Italy's Gods Of Metal Festival 2007 May Not Happen

An official statement issued today by Magic Circle Management, announced that the promoters of The Gods Of Metal have reported that, due to financial constraints placed upon their company, the festival may not take place in 2007.

As a result, they will not honor their original agreement made with Magic Circle Management for what would be Manowar's 4th headlining appearance, bringing with them Rhapsody Of Fire as special guests and the Italian debut of HolyHell. As a side note, Manowar holds the record of headlining the Gods Of Metal Festival more times than any other band. Manowar and Magic Circle Music would like to clarify that they are in no way responsible for the cancellation of next years Manowar’s performance.

Manowar bassist Joey DeMaio says, "We wanted to inform fans as soon as possible so that they would not purchase tickets expecting to see Manowar perform at the festival. The promoters have, in the past, been known as men of honor and our trust in them went so far as to allow them exclusively to announce our appearance for 2007. We as a band understand that our Italian fans will surely be disappointed, but make no mistake about it. This was not our decision. We too are disappointed. We have been preparing a very special show just for our Italian fans and we will now seek every opportunity to bring this massive show to Italy. We will never let our fans down."

Et en même temps ca m'étonne pas du tout, vu la maigre affluence de cette année avec cette affiche bidon et couteuse, l'organisation sans cesse en déclin... j'espére qu'ils le feront tout de même à Bologne avec une bonne affiche, mais franchement j'y crois plus...

L'intervention version K7 n'a pas été appréciée par les organisateurs des Gods apparemment

As festival promoters we decided to make different artistic choices instead of proposing Manowar as headliner for the fourth time in 11 years. As usual GODS OF METAL 2007 will include the major international metal bands in the world.


Regarding Magic Circle Music email and Manowar website announcement, we have already instructed our lawyer to start a legal action against them.

Tant mieux, merci les gars. J'aime bien Manowar (surtout les vieux en fait), mais une fois en concert ça me suffit largement. C'était bien mais ça me suffit. Et pour moi, malgré la grandeur que Manowar veut mettre dans ce qu'ils font, c'est pas un headliner d'un festival comme les Gods of metal.

Bah moi je trouve au contraire que ManOwaR ça aurait été une très bonne tête d'affiche, les voir au moins une fois tous les deux ans on peut dire que ça me dérange vraiment pas

Enfin l'année prochaine l'affiche des gods à intérêt à être béton sinon cette fois-ci je viens vraiment pas!

Ben disons que s'ils variaient la setlist, s'ils tapaient plus dans les premiers albums, et s'ils réduisaient le temps consacré aux speechs et aux connerie, ça donnerait envie de les voir plus souvent.
C'est marrant au début, mais après plusieurs concerts, ça devient un peu lourd et frustrant.

DEMAIN ANNONCE OFFICIELLE

E' finalmente arrivato il momento tanto atteso. L'annuncio del GODS OF METAL 2007. Ogni tassello sta andando al posto giusto per cui è giunta l'ora di iniziare a svelare le prime carte.


Innanzitutto la durata: saranno tre giorni, ma non tutti e tre consecutivi, avremo un Gods Of Metal - part One che si svolgerà sabato 2 e domenica 3 Giugno e un Gods Of Metal - part Two che si svolgerà sabato 30 Giugno, per un totale di 24 bands, 8 al giorno.


La location sarà ancora l'Idroscalo di Milano. L'arena si è già dimostrata molto accogliente lo scorso anno, ma quest'anno sono previste delle notevoli migliorie. Stiamo inoltre trattando con le autorità competenti la possibilità di allestire un campeggio interno. Stesso discorso per quanto riguarda i prezzi di cibo e bevande: vogliamo tenerli sotto controllo e sono in corso trattative con i gestori della ristorazione al fine di ridurre tali costi. Vi terremo informati costantemente su questi due punti.


E veniamo ora agli artisti già confermati. Per la prima volta headliner al Gods Of Metal, nella giornata di domenica 3 Giugno, avremo i DREAM THEATER. Il nuovo album di Petrucci e soci uscirà in primavera e l'occasione di gustarli per la prima volta al Gods è veramente imperdibile.
Sempre nella giornata di domenica 3 Giugno, con un ruolo praticamente da co-headliner, si esibiranno i super attesi HEAVEN & HELL, ovvero sia Ronnie James Dio, Toni Iommi, Geezer Butler e Vinnie Appice. Che dire, qui siamo di fronte alla storia. Il progetto è ormai sulla bocca di tutti e certo non ce li potevamo far sfuggire al Gods.
Quella del 3 Giugno si prospetta una giornata leggendaria, infatti, subito prima di Heaven & Hell, saliranno sul palco i BLIND GUARDIAN. I bardi tornano sul palco del Gods dopo diversi anni e c'è da scommettere che sarà una bella battaglia. Siamo di fronte a un tris d'assi d'eccezione, assolutamente da non mancare.
Tutte e tre le bands avranno a disposizione un tempo similare e paragonabile a quello di un normale concerto da headliner.


Passiamo ora ad analizzare la giornata di sabato 30 Giugno. Grande sorpresa, headliner di questa giornata sarà infatti OZZY OSBOURNE. Il Madman uscirà con il nuovo album a maggio e tornerà finalmente in Italia dopo molti anni di attesa. Siamo onorati di averlo come headliner di una delle serate del Gods in quella che sarà la sua unica apparizione italiana del 2007.
Anche MEGADETH hanno ufficialmente confermato la loro partecipazione. Megadave e soci usciranno con il nuovo album in primavera e anche per loro, come per Ozzy, sabato 30 Giugno si tratterà dell'unica possibilità di vederli dal vivo in Italia nel 2007.
Confermati anche BLACK LABEL SOCIETY che tornano al Gods dopo la indimenticabile esibizione del 2005. Zakk Wylde sarà impegnato due volte nella giornata di domenica 30 Giugno. Infatti nel pomeriggio salirà sul palco con la sua band e poi chiuderà il festival come chitarrista della band di Ozzy.


A questo punto vi starete chiedendo chi sarà l'headliner di sabato 2 Giugno. Ebbene su questo punto c'è bisogno ancora di qualche giorno di pazienza. Il nome è già confermato, ma stiamo mettendo a punto gli ultimi dettagli con il management. Contiamo di poterlo annunciare entro pochissimi giorni.


Ma altre grandissime bands hanno già confermato la loro presenza al Gods Of Metal 2007. Primi tra tutti, dopo il forfait dello scorso anno, arrivano i DIMMU BORGIR. Anche per loro nuovo lavoro in uscita e esibizione nella giornata di domenica 3 Giugno.
Ufficialmente confermati anche SCORPIONS che tornano in Italia dopo tanti anni e per la prima volta al Gods. La band teutonica si esibirà sabato 2 Giugno.


I biglietti saranno in vendita dal 26 Gennaio su http://www.ticketone.it e tutta la rete collegata. Dalla settimana successiva in tutte le altre prevendite autorizzate. Ci saranno diverse tipologie di biglietto, ingresso ai tre giorni, ingresso a soli due giorni a scelta, oppure ingresso al giorno singolo.

Un festival avec une semaine de trou, c'est original. Moi, je propose le festival sur 12 jours, tous les 24 du mois.

Ah oui en effet. C'est pratique pour ceux qui veulent faire les 3 jours et qui habitent loin... M'enfin, je pense qu'ils ont une bonne raison de faire ça.
