Le nouvel album Warball sortira en Octobre.
The group's first CD with new vocalist James Rivera (HELSTAR, KILLING MACHINE, SEVEN WITCHES) is being described as "a darker and more aggressive version" of the band's classic "Digital Dictator" album (1987). An October release via Mascot Records is expected. A European tour with AGENT STEEL will follow in March 2007.
Mais ils risquent de devoir ouvrir pour Beyond Fear... le monde à l'envers...

Dave Starr (basse) a quitté le groupe pour se consacrer à son propre projet.
Original VICIOUS RUMORS bassist Dave Starr has once again left the band as of January 23, 2007. Dave played bass on the first five VICIOUS RUMORS albums (and was featured in several other VICIOUS RUMORS DVDs, MTV videos, and band compilations). He returned to the band in 2005 to record the new "Warball" CD in 2006.

Commented Starr: "My history with VICIOUS RUMORS goes back nearly 23 years, and in many ways the band will always be a part of me. However, it's time for me to concentrate 100% of my time and energy on my own music, my own band, and playing guitar. My band WILDESTARR (along with incredible vocalist London Wilde) is something I have been working on for a few years now, and I took time off from this to work with VICIOUS RUMORS again and record the 'Warball' album. I am happy with the way the new VICIOUS RUMORS CD came out, and thrilled with the response it has received so far from the fans and press. It was great to play and record with VICIOUS RUMORS again. I remain on good terms with everyone in the band and wish them well in the future."

Look for the debut CD by WILDESTARR in late 2007. Dave describes the bands sound as "heavy, melodic, and intense."

WILDESTARR, the new band featuring VICIOUS RUMORS bassist Dave Starr (on guitar and bass) and vocalist London Wilde, has posted its first song, "Generation Next", on the group's MySpace page ( http://www.myspace.com/wildestarr )
Commented Dave: "This is the demo version of one of the new songs off the upcoming WILDESTARR CD — very raw, in your face, and loud. We just recorded this last week. We want everyone to hear us and get a feel for what we are up to in the studio. We are going to be in the studio all year working on this album, but folks want to hear something now... so here you go!"

WILDESTARR's debut album is being recorded at Trident Studios in Pacheco California. Co-producing along with the band is Juan Urteaga (TESTAMENT, VICIOUS RUMORS, EXODUS). The group's recording lineup is completed by studio/session drummer R.R. Valdez.

WILDESTARR is currently shopping for a record deal and hopes to have its debut album out later this year.

"artistic differences", oui oui :D

"VICIOUS RUMORS would like to thank all the fans and friends who supported the band over the last year on the 'World War Tour'. We had a great time with everyone at all the shows in the USA, Europe and Japan. As the 'Warball' tour ends the band is now in pre-production for a new studio CD to be released next year.

"Even though the band has gone through many changes over the years, VR has maintained a solid force in U.S. power metal over the last 25 years. VR has already written several new songs for the new CD to follow up 'Warball'.

"Due to artistic differences, singer James Rivera is no longer in VR. James was let go after the European tour in September 2007. Recently James Rivera has issued a statement saying VR was broken up after his departure with a list of other personal problems. We understand that HELSTAR is his true love and passion and wish them all the best.

"VR moves forward to next year with a new CD and a new lineup. After 25 years, 12 CDs and countless tours in no way has VICIOUS RUMORS split up. You can't kill rock n roll.

"Look for VR on tour with a new CD in 2008."

Veteran San Francisco Bay Area metallers VICIOUS RUMORS have issued the following update:

"2008 brings VICIOUS RUMORS back in the studio for a new CD. Pre-production has been in full swing. 12 new songs will be recorded. The production team of Geoff Thorpe and Juan Urteaga at Trident studios in Pacheco, California will record and mix the new disc.

"After the high critical acclaim of the 'Warball' CD, VICIOUS RUMORS strikes back with another killer classic power metal offering. Some of the tracks to look for are 'Murderball', 'From Fear to Eternity' and 'Over the Edge'.

"New songs, new lineup, new CD. Look for VICIOUS RUMORS back on tour this year.

"The hunt for the next VICIOUS RUMORS lead singer has been on. Warriors from all over the world have stepped up to the plate!! We have had some great vocalist try out and it looks like we have a hard choice to make.

"We plan to finish all the additions and announce our new singer next month.

"The VICIOUS RUMORS machine keeps rolling as the ball picks up speed!! Shows are being booked. We look forward to unleashing the new lineup soon.

"Thanks so much to all our friends and fans world wide who always stay with us!!! We had such a great time with all of you last year!!! VICIOUS RUMORS strikes back in 2008!"

VICIOUS RUMORS guitarist Geoff Thorpe allegedly got into an altercation with the group's now-former vocalist James Rivera (also HELSTAR, ex-SEVEN WITCHES, FLOTSAM AND JETSAM) at the end of the band's European tour last fall.

James Rivera discussed his departure from VICIOUS RUMORS on the November 17, 2007 edition of "The Classic Metal Show". Download the 20-minute interview in MP3 format at this location (7 MB).

Geoff Thorpe spoke to "The Classic Metal Show" on December 8, 2007 about the alleged altercation that took place between him and Rivera.

The entire interview can be downloaded in MP3 audio format at this location (7 MB).

James Rivera's statement regarding his split with VICIOUS RUMORS can be found at this location.

Rivera appears on VICIOUS RUMORS' latest album, "Warball", which came out in the U.S. in October 2006.

Le groupe vient d'engager un nouveau chanteur, Ronnie Stixx, que je ne connais pas...

Veteran San Francisco Bay Area metallers VICIOUS RUMORS have announced the addition of singer Ronnie Stixx (SHADOWKEEP, DIVINE RUINS) to the group's ranks. "Ronnie showed up and blew the band away with his powerful voice," stated guitarist Geoff Thorpe. "The first night he sang with us it was like he was in the band for years. It was amazing. Major worldwide touring is in the works. Our first show is March 29 at the Britannia Arms in Cupertino, California."
