Le groupe a signé chez Frontiers :
Frontiers Music Srl has announced the signing of Italian progressive metallers DGM to a multi-album deal. The band's new CD will be released in late summer.

DGM started in 1994 as an instrumental band and evolved over the years into a formidable and tight unit, offering super heavy riffs, tight drum patterns, beautiful melodies, classy arrangements, and top-notch musicianship.

With eight full-length studio albums, one EP and a live CD/DVD under their belts, DGM is a band that has reached full stylistic maturity and is truly at the top of their game. The band also spent a good amount of their time touring worldwide, taking part in some of the most important metal festivals, including ProgPower USA, ProgPower Europe, PPM and Gods Of Metal. They also supported SYMPHONY X on their "Iconoclast" European tour in 2010 and headlined an Asian tour in 2014, with shows in Japan and China.

DGM guitarist and producer Simone Mularoni says: "We are really excited to start this new journey with Frontiers Music Srl! We feel blessed and honored to see our name close to the bigger acts of the rock scene we all love and to be part of a label we follow since the beginning of its career. In particular, we think this new album perfectly suits the path that Frontiers pursued over the years, since it's extremely melodic, epic but in the same time with all the usual DGM's trademarks! We cannot wait for all of you to listen to the new songs and to meet everyone on the road!"

DGM is:

Mark Basile - Vocals
Simone Mularoni - Guitar
Andrea Arcangeli - Bass
Fabio Costantino - Drums
Emanuele Casali - Keyboards

Earlier this year, DGM revealed that they were doing to release a new album and today we get to find out much more about it. First, it will be titled The Passage. The Italian prog metal masters will release it on August 26th via Frontiers Music Srl. Moreover, Evergrey singer Tom Englund and Symphony X guitarist Michael Romeo also appear as special guests on the record. The cover and song titles can be seen below.

Tracklist:

01. The Secret (Part 1)
02. The Secret (Part 2)
03. Animal
04. Ghosts Of Insanity
05. Fallen
06. The Passage
07. Disguise
08. Portrait
09. Daydreamer
10. Dogma
11. In Sorrow

The label describes the album as such: "The new album, The Passage is another substantial step forward for DGM. Sounding like a hungry, urbanized version of Symphony X, with substantial hard rock influences, the new record is remarkable in several aspects. The compositions are phenomenal, with sweeping choruses, technical passages, lightning fast fretwork, big vocals and bombastic transitions. The playing is simply faultless and the melodies are perfectly woven into the killer guitars, epic keyboards, and pounding drums!"

Un album live dans la foulée :
Frontiers Music Srl is excited to announce the release of DGM’s first live album, entitled “Passing Stages," on June 2nd.

DGM’s last album (their eighth), “The Passage” (see review here) was released in August 2016 and marked the culmination of almost 20 years of hard work that started back in 1997 and has pushed the Italian band into the elite rankings of the international progressive metal scene. Over the years, DGM has managed to tour the world, taking part in some of the biggest and most celebrated metal festivals around the globe and sharing the stage with the likes of Heaven and Hell, Dream Theater, Symphony X, Avantasia, Scorpions, and many others.

With a bulletproof line-up comprised of producer/guitarist Simone Mularoni, singer Marco Basile, bassist Andrea Arcangeli, drummer Fabio Costantino, and keyboardist Emanuele Casali, DGM can now share their awesome musicianship and songwriting skills with all audiences via the release of this truly beautiful live release!

“Passing Stages” is the best possible illustration of what DGM are capable of on a stage these days,” says Simone Mularoni. “We put our hearts and souls into the making this one and managed to capture magical nights that we'll remember forever. In our career, "Passing Stages" will be a milestone in our discography and a great conclusion of the first decade of this line-up. Here’s to the future.”

Herein are captured two separate performances for fans to enjoy via audio on CD and MP3 and visually via DVD or Blu-Ray. The first show is the entire performance held in front of the inaugural Frontiers Metal Festival, in Trezzo Sull’Adda (Milano) on October 30, 2016 and has a set-list centered around the latest album, “The Passage.” “We wanted to show to the whole world how great the Italian fans are and how much we love to play in our home country, and we had the best occasion with the first edition of Frontiers Metal Festival,” continues Simone. “With our last album, "The Passage,” I think we managed to reach an even bigger crowd and that particular day was really one of a kind...the best Italian live club, packed with fans, together with a lot of friends and a gig focused on the last album.”

The second show captured sees the band in action at the ProgPower Festival in Atlanta, GA on September 11, 2014. The setlist shows an emphasis on the albums "Frame" and "Momentum." “Our second time at ProgPower USA was an important step of the 'Momentum' tour and filming that evening was mandatory,” explains Simone. “We felt the warmth of the crowd, we worked with fabulous technicians and with one of the best crews ever. The atmosphere pervading the Center Stage in Atlanta is unique and we did our best to honor this awesome festival with a performance at the top of our abilities. I'm pretty sure that whoever watches the concert will feel like being right in front of the stage singing with us.”

This is an unmissable opportunity to witness the superb qualities of the Italian quintet in the live environment and also opens the door to newer fans (of which there are quite a few) to experience the excellent and older repertoire.

The track listing is as follows:

CD1:

1. The Secret, Part 1

J'ai écouté l'album, je confirme mon avis : ils sont vraiment excellents ! Je pourrais un peu râler sur les quelques passages de synthés trop "dreamtheateriens" à mon goût mais comme le reste est top ça passe. :bang:

Franchement Gandalf n'hésite pas !

En novembre.
Italian progressive metal masters DGM will release their new album, Life on November 17 via Frontiers Music Srl. The first single from the album, “Unravel The Sorrow,” is out today accompanied by a new music video.

Life comes as the culmination of 2 years work in which the band’s mainman Simone Mularoni, wrote a wealth of musical material with Life being the first view into this period of creativity. The songs show clearly the desire to push the band beyond any previous boundaries and to build more of their own personal identity and approach. Truly, no small feat given the band’s catalog.

DGM comment, “Life is exactly the sum of all the elements that build the DGM’s sound so far. Over the years we’re focusing more and more on the quality of the songs rather than the usual prog-metal technical aspects, putting all our efforts in the arrangements and caring every little detail of each song. We strongly believe that this album is the peak of our songwriting!”

All the trademark elements of DGM’s sound can be found in this new album: sweeping choruses, technical passages, lightning fast fretwork, big vocals and bombastic transitions. The care and dedication to the songwriting process emerges in phenomenal songs which wholly encompass everything from the heaviest progressive metal to a classic, hard rock sound. As usual, the playing is faultless and the melodies are perfectly woven into the killer guitars, epic keyboards, and pounding drums.

Additionally, DGM's line-up is more cohesively gelled than ever but, beyond Mularoni's spectacular guitar playing, a special mention goes to singer Mark Basile who truly dominates the new material like a helmsman on a stormy night.
