, a longtime fan of the band, is credited as special guest keyboardist on the song "Like A Child".

Je ne sais pas si c'est vraiment un retour aux sources (ça fait un bail que j'ai pas écouté d'Eldritch), mais ça joue.

Je kiffe ce groupe. Les albums sont assez inégaux mais il y a dans chacun d'entre eux des petites pépites qui envoient bien le paté. Il faudrait faire un best of d'Eldritch en fait.

et plein d'autres, il y a toujours 2 ou 3 très bon titres d'Eldritch dans leurs albums globalement moyens, qui du coup méritent l'achat. Souvent les riffs sont killers, parfois le chant gâche tout, je suis néanmoins enthousiaste à chaque sortie de ce groupe qui est capable du meilleur comme du pîre mais qui sort des putains de bons titres quand l'inspiration est là.

Rock Overdose: It’s been four years since your last record Blackenday, why this took so long?

Terence Holler: “After Blackenday (2007) we released the double live album and DVD Livequake (2008) and then toured Europe with FIREWIND… We finished touring in 2009 and then started the song writing for Gaia’s Legacy… It took a lot of time because we decided to have a keyboard player in the band again, like for the first era… The album is hyper technical, so it needed one year to write the whole stuff! Then seven months for pre-producing, recording, mixing, mastering etc… This is the reason why four years between the previous album and this one!”

Rock Overdose: Gaia s Legacy is based on Al Gore’s documentary An Inconvenient Truth that is talking about the global warming. Can you tell us a few words about it?

Terence Holler: “Al Gore did an excellent film/documentary based on the global warming impact on the world’s life! If you watch it you could learn so many things about what is happening to our planet…. I found it very interesting and useful to write an album on something important and maybe could open some minds about what the hell is going on! Of course, I’m not launching any kind of slogan! I’m just a singer, but at least I didn’t write anything stupid!”

C'est pas vraiment un retour au source, à en juger par ce titre. Pour moi le premier album est magique et je n'ai pas vraiment retrouvé ce sentiment sur les suivants même si y a encore de bon moments, et puis leur période bourrin (tout est relatif hein) sur Reverse et suivant n'est pas ce que je préfère chez eux.
