Je me joins à vous pour rendre hommage à cette bête qu'est Jason Newsted ! J'aurai vraiment aimé voir MetallicA avec lui !
Niveau backing et presence, c'est un monstre ! Je dirai même que pour tous les morceaux pré-black album, il enterre Hetfield ! Il est vachement plus "metal" et agressif !

Trujillo est un monstre à la basse mais ca s'arrête là, je trouve qu'il ne colle pas du tout avec les 3 autres et sur scène ca se ressent...

Mustaine a son idée sur la question :

Mustaine: I think there's a reason for that. I think I know why we didn't play that song but I'm not going to go out on a limb on it. I think one of the things was because we recorded "Mechanix" and they recorded the other way, there's not really a need to do that. There were several other songs that were really important — like "Jump in the Fire" was the first song I brought those guys. And "Phantom Lord" and "Metal Militia" were songs that I brought to them, too, and the only other song was "Mechanix", which later changed to "The Four Horsemen". And the rest of those songs were written by James [Hetfield] or by Hugh Tanner or Lloyd Grant and that's why those guys were there... and a little weird for me, too, you know, standing on stage. I thought it was cool to be just with METALLICA, but Ron McGovney's up there and Lloyd Grant's up there. I was kind of like, "Alright, well, I'll bite the bullet. I'll be cool. This is not so terrible." I got up there and, you know what?! I didn't even notice them. I was having so much fun they weren't even there."

Ce qui est quand même incroyable, c'est qu'il ressente le besoin de rabaisser Ron McGovney et Lloyd Grant. On le sait que Mustaine a été plus important qu'eux dans l'histoire de Metallica. Mais pourquoi le rappeler, pourquoi se mettre en avant ? Pourquoi leur reprocher d'être là, et gâcher, postérieurement par ces mots en tout cas, un moment qui a dû être incroyable pour eux qui n'ont pas eu de carrière musicale, encore moins le succès de Metallica ou Megadeth ? C'est avec ce genre de commentaires que Mustaine passe encore parfois pour un petit con, malgré tous les efforts qu'il peut faire. On dirait que c'est plus fort que lui

C'est quand même ancré bien au fond, parce qu'il pouvait se douter qu'il y aurait des questions sur Metallica quand même... Il avait juste à répondre "c'était cool"...

Cela étant dit, je trouve que les paroles de Four Horsemen sonnent mieux que Mechanix, ce qui fait quand même parti du charme de cette chanson !

Ah ouais il a perdu une bonne occasion de fermer sa gueule.

Bon allez je vais être sympa avec son ego, une réaction plus positive sur l'évènement :

[laughs] I had to quickly go through my bag of tricks. In the end, I got up on stage, and everything came together. I was making it much too difficult for myself.

"It was fun, I had a good time, everybody smiled a lot. Gave out a bunch of high-five knuckles and hugs. Lars [Ulrich, METALLICA drummer] kissed me a couple of times...[laughs]

"It's neat that people are able to see what this whole thing is about.

"The media made this so ugly for so long.

"We all still really care about each other.

"Everything has come full circle. It's 30 years later, and here we are. It's really weird, the whole mythology to this."
