L'ancien chanteur de Grim Reaper et Onslaught a monté un groupe solo prêt à sortir son premier album.
C'est le même groupe qui avait joué un set spécial Grim Reaper au Keep It True.
THE STEVE GRIMMETT BAND, the new group fronted by legendary British heavy metal vocalist Steve Grimmett (GRIM REAPER, ONSLAUGHT, LIONSHEART), ahs entered the studio with producer Dennis Ward (KROKUS, SILENT FORCE, PINK CREAM 69) to begin recording its debut album, tentatively titled "Personal Crisis". The projected track listing for the effort is as follows (in no particular order):
Ca à l'air d'avoir plus de pêche que Lionsheart. Vocalement il a perdu le Grimmet.

Les nouveaux extraits ont l'air pas mal , la musique est pas aussi bonne que Grim Reaper mais ce chanteur me fascine toujours autant, rien que pour lui je me le prendrai cet album.
Il assure toujours bien d'après ces extraits.

Après 3 excellents albums dans les 80's, ce groupe de la NWOBHM revient sous un "nom" légèrement différent : The Steve Grimmet Band/Grim Reaper.
Des morceaux de Grim Reaper de l'époque
et
des nouveaux morceaux, versions démos.
Ce n'est pas aussi péchu, le chant n'est plus aussi aigu, mais bon ce n'est pas trop mal (enfin ce n'est que mon avis). Par contre les mélodies sont toujours autant au premier plan. Enfin, on remarquera la modernisation du logo :

Et les morceaux sont moyens.
Déjà dans les 80's Grim Reaper était un groupe très classique, ce qui faisait la différence c'était l'efficacité de la musique qui palliait sa simplicité à l'heure où les groupes de heavy US poutraient sévèrement, et la voix excellente de Grimmet. Mais maintenant que ce dernier a beaucoup perdu de sa superbe, je vois pas trop l'intérêt de la chose à sortir un album constitué de morceau de cet acabit. Faut vraiment être ultra fan de Grim Reaper, et doit plus y'en avoir des masses quand même.

P'tain je me souviens encore avec bonheur de la Video de "Rock you to hell " c' était quand même grandiose ...
Notamment pour le look et la coupe de cheveux de Grimmet , un improbable croisement de permanente style les feux de l' amour et de choucroute à la Brigitte Bardot...
Ah les 80's c ' était vraiment l' âge d' or des fabricants de Laques pour cheveux rebels.
La couche d' ozone se souvient encore avec effroi de la vague Glam / Hair Metal aux USA de cette époque....
C'est de l'arnaque de reprendre le nom de Grim Reaper, ça n'a rien d'une reformation.
Le compositeur principal de Grim Reaper ne fait plus partie du groupe, il y a juste Steve Grimmet et des potes à lui pas super bons mais il se permet quand même d'utiliser le nom du groupe...
La preuve au Keep It True, avec une version moyenne de "See You in Hell" (le gratteux ne joue pas tout, c'est pas bien carré des fois et Grimmet a beaucoup perdu vocalement...) :

GrimmStine est encore un nouveau groupe/projet de Steve Grimmet l'ancien chanteur de Grim Reaper et Onslaught, qui a d'ailleurs déclaré récemment avoir postulé dans Sabbath, Maiden et Priest.
British heavy metal vocalist Steve Grimmett has told Classic Rock magazine that he nearly joined not one, not two… but three legendary bands. Grimmett, who made his name with GRIM REAPER, ONSLAUGHT and LIONSHEART, said, "When Bruce Dickinson left IRON MAIDEN, I sent them a demo. But never heard anything back from them, and then heard that Blaze Bayley had the job. But a while afterwards, their manager Rod Smallwood told me that I'd made the top five on their short list."
The singer also went for the JUDAS PRIEST gig as the replacement for Rob Halford. "I did get a letter back, thanking me for my interest, but they didn't feel I was quite right for them."
Finally, he was actually being lined up by BLACK SABBATH.
"Drummer Bobby Rondinelli called and asked if I'd like to join the band. I was committed to doing the second LIONSHEART album ('Pride In Tact'), but told him that, if they could wait, then I'd love to do it. But by the time I was ready, the original lineup was back together, so that was out of the window."

The release of "Walking In The Shadows" has been an anticipated announcement by fans of the British metal band for more than two decades. Grimmett updated fans via a Facebook posting in early January noting, "2016 has started and that means only 29 days until I start touring again. This year it's Europe then North America, South America, plus a new album... bring it on!" He continued in discussing the new album saying, "I am tremendously proud of the album. It has taken a long time because it has been fraught with problems, but we have ended up with the best thing I have done in decades. We're all looking forward to bring it to the fans and excited to be doing a world tour, starting straight after its release, and carrying on until 2017."
Surrounding himself with an all-new band, Grimmett recently completed a 22-date North American tour. The trek included stops in New York, Philadelphia, Detroit, Chicago, Milwaukee, Seattle, Los Angeles, San Antonio, and Austin. Due to its success, the band recently announced a planned return in the autumn to support the new album after release.
Original GRIM REAPER guitarist Nick Bowcott joined STEVE GRIMMETT'S GRIM REAPER on stage on March 25 at 4 D's Bar & Grill in Fort Wayne, Indiana to perform several of the band's classic songs. Check out fan-filmed video footage below.
Bowcott previously played with STEVE GRIMMETT'S GRIM REAPER in 2014, marking the first time Steve and Nick appeared on stage together in more than 25 years.

Bon, j'ai écouté l'album en entier et plusieurs fois. Niveau voix, y a que les deux premières de l'album qui sonnent moins Grim Reaper, d'ailleurs niveau musique, c'est celles qui s'éloignent le plus du Grim Reaper d'origine. Pour le reste, ça sonne effectivement assez Grim Reaper... il manque quand même un peu (pas mal) de folie ou peut-être d’agressivité, pour arriver au niveau des 3 premiers. Cela dit, je prends beaucoup de plaisir à l'écouter.

Steve Grimmett est dans un état critique dans un hôpital en Amérique Du Sud.......Une grave infection a nécéssité une amputation d'une jambe mais le pronostic vital est engagé ......

il y a eu pas mal d'info contradictoire sur son état, d'après ce que j'ai vu sur son FB et les propos de sa girlfriend, voilà les dernières infos de sa compagne, il va pouvoir être rapatrié chez lui :
"Good news! All being well Steve will be coming home this weekend, accompanied by Mart and Richie. It's going to be tough and a long road to recovery but we'll get there."
sur son FB on peut le voir en photo à l'hopital en compagnie des membres du groupes et il a l'air pas trop mal, par contre c'est clair que la convalescence va durer un moment.
Au moment ou le groupe reprenait du poil de la bête avec un album vraiment très bon et des tournées qui s'enchainaient...
c'est vraiment pas de bol !!!

je l'avais vu oui, apparemment après le concert, une heure avec les fans à signer des trucs, faire des photos, et seulement ensuite direction l'hosto !!!

concernant son assurance je pense que cette histoire va lui couter pas mal d'oseille, soins, réeducation et ne serait ce que la prothèse pour remplacer la partie de jambe amputée... je connais pas le système de sécurité sociale en UK mais bon...
en tout belle initiative d'Oliver du kit, ça va certainement bien l'aider !!
