The World's Loudest Band, MANOWAR, Kicks It Up a Notch with Meyer Sound and Westfalen Sound
Epic heavy metal band MANOWAR secured a place in the Guinness World Records during the 1990s as the loudest band in the world, and sheer volume has remained an integral part of the MANOWAR concert experience. The band's technical rider specifies a minimum un-weighted SPL of 126dB at FOH position, a feat few sound systems can handle and still sound good.
So during the sound check at the second annual "Magic Circle Festival" event in Bad Arolsen, Germany, MANOWAR achieved levels in excess of 139dB through Westfalen Sound Schallwand's powerful Meyer Sound system, bassist and front man Joey DeMaio declared unequivocally, "Westfalen Sound Kicks Ass!"
The Meyer Sound system that Westfalen provided comprised a total of 32 MILO® and two MILO 120 line array loudspeakers, with massive low end provided by 64 700-HP subwoofers. Twelve M'elodie™ line array loudspeakers covered front fill, with three CQ-1 loudspeakers handling center fill and outfill duties.
Westfalen Sound's Dirk Maron points out that the earth-shattering sound levels were maintained throughout both of MANOWAR's three-hour sets. "In spite of these exceptional levels, the sound was virtually free of any distortion," Maron says. "After the systems arrived back at Westfalen Sound, we checked them and found that none suffered even the slightest damage. I think that speaks for itself."
The festival was once again headlined by MANOWAR, who celebrated the 20th anniversary of the release of their seminal Kings of Metal album backed by a choir and a crowd of more than 35,000 die hard MANOWAR fans. The most metal of audiences were also treated to performances by metal giants Alice Cooper, Gotthard, W.A.S.P., Ted Nugent Doro Pesch, and HolyHell. c'est clair! faut qu'ils arrêtent avec leur holy hell l'an dernier c'etait largement mieux! Il y avait rob halford a la guitare et la chanteuse avait une meilleure tenue de scène

Donc déception quoi...
Sans parler de Nugent ou Cooper j'aurais espéré du wasp du doro du Brazen abbot ou du msg en rab...
et 2 heures de manowar sur 6h de show (ok 5 sans le sspeech...) c'est pas énorme...

On est allé récupérer la voiture nous-même avec un camion-plateau. 700 euros de frais. Remboursement par l'assurance de 98 euros
. Vu les frais de réparation à prévoir (plus le rapatriement!), cela ne branchait plus trop de la faire réparer mais l'ami (un ancien garagiste) qui s'est chargé du rapatriement a bien voulu la reprendre pour lui (la caisse était en super état). Il a pris à sa charge tous les frais et m'a filé 500 euros en plus. Au final, on s'en sort bien. Hormis un crédit bagnole en plus
Mais l'objectif du rapatriement, c'était aussi et surtout de ne pas laisser la voiture en Allemagne. J'avais l'impression d'avoir laissé mes clefs de bagnole au premier venu. Vu que c'était une panne, pas d'indemmnisation possible par l'assurance et véhicule considéré comme épave. Et un garagiste germain bien heureux de tomber sur une bonne affaire pour les pièces de la voiture. D'autant que ses explications quant à la panne étaient assez obscurs
paraît qu'il a fait une drôle de tronche quand il a vu débouler le camion-plateau Moralité : la prochaine fois, je loue une voiture
