The Russian ENSIFERUM fan club has given the band a gift of astronomical proportions, as on their request the Russian International Star Catalogue Space Earth has denominated a star in the Ursa Major constellation after the Finnish metal band.

The star is located in:

Magnitude 15.3
Ascension [RA] 16 00 19.14
Declination [Dec] +66 52 06.1

It was denominated ENSIFERUM on March 19, 2007 by pilot-cosmonaut Gerrman Titov.

Ouaip, perso je trouve ça carrément ridicule . Enfin du moment que ça reste un délire ça va.

Sinon oui le nouveau single donne à danser. Le concert de Londres était énorme, mon report est présent dans la partie "Hell On Stage" (photos à l'appui).

Très bon album! Je pensais pas qu'un jour j'apprécierai ce genre!

Leur 4ème album devrait sortir le 09/09/2009.

Finnish folk metallers ENSIFERUM have issued the following update:

"As you might know, ENSIFERUM started recording [our] fourth album on April 13. Album is recorded/produced by Tero Kinnunen (NIGHTWISH, AMORPHIS) and Janne Joutsenniemi ('Victory Songs' producer). Album will be mixed by Hiili Hiilesmaa (HIM, SENTENCED, AMORPHIS).

"As usual, there will be lot of session folk musicians but there will also be some surprises. We will update track list later but we can reveal that there will be seven songs plus intro and a cover song featuring a very special guest. Album will be released 9.9.09 [September 9, 2009] and after that band will start tour which will reach lands near, far and beyond."

Toutes les chansons sont déjà sur Youtube Je suis en train de découvrir, ça le fait bie

Je suis en retard sur l'achat grrr.

Titres préférés : From Afar, Twilight Tavern, Stone cold Metal (avec solo de banjo).

Ecouté sur Deezer. La vache, ils ont mis le paquet sur les orchestrations

Dans l'ensemble j'accroche bien, j'ai un ou deux refrains en tête, genre celui de "stone cold metal", je suis pas un spécialiste du groupe mais je pense que cet album est largement à la hauteur des espérances

Ma copine est passée hier chez Gibert et ils sont en rupture de stock. Ils doivent en recevoir plus tard. J'ai hâte.

bon bah, il est pas mal du tout cet album, il s'écoute avec plaisir. Seul reproche, il a quelques longueurs (surtout le dernier titre de 12 min.)

Il est sympa mais sans grandes surprises. Je trouve que le groupe commence à tourner un peu en rond

et y' en a aussi un de 11 min. "Heathen Throne", mais qui est déjà bien mieux !

ENSIFERUM, THE highly visual troupe who’ve long been a market leader when it comes to stirring, armour-plated anthems, will have their fifth studio album released through the Spinefarm label on August 27th 2012.
Titled ‘Unsung Heroes’ and produced by Hiili Hiilesmaa (HIM, Sentenced, Apocalyptica, etc.), this is the hour-plus follow-up to 2009’s ‘From Afar’, and sees the Finnish five-piece – founded in 1995 – pushing their signature sound to bold new heights of drama and excess.
A cinematic experience from first note to last , ‘Unsung Heroes’ takes the listener on a journey of genuine light & shade, with the 16 minute-plus ‘Passion Proof Power’ showing that when it comes to the epic statement, Ensiferum are very much in the front-line, swords at the ready.
“We’ve tried to push the different aspects of what we do as far as we can,” reflects the band, “the sonic scope is wider than ever. The folk elements go further down that path and the metallic parts will absolutely rip your face off!”
Once again, album art has been supplied by Kristian Wahlin, with featured special guests including members of Apokalyptischen Reiter plus legendary Finnish singer & actor, Vesa-Matti Loiri.
