Peter Wichers vient de quitter le groupe, pour la seconde fois.

Due to "creative differences," guitarist Peter Wichers and Swedish metallers SOILWORK have decided to part ways for the second time.

Commented Peter: "I want to thank everyone who has supported SOILWORK over the years. It has been a wild and fun ride, but it's time for me to explore different options in my career. I will cherish all the amazing moments I have gathered from my time with SOILWORK, and I would not be where I am today without the help from you fans, my family and SOILWORK."

Swedish melodic metallers SOILWORK have announced the addition of guitarist David Andersson (NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA) to the group's ranks.

"We're super-stoked to have David with us," said SOILWORK vocalist Björn "Speed" Strid. "He's a blast to be around and a kick-ass guitarist. Plus, we've known him for so many years, from all the touring together, we just know he's a perfect fit for us."

Andersson has toured, on and off, with SOILWORK since 2006, and most recently during the 2011 festival season in support of the band's acclaimed eighth album, "The Panic Broadcast".

Regarding the recently announced split with founding SOILWORK guitarist Peter Wichers, who first left the band in 2005 only to return four years later, Speed commented, "We just had to do this. It's in the best interest of both him and us. SOILWORK was born to be out there, tearing up the stage. Peter's been unable to commit to the kind of touring we need to do and it's time for us to move on. David's played with us for so long, he's really grown into the band. It feels natural, like a seamless transition. We're thankful for everything Peter has contributed to SOILWORK over the years and we sincerely wish him the best."

Ils vont filmer leur premier DVD le 21 mars avec le réalisateur du dernier live de Nightwish :

Commented Strid: “We are nothing short of super excited to announce the recording of our first live DVD ever. This very special and unique evening will go down in beautiful Helsinki, Finland, where Soilwork have always had very loyal fans and shared some great success through the years. The show will take place at The Circus on March 21st. It's been a long time coming, considering we released our first album in 1998, but here it is! We can't wait to share this special moment with you, our fans! The show will bring you songs from each and every album of our career. We also have some very special guests invited for the show as well, that we can't wait to announce. In addition to this, we will randomly draw 25 people out of the 500 first people to enter the venue, that will join the band and the crew for an after show party! The show will be recorded for a future DVD release and thus be a special night in the history of the pioneering band. The repertoire is set to be career spanning, special guest appearances to be made as well as some not to be unveiled surprises to come up.?

The choice where to record the first ever Soilwork audiovisual live document was an easy one since Helsinki has always been a second home to the band. The venue itself, Circus, was just the right one to offer a full on Soilwork show. Expect great things to happen. The show will mark Soilwork's only Scandinavian show in spring 2014 and will be produced by Jouni Markkanen and directed by Ville Lipiäinen who also shot the most recent NIGHTWISH DVD release Showtime, Storytime.?
