Ils se font des coups de pubs n'empêche en invitant puis en "jartant" Corey. Tout simplement car médiatiquement, ce dernier est plus fort qu'Anthrax :diable:

As first reported by BLABBERMOUTH.NET back on December 6, ANTHRAX has now officially confirmed that it has recruited former DEVILSIZE and ME, MY ENEMY singer Dan Nelson (photo) as the replacement for Joey Belladonna. The announcement was made earlier this evening during an online chat with between ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian and drummer Charlie Benante and members of ANTHRAX's official fan club. A few excerpts from today's chat — edited by BLABBERMOUTH.NET for clarity — follow below:

Charlie: John Bush [former ANTHRAX singer] will not be coming back. He wants nothing to do with this.

Scott: Not just ANTHRAX, music.

Charlie: John wants nothing to do with this

Charlie: I/we love John, but he does not want to be the singer.

Charlie: There was some real weirdness that went on these last few years, reunions etc.

Scott: We tried to work it out with Joey [Belladonna] for a year.

Charlie: It would've been really amazing if things went well, but they didn't.

Scott: It wasn't meant to be.

Charlie: The relationship with Joey is really good now but we won't be doing a new record with him.

Scott: Exactly.

Charlie: There is NO bad blood at all and things may even happen in the future but right now we're moving on with someone else.

Charlie: Scott and I really like this guy that Rob Caggiano [former ANTHRAX guitarist] told us about. His name is Dan Nelson and he can sing his ass off.

Scott: Sick voice. Like Bush on steroids.

Charlie: Great instrument. And we would like to give it 100%.

Scott: Caggiano worked with him on a demo and he called Charlie and told him we needed to check him out.

Charlie: The songs are fucking awesome.

Scott: We worked him hard.

Charlie: I would like everyone to hear it and then judge.

Scott: The vibe between us is great.

Charlie: We were considering calling it something new but then we thought, "Why?"

Scott: Some of our friends have heard stuff. Everyone was backing it. He kicked our asses.

Charlie: So we had Dan come out and sing and we loved it, He's awesome. He's versatile and a metalhead.

Scott: We're going to finish the songs. Write a few more and get our asses back out there next year.

Charlie: We would rather you heard it from us and not Blabbermouth.

Question from fan: Do these new songs resemble the style of music from "We've Come for You All", or some earlier albums? Or are they a new sound?

Scott: Both.

Charlie: They resemble both.

Scott: We have a song called "Fight 'Em 'Till You Can't" which is straight-up 1988 through a 2007 filter. We have a song called "Revolution Screams" which is 2008 thrash. There's a lot of material and it's coming to life with Dan's voice. We'll reconvene after the holidays and continue writing.

Charlie: It's hard nowadays to try and relive 1986. We were different in 1986. We can reach inside and pull out some of the old school and make ourselves make that music but we don't. The song "Fight 'Em 'Till You Can't" is as organic as it gets; it's not forced and it is like an old-school thrash song.

Charlie: Dan is one of those singers that can change his style and sound. He brings new life into these songs. When he came in and sang "Room for One More" and "What Doesn't Die", it was so exciting. I get chills just thinking about it.

Scott: It felt great to play those songs again!

Charlie: One of the hardest things for us on that reunion tour was not playing those songs.

A DEVILSIZE song titled "Taken" featuring the vocals of Dan Nelson can be heard at this location. Four more DEVILSIZE tracks featuring Nelson — "The Way", "Explode", "Brooding" and "Freedom's Wings" — are available for streaming here (click on the play button to the left of each songtitle to launch audio).

Dixon Christie of PunkTV.ca recently conducted an interview with new ANTHRAX singer Dan Nelson. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow:

PunkTV.ca: The big question that everyone would love to ask, and I know that you may not have the answer, is: what happened to Joey [Belladonna, former singer] this time around? We just saw him out with the band last year, and we're glad to have you on board, but people would probably be curious to know what happened to Joey Belladonna.

Dan: Well, as far as I know, all things are still good with them and, who knows, they might still do another classic reunion tour down the line, which would be awesome from a fan's perspective; I would be there front row and center. I don't know the exact details of what went down but I know that they are talking and on speaking terms and things are cool, but I guess it just didn't work out for whatever reasons. You know how it is, you know the scene, you know one thing changes the next. I know Joey is doing well with his solo project and ANTHRAX is ready to move forward with a different direction so I really couldn't answer that honestly because I really don't know too much about it.

PunkTV.ca: I didn't expect you to dish or anything but I knew that maybe you would know more than I did.

Dan: I wish I did, my friend, but I really don't. I try not to pry too much but I know they are still speaking with Joey and everything is cool, and he told Charlie [Benante, drums] he wishes me well, and that's cool. I love Joey Belladonna's voice and I have since I was nine years old so I think of the man as a legend and, obviously, to be helming the band that he was the front man for so long is just an honor and a half. So I wish Joey all the best of luck and who knows, like I said, maybe one day again he will be out there fronting ANTHRAX on a reunion tour and that would be cool with me.

PunkTV.ca: Let's talk about that. What is the schedule like for ANTHRAX in 2008, and can you tell us about the new album?

Dan: Right now I am heading out this week to meet Charlie, Rob [Caggiano, guitar] and Frankie [Bello, bass] in Anaheim, and then shortly after, on Monday, I will be meeting up with Scott [Ian, guitar] because he is going to be at Sundance this week doing the ANVIL movie. So I will meet with Scott on Monday to do some more lyric-writing in the studio for about three days and sometime in February, I think, I am heading back out to Chicago, to home base to work on some stuff. Basically that is the way it is going to go until the album is written. We are going to keep doing the pre-production stuff and we will find the right producer and the right studio and get in there and record the album and then get out there on the road supporting it.

PunkTV.ca: And what will you be doing in the writing process?

Dan: I have been helping out with mostly the lyrics. I haven't written anything musically yet, but I am sure if we write some new songs from scratch, which I am sure is going to happen, I have a couple of ideas I will throw out there and if they get used, cool, if not, I am cool with that too. Right now I have been writing lyrics with Scott and bouncing around song titles and song ideas and lyric ideas and melodies around too. So it's going real well.

PunkTV.ca: Are they giving you all the support of a full-fledged member?

Dan: Oh yeah, I can't even tell you how well I have been treated. It's like family. It's awesome, and there is nothing but respect for me and they are taking care of me in any way. If I have something to say, they let me voice my opinion. It's not just like I am a hired vocalist where they tell me to shut up and sing. It's nothing like that at all, they are very down to earth and just from day one it has felt like a brotherhood and they are just dying to get back out there and do what they do best. You know as well as I do that ANTHRAX tears up stages. They are a kick-ass live band and we plan on doing that big time in '08.
