THE COMPANY OF UNDERTAKERS (TCOU) is an new project that former ASPHYX guitarist Eric Daniels is currently involved in again. The line-up gets completed by Bob Bagchus (ASPHYX / SOULBURN) on drums, Theo van Eekelen (HAIL OF BULLETS) on bass, Paul Baayens (ASPHYX / HAIL OF BULLETS) on guitars and Martin van Drunen (ASPHYX / HAIL OF BULLETS) on vocals. Chris Reifert (AUTOPSY) and Jörgen Sandström (GRAVE) will furthermore contribute backing vocals. According to Eric's myspace site they are in the process of writing material ("oldschool Death Metal the brutal way") with plans for a CD release sometime in 2010. Here's an official statement from Eric: "After 8 years of doing nothing in music, being busy with other interests, it feels like reborn to pick up that piece of wood with 6 strings again. With the most imagineable energy and inspiration right now I am busy writing riffs for the new side-project TCOU (THE COMPANY OF UNDERTAKERS), together with my best friends of ASPHYX and other great Death musicians. It feels like back with my family, back with my friends who have the same interests and play the pure Death Metal with their hearts as it was and is mentioned to be... I like to add my deepest respects and hails towards the ASPHYX fans worldwide who supported me for the full 100% during my active membership of ASPHYX and who kept supporting me! I only can say: YOU RULE and thanks!!!" For more info and updates go to www.myspace.com/ericdanielstcou

Et m****! Wannes Gubbels quitte le groupe. Des "divergences musicales"...
Sur le myspace du groupe:
Asphyx is pleased to announce that we have a new bassplayer. His name is Alwin Zuur and he already played in the old school death metal band Pulverizer (rip) and is also still
guitarist of the Dutch death metal band Escutcheon. Besides the fact that Alwin is a very nice guy he's also a 100% true old school death metalhead who, just like us, only wants one thing and one thing only and that's playing Death The Brutal Way without compromises.
His first show with Asphyx can be seen on the Hammer Of Doom III fest in Germany.
Alwin and Asphyx already rehearsed and it was a great experience with him on board.T he match was there. Alwin thinks and plays 100% Asphyx and being already a long time fan he stated himself
that "A dream came true".
The reason why we had to replace Wannes were the same as always: musical differences. And since Asphyx is a non-compromising band we had no other choice than to find a suitable replacement.
A replacement in the very person of Alwin of who we think was the missing link. We however wish Wannes all the best for the future, musically and personally and thank him for the past 3 years. Proost!...
We know that the loyal Asphyx' Hordes Of Disgust will embrace Alwin just as much as we do.
Asphyx

Wait and see.

Asphyx/Hooded Menace split 7" update
The Hooded Menace song for this anticipated split will be "Abode of the Grotesque". The lyrics are inspired by the movie "Tower of Evil" and they are written by Billy Nocera from Razorback Records.
Most probably Asphyx will re-record the old demo track "Vault of the Vailing Souls" (also on "Embrace the Death") or a brand new track.
The split will be released by Doomentia Records.

2 nouveaux titres ont été enregistrés:
Reformed Dutch death metal outfit ASPHYX recently entered Sonic Assault studio to record two new songs. One of the cuts, "We Doom You To Death", will appear on the upcoming split seven-inch single with Finnish doom/deathsters HOODED MENACE. ASPHYX says, "The title says it all...it's brutally doomy and heavy." The second track is a cover of the song "Bestial Vomit" from the 1988 demo by the mighty MAJESTY from the U.S. ASPHYX comments: "Since MAJESTY is a big influence of ASPHYX, we thought it was a good idea to honour that excellent demo this way."
