Omnibus Press will publish Neil Daniels' book "Defenders of the Faith: The True Story of Judas Priest" book in September. According to the book's official description, "Defenders of the Faith" — which is said to be "the first definitive biography of the metal Gods" — "reveals how a group of poor, working-class lads followed in their heroes footsteps. JUDAS PRIEST's entire history is explored from their deprived beginnings in 1960s West Bromwich as an entirely different band. This title includes over 50 interviews with prominent musicians, producers, record company personnel, journalists, childhood friends and ex-members. From their earliest obscure demos to their controversial contract with Gull Records and breakthrough success with CBS, every album and tour is examined. This is the story of constant lineup changes; sell-out tours, battles with American Conservative Fundamentalists, the complete breakdown of the band, and their re-ignition with a new singer in 1996. Finally, their hugely successful reunion in 2003 with Rob Halford — the self-proclaimed Metal God — brought the band back to the attention of the world's greatest stages."
Back in February 2007, JUDAS PRIEST management representative Jayne Andrews posted a message on the group's official web site, stating that "we would like to make it clear to everyone that a book which is due out soon, entitled 'Defenders of the Faith - The True Story of Judas Priest' by Neil Daniels, is not an official book and is not approved by the band. We had absolutely no involvement with this book at all and therefore it is most definitely not the true story of JUDAS PRIEST!!"

Bizarre... Il y aurait des trucs un peu sulfureux dans ce bouquin? Ou des ragots? Pourtant, a priori, si un gars se fait chier à faire une bio d'un groupe, c'est qu'il aime ce groupe, non?
All is going really well with the new album - Glenn & K.K. are working on their guitar parts - all of the guys are going to take a short summer break then will re-group to get back to working on the album!

C'est vrai qu'en live Halford à perdu sa superbe mais je ne suis pas non plus fan du dvd de 86 qui pour moi sonne faux a tout les niveaux. je veux dire qu'il ne sonne absolument pas live, enfin si, mais live in studio.
Par contre, Angel of retribution je le trouve vraimenttrès bon, un album varié qui retrace un peu toute la carière du priest (même la période Jugulator), le groupe a eu là une bonne idée et s'en sort plus qu'honorablement (rien que d'écrire ça j'ai envie de le réecouter).
J'ai vraiment hate que ce nouvel album sorte, je suis content de voir qu'une fois de plus le Priest va de l'avant.
Et pouquoi pas un concept album concernant les perso tout en couleur d'un certain forum francophone traitant de Hard Rock et dont le nom est tiré d'une ouvre du Judas, hein, dis et pouquoi pas ??

Oui j'espere que le metal god aura retrouvé la peche pour la tournée. Sa pretsation dur le dvd, bien que de qualité, etait d'autant plus decevante au niveau des aigues que sur le live in rio avec Halford (diffusé a la tv bresilienne, et qui sort bientôt en dvd) il est irreprochable.
mais non voyons il vont nous jouez "Defender of the faith" pour feter les 25 ans de cet opus ou alors "killing machine" qui aura 30 ans l'année prochaine.
Dans cette interview intéressante (comme toujours chez Metal-Rules), Rob Halford en homme de cran admet clairement que son "metal is dead" (à l'époque de TWO) était de la pure connerie.
Mouais, d'un point de vue musicale, je n'attends pas grand chose, j'ai trouvé le dernier album assez moyen, du coup, je ne suis pas emballé par un nouvel album de JP, qui plus est si on donne dans le concept album ambitieux et tout le toutim...

C'est fou ce truc... Beaucoup de gens accrochent pas à AOR, alors que je le trouve vraiment excellent cet album. C'est Priestien comme il faut, et c'est quand même autre chose que les deux bouses précédentes. Alors après, peut-être que c'est pas leur chef-d'oeuvre absolu, mais il fait pas tâche dans leur discographie (enfin ce qu'ils ont fait avec Halford).
