C'est marrant me suis ressorti ce disque (Day Of Reckoning, que je possède depuis une dizaine d'année) récemment et j'ai seulement capté que le batteur était Joe Hasselvander, batteur de Raven depuis 1988!

édit: ok j'ai la réédition de 93 (cf bio en début de topic....) C'est d'un compliqué leur histoire!

C'est grâce à eux que j'ai découvert SIR LORD BALTIMORE... J'ai réussi à choper le premier album de SLB en téléchargeant, mais jamais j'ai pu foutre la main sur le deuxième.

Ah et dans le trip barré vous connaissez l'album "Kryptonite" du canadien Neil Merryweather??? C'est carrément bien lourd et psyché à souhait!

Y'a au moins 7-8 ans que j'ai le CD ou les 2LP sont réunis

dans ce cas ecoute les albums solos de Joe sortis chez Iron Pegasus c'est excellent. Il y a une interview de Joe d ailleurs sur mon site oueb

Oui, vraiment excellente d'ailleurs, bravo à toi d'avoir interviewé ce monstre trop méconnu dans nos contrées ! Penta', Raven ou ses albums solo, ou The Hounds, tout est la mesure du gars : HEAVY au sens propre !

Mais j'avoue ne rien attendre de Pentagram désormais, si quelque chose sort tant mieux, sinon tant pis. Liebling a trop habitué son public a des déceptions ces dernières années. Je fais parti de ceux qui rêvent d'une nouvelle collaboration avec Joe Hasselvander mais c'est pas près d'arriver hélas.

On November 17 (January 27 in the U.S.), Season Of Mist will reissue two classic albums by cult doom band PENTAGRAM: 1999's "Review Your Choices" and 2001's "Sub Basement".

PENTAGRAM's fourth studio album, "Review Your Choices", marked the band's sixth comeback after several changes of lineup and label. These acclaimed protagonists of doom metal proved once more indestructible by drug addiction, breakups, bad deals, jail terms, chronic illness, satanic blood sacrifices and various acts of self-destruction. The LP also marked the return of multi-instrumentalist Joe Hasselvander to join Bobby Liebling in his eternal quest of creating the heaviest sound possible. The LP features a mix of re-recorded lost Liebling tracks from the '70s and stellar numbers penned by Hasselvander, which gave "Review Your Choices" an extra heavy feeling.

Mainman and singer Bobby Liebling has kept his band alive for nearly 40 years now and might easily be awarded the title of "longest serving cult band" — highly acclaimed by fans, press and fellow musicians alike.

"Sub-Basement" was the second output of this lineup and is regarded as the most rock n' roll effort of the doomsters ever. On top of PENTRAGRAM's perfect doom sound an irresistible groove and capturing catchiness was added, which made the album an all time favourite for many fans.

Putain d'ailleurs, les rééditions là, elles sont dispos partout, à la fnac et ce genre de trucs !
Bon vu que j'ai pas envie d'acheter mes disques là-bas, j'en ai pas pris, et en plus ça me fait chier ces rééditions avec des pochettes moches en digipack. Personne vend leurs cd, en version "normale" ?

Amis doomsters voila une petite video de leur show a Baltimore le 3 mars dernier. Ce sont the devil's blood qui etaient en ouverture.
La prise de son est pas terrible mais on sent que les coyotes ont envie. Ceci est de tres bonne augure.
Ca a l'air de sonner maousse costaud.

Un groupe que j'ai découvert en 1998, avec les albums de "victor griffin", depuis je suis devenu un fan du groupe. Et même devenue fan du groupe de "victor griffin", "Place Of Skulls". Il faudra que je fasse un post pour ce dernier.

Cool! Il me manque le First Daze Here Too.

Je suis dans une grosse phase Pentagram en ce moment. La première compile First Daze est vraiment énorme. Je me le suis enchainé avec Relentless, qui déboite tout autant dans un style plus heavy/doom. Le dernier en date Curious Volume est pas mal aussi.
Après j'avoue être un peu paumé dans le reste de leur disco avec tous les réenregistrement des morceaux 70s qu'on retrouve un peu partout dans chaque album. M'enfin bon rien ne vaudra les versions originales.

J'ai également enfin pu voir le documentaire Last Days Here sur Bobby Liefling. J'étais déjà fan de la musique mais quand on connait en plus l'histoire du bonhomme, ça prend tout de suite une autre dimension.

ite Owl by Bobby Liebling and Dave Sherman Basement Chronicles is a set of doom bangers, fuzz rockers and meditative late night boogie finally made available to a wider audience.

In the early years of the new millennium doom metal legend Bobby Liebling was going through a quieter period after the Pentagram lineup that had brought us the album Show ‘Em How had disbanded. Dave Sherman, Liebling’s longtime friend and a renowned doom metal musician (Earthride, Spirit Caravan) started hanging out with Bobby more regularly and eventually the duo decided it’s time to record something and see what it would bring. “After having crashed my car”, Sherman recounts, “I was regularly packing my 4 track into a backpack, saddling up on my iron horse and riding over in the dead of night to visit Bobby. He was in sore spirits and solitary at the time so I’d started going over to keep him company, thumb through his record collection, talk music and party. These hang sessions inspired us both, so I ended up writing some riff. With the lights of the recorder lit, these night songs effortlessly flowed out of us and were chronicled in one take.”

The Nite Owl album is the first time these recordings, a snippet of which can be heard in the cult classic documentary Last Days Here, are made available officially apart from CD-r “I Plead The Fifth” of which just a handful of copies were made by the artists. The Svart version is also remastered and partially remixed at Noise For Fiction studios, for a slightly more amplified and less lo-fi experience.
