Jake Coyle of News.com.au reports: SPINAL TAP is back, to help save the world from global warming. If only they were clear on exactly what that was.
The mock heavy metal group immortalized in the 1984 mockumentary "This is Spinal Tap" will reunite for a performance at Wembley Stadium in London as part of worldwide Live Earth concerts on July 7.
The original members of SPINAL TAP will be there: guitarist Nigel Tufnel (played by Christopher Guest), singer David St Hubbins (Michael McKean) and bassist Derek Smalls (Harry Shearer). Rob Reiner, who both directed "This is Spinal Tap" and played the fake documentarian Marty DeBergi in the film, will also be in attendance.
A new 15-minute film directed by Reiner on the band's reunion will also play at the opening night of the Tribeca Film Festival in New York tonight.

!!YEAH!!!
Et une vidéo qui fête cette reformation culte
http://liveearth.msn.com/?wa=wsignin1.0
According to Cinematical.com, the band who made monumental music achievements with their amps that go to the rockin' number 11, is now reuniting to help save the world and fight climate change. Last the cinema world saw them, Nigel Tufnel, David St. Hubbins and Derek Smalls were "Catching Up with Marty DiBergi" seven years ago. Since then, it appears that Nigel has been raising miniature race horses but can't find jockeys small enough to ride them, David's busy as a hip-hop producer/colon clinic head and Derek has been in rehab for his Internet addiction. Now they're re-teaming for a concert in London and a new short film that helped open up the Tribeca Film Fest, in a gala hosted by Al Gore.
Rob Reiner's new short is called, simply, "Spinal Tap", and is part of a campaign called SOS/Live Earth. The new flick has DiBergi taking credit for the term "global warming," and the band discussing their dedication to charity work, which of course, includes campaigns to help ferrets by raising money to get them Caesar Salad. As if that wasn't enough for hard-core mockumentary and Tap fans, the group has a new single called "Warmer Than Hell", which includes the lyrics: "The devil went to Devon, it felt like the fourth degree / He said, 'It it hot in here, or is it only me

Spinal Tap !!

According to BBC News, SPINAL TAP — the spoof English heavy metal band which is the brainchild of American actors Michael McKean, Harry Shearer and Christopher Guest — is recording its first new material in nearly twenty years.
Shearer, who these days voices several "Simpsons" characters, told BBC 5 Live: "It'll be for download as well as on conventional media later this year."
The band briefly reformed two years ago for the Live Earth gig (see video below) at Wembley Stadium in London.
Shearer, who portrays TAP's bass player Derek Smalls, said: "We've never recorded the song we did at Live Earth, 'Warmer Than Hell', and I think they (SPINAL TAP) are trying to revisit their old success. Not that they were ever popular, maybe in their own universe. We'll do a song called 'Gimme Some More Money', probably with some dubious results."

Back from the Dead est annoncé pour le 16 juin, c'était pas une blague.

Ils ont mis la totale dans la tracklist
"On Back From the Dead, Tap members David St. Hubbins, Nigel Tufnel and Derek Smalls unearth their long-self-suppressed studio versions of the classic songs from the movie "This is Spinal Tap," as well as six new additional songs, and an exclusive hour long accompanying DVD featuring a track-by-track video commentary by the band. Back From The Dead also features guest appearances by Phil Collen, Keith Emerson, John Mayer and Steve Vai. "This album title says it all. We're back from the dead. But we weren't dead. But we definitely are back," proclaimed Hubbins.
Back From The Dead is a deluxe CD/DVD package aggressively priced and containing 19 original Spinal Tap songs, a one-hour DVD and unique pop-up diorama package that unveils three 12-inch action figures (courtesy of Sideshow Collectibles) of the band along with a proportionally sized Stonehenge. Back From The Dead is destined to be a collector's item, especially among collectors.
"While the movie and soundtrack accurately represented our stage sound at the time, the studio versions of these songs on this album represent the cosmic maturation of the material, within a digital context. Also, they're louder," stated Smalls."
